I did a devhat once.
Lets get to business.

What is it?
Its a game like Guitar hero.
The only difference is its techno, and stuff.
The object of the game is hitting the notes at the right time of the beat. The game so far has 5 levels in it however i'm going to add more to it.

The features in the game. The means its done. The means its not done yet.
GUI + menu's
Dynamic Array!
Music Notes!
The Stage
Cords

Sure here is the old demo of it.
The name is different it was my old game name I was going to use; I like BeatJam! better though.

Make sure you read the readme file so you know how to play it.
Cheers!

How are you doing the notes for the beats? I've heard about people using a music .dll to help read in the file to produce some kind of notes, or are you manually putting in them?

The music charter maker gets the beats of any song you put in there, and records the positions of the notes. Then it saves all the notes to a music chart file, and this is all done automatically. There is no manually labor making music charts like in gutair hero; When it loads the music chart in the game the beat lines up with the music.

Its really awesome the music chart maker can play, and generate the notes with the beat on the fly.

The way it works it gets of the bass, techno effects, and some other stuff; It doesn't get every single note.

So its a little bit different than gutiar hero.

Make some lines on the board to indicate the beat, it helps me alot when playing guitar hero, but so far it looks pretty good!

since you've tested everyone's game already I'll give ya some helpful feedback for your game

(I've just played the old demo again and tried to find bugs etc.. )
I believe all you need is.. just to add some special effects for when the button is pushed, perhaps have it shake if you miss. Oh yea.. something about the misses last time i tried it if i let the note slide past it doesn't count as a miss xD.

This could be pretty cool depending on how you make up the GUI side of things, along with adding some nice textures. Well you know what you have to do, polish polish and polish ^-^ good luck on the comp.

Ohh No!! Man this sucks!

I really put my heart, and soul into this, and time runs out because of the weather, and other issues.
I was really wanting to win this one.

I can't put my entry in.
I had some matters that I couldn't get this finished its almost about done though.

i'm still going to upload the game in in a hour or so even if I didn't get the entry done in time.

Well Darkcoder looks like your going to win again.

Hi sorry its took me so long to show my game. I been having trouble with performance issues. I'm having to take the food throwing out, because it really makes your fps go down like 90 fps just throwing food. The crowd will still be there so give me a couple more days I should have the game ready then.

I might have missed the compo date, but I still think people will like this game once they see it.

Hi I decided to show you a screenshot of the game that had the performance bug in it. I already got this bugged fix now so no problems. I still got to texture some stuff, and it will be ready to be release

The crowd fully interacts to every move you make in the game.
The crowd throws food at you if you don't hit the notes!
This adds more gameplay to the game because the crowd throws food at you the food slides down the screen; This pervents you from seeing the notes.

Sorry guys I didn't get the game done in time for the compo. I couldn't release it with a 90 fps drop in gameplay it really was bad. Its all solved now thank god!

Here is some pictures of it.
the low fps you see is because the bug was in there

looks cool huh

I got this see food though fixed now.

Hi its me I finally got the game done for you; sorry it took me so long I decided not to make a practice mode, tutorial mode or options,
but I do have a text file that explains how you play it, and if there is any problems.

I'm very tired of working on this game so I left noob text in the game I didn't have time to add a pretty font to it.
Its because I got other game projects needing to get done.

To begin the game you hit new game.
Try your best to beat all the levels.
enjoy!
