For sale HERE http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=118462&b=24
OK WIP of my Castle Pack, I have lots more to come but I'm looking for C&C and ideas!
The best segment I have done I think is the spiral staircase, this comes with a curved wall so its blocked in!

56K warning for image!

Battlements that players can walk on, sections that can stick out of walls, like posts and half pillars that come out of walls, portcullis, drawbridge, castle mout, those walls with the squares on top that you shoot behind, death holes that people fire arrows out of. Gothic shape parts that we can stick on walls, we can use these to add details to plain walls, window frames, balconies, ledges. iron bars for windows. railings for your stairs, spires and towers, different types of stairs, also how about having building sections one can stick together to make bigger buildings, then one can make any building they want.

This looks great. Bearing in mind TGC took on the egyptian segment pack, if you added a bunch more to this, you could probably have a commerical pack on your hands. As much as Fallen One's list is daunting, it's actually pretty comprehensive, and has excellent suggestions,
also how about:
Drop-segment floors (for a moat), wooden roof joists, etc

The spiral stairs are really good. top work man.

How about traps as well, crushing walls, swinging blades, trap doors, spiked ceilings that drop on the player, swinging pendulums etc all that kind of a thing, we have all seen those Hammer House of horror films from the 60s/70s, make traps Vincent Price would be proud to have in his mountain retreat of woe, An extensive trap pack on its own would be just awesome, sure to get loads and loads of interest.

I've been searching for a good castle pack for ages, this would be brilliant if you made an extensive pack.

The pack looks excellent. I think it is great for multiplayer games
Btw are you including the spooky door segment you showed in the segment compo?

The problem is not if there isn't after-death-life. The problem is if there is no life in life!

I hope this gets finished, there are many model threads with excellent models / segments that always seem to be "nearly done" and never seem to get finished. I would definitely be interested in this.

what I find amazing is that no one has released a good castle wall, you know the ones with those squares on the top that people hide behind, I forget the propper name of these, they could even be made as an entity and then loaded on the fly to save comp power.

That's them, id do different versions. The one you have has the blocks submerged in the wall, id do a version with the blocks on top of the wall, it saves polys, also you have it standing out on the top segment, 3/4 up the wall, well Id make that come out more, if you use polys let them be seen, also give it the right height so that if we had stairs going up, and a platform, one can look over the walls ramparts, and lastly, the blocks making the ramparts texture are smaller on the blocks, looks a bit odd, the blocks they use on castles are mostly all the same size, makes it easier to make buildings with standardized measurements, it was the same then as it is today.

Im looking forward to this pack, I need a castle pack for one of my projects. Im amazed it hasn't been done before, I mean we have WW2 stuff in fpsc, I would of thought a castle was a must, I thought all Nazis loved castles as a base of operations.

When this pack is done I can use it with my castle skybox, it will look quite a treat

If you are going to do multiple packs, I think £3.99 to £4.99 is a fair price for each one.

For this, if it would contain a little more,

hmmm then i think 12,50/16,50 $.
Its a very good pack, with some stunning textures.
So good luck on this one!

Cheers,
