This is a cute version of the Simon Says / Simple Simon game - your job is to charm the fish (before they all get turned into killers, I guess these are pirannah!) and you do this by clicking on them repeatedly until they come close enough to you, where upon they play a game. Correctly click the lights and you'll charm the fish, charm enough and try later levels.

A great many people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices.

Just to state a few extra rules that you may not know Unless you read the tutorial.

You can move the fish by holding the mouse button down.
You dont just have to play with the fish to charm them. If you make a charmed collide with a regular then it becomes charmed.
Also 2 charmed fish colliding will spawn another charmed fish.

Didn`t work. I went to install it and it said I had the latest version. The only thing I can think of is that it uses the 5.8 beta version and therefore requires a version of the directx runtime that hasn`t come out yet?

I dont think so, cant think of why it doesent work for you its worked for everyone else thus far. It also ran it on an old 500 MH system with the version of direct x I linked and it ran fine.

Sadly I get the same problem. The old 'd3dx9_24.dll missing' which is due to Microsoft releasing two slightly different versions of DirectX 9.0c

Shame, I wanted to try this one as it looks like it has a rather unique interface!

I love the underwater graphics but the game is just plain odd and I just don't get it! Not my cup of tea at all. All the menu graphics seem to be in very bad jpeg mode as well which makes game look 'cheap'. Properly saved graphics and better game description would make for a better game in my opinion.

@spooky : I wanted to redo the menus in bmp for but we had a ship fire and I was just able to rescue my laptop. After that with everything going on I just didnt have time to put shine on the menu.
I made this on my off time doing a seismic survey at sea.

@Mir: The dll needed is listed above if you have a dll error.

@ Binary Agents : Again the required dll is listed just add it to the game folder. Also I Think you will like the interface. Im kinda proud of it

@ Big Man : Thanks

@ BatVink and Sepnroth : Thanks for the help on the dll thing.

Thanks to all who have tried.

Again if you get a dll error

download the dll here:
http://www.m3fe.com/760/
and put it in the games directory.

I liked this game, it's quirky and different (in a good way). I'd be interested to see "AI" for the fish to see how they behave but there's no source included.

The graphics were workable, the underground scenery was nice and believable. A little annoyance in the Simon says game itself is the wait for "Your Turn", typical Simon just lets you jump right into the pattern after the last note if you're fast enough. I found myself waiting each turn and could hear my memory erasing as I waited! The "don't pick" mode was a little weird, am I suppose to pick opposite notes?

Anyway the game was very interesting and fun to play up to a point. Just missed my vote pile. Good job!

I'm not a real programmer but I play one with DBPro!

Thank you for the great feed back. This is my first complete piece. The dont pickmode was there to throw you but I do feel I didnt do a good enough job explaining it.
Also I had some misgivings about the wait for your turn part but didnt have enough time to test. At the very least this has been a great learning program for me

(edit) On the dont pick mode you just dont hit the notes in the place where they are played. Hit any note other than the one played

I couldn't get this game working, it loaded onto the task bar and then sad there occasionally accessing the harddrive. Hitting ctrl-alt-delete showed the program wasnt responding so I had no choice but to forcably shut it down. I gave a minute or two to load but nothing happened. Not sure what's happening.

The screen shot above looks nice and I'd definately like to try it out, but for some reason it won't run on my system, so unfortunately I can't offer a vote, sorry.

I don't suffer from insanity - I enjoy every minute of it!

On some systems this game takes a long time to load but it will load! I used compressed media If you try again and just be patient it will start. Older systems take an especiallly long time but it works. Thanks for trying hope you give it another go.

Yep, I got it working but it takes a few minutes to do it. My system isn't that old, it's a 2.08ghz cpu so it's not slow.

To the game, to be honest this feels more like an arcade game then a puzzle game. It's an interesting concept but ultimately it's a memory game at it's core. Plus I don't like the way the graphics seem to be stretched, it's as if you're taking a 1024/768 screen and scretching it over my 1280/960 desktop without any smoothening or filtering. Since I've already voted on my top 4 I can't change my vote, but since I can't class this as a puzzle game I wouldn't have voted for it for that reason, no offence.

Nicely presented, it plays ok, I think this game would work fair well as a mini-game in something bigger, like a Shenmue style game. Nice work anyway.

I don't suffer from insanity - I enjoy every minute of it!

Pro's:
Well, it's got some funky music to it.
The Menu's easy enough to use, and so is the user-interface.

Con's:
No real puzzle element ( Repeat the pattern isn't a puzzle, it's a memory test ).
Graphics are SHOCKING! Looks like you used a but-load of really low-quality JPEGS ( bad move! ).
Too many things to control ( charming, oxygen, getting the right order ) makes it not fun.

Comment:
I gave up on this after a little while as I wasn't having any fun with it at all, and it isn't a puzzle game.

Well Jess I agree there does not seem to be a definite puzzle element here I tried for something different. Also, I mentioned the concept before I even submitted the game. In my opinion anything that makes you think can be concidered a puzzle.

The reason for the O2 meter and the other additions is for a distraction. The reason is to test yourself and my intent was to make it hard. But dont mistake a game thats hard as no fun its designed to be challenging! However I apperciate you opinion and would like people to understand that I was trying to do something different
