I've just received news yesterday from Alex's sister saying that he had passed away yesterday at 9.20pm, in no pain. Even though I didn't know him personanlly, I'd just like to take some time and thank him for being such a great member of this forum. He's been a very helpful one, and will be missed.

R.I.P

Very very sad news, especially at this time of year. He had dropped hints at his illness, but never talked about it openly.

My sincere condolences to his family.

I'm quite skeptical. This person just said "He's dead." I have reason to believe otherwise.

He was my age, which is no age at all.

He was always slated by the community for being obtuse and arrogant. Personally, I saw him as one of the few people willing to "call it as he saw it", and I respect people like that.

We needed more like him. My condolences to his family and friends.

A damn shame, he was a funny guy. He'd mentioned him being sick on another board, and that he didn't have that much time left. Still, it was a shock to see this..

Rest easy, man. My condolences to his family.

I am really sorry to hear this. It is one thing when an old geezer like myself finally succumbs but for someone 20 or less does, that is extremely sorrowful.

Well guys I have a idea but not sure if everyone is up for it or not. In memory of his death maybe we could make a community game togethier and send all the money to his family to help cover costs. Im sure since he was so young his family did not have life insurance on him so they our paying out of pocket for the funeral.

I was thinking of that or maybe we can all work togethier on a Model pack and sell it. Use all the money to send to his family. Something to help out his family. I my self am 29. An if I died today, Im sure my wife would be overwhelmed with bills etc.

Just a idea guys.

I reckon this could possibly be setup cause Aaagreen's steam account says he was online 5 hrs ago.

And i have to agree with norion, most likely his sister went on his steam account and told his friends of the bad news.

I concur, it would be a really distasteful joke to play stating someone died and it was not true. Moving on with the model pack idea. I too have plant life. Ill whip up some models as well in X format and send them to whom ever wants to lead this project. It might be nice if we can get TGC to help sell the model pack on their site. Since they are allready a well known site, it might bring in more sales. This way we can get more money for the family in need.

Another idea I had was setting up a little memorial foundation with the money. Like a college grant or something in his memory with the money. Not sure what channels we would have to go through to start it. Again just a few suggestions.

I don't think so cause normally people wouldn't share their accounts on steam cause of course.....You have games on your account so unless you made a account to share (Which I don't think Aaagreen would do) you wouldn't have or want anybody else on it.

Consider the possibility that:

A) Steam and Facebook have his details saved, and Steam opens at startup.
B) Someone else used his computer, Steam automatically started thus giving a more recent 'Last Active' value.
C) Said person then used his Facebook account, accessing it because hid details were saved and posted the message.

I hope this can clear a few doubts.

What JRH said. ^

Steam can be set to sign in and run from windows boot up. His sister could have simply turned on the computer to use his facebook to make the statement and it could have logged in on the steam at the same time.

Anything is possible, so let's not jump to conspiracies.

This is such a shock. The last time I talked to him over Steam, we were far from friendly. Over the last few months my opinion of him changed, but we had many good conversations and I'll miss him.

RIP mate.
