Love the HUD! It reminds me of Halo and Star Wars Republic Commando for some reason.

Upcoming computer: Vista Home Premium, AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core 5600+ 2.8ghz, Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB, and 2 gigs of RAM all at $1600... WOW

Am I the only one recognizing the hud from the Xbox version of Ghost Recon? (could be in PC or 360 versions too, not sure) It looks VERY, VERY familiar...

EDIT:

Hmm....

The shape isn't exact, as I did it totally by eye (using the pen tool in PS). The colour is also by eye, and I used a free stock photo for the guy.

So simply put, it is a hud like the GRAW one, but not the GRAW one. It is totally my own creation.

The thing is, even if it is supposedly only 'like' the one in GRAW, it's pretty easy to photoshop something to look just a tad different - which is what I'm worried about. It looks WAY too similar.

I don't want to devalue it or anything, but they aren't difficult to do if you know how. Pen tool + stroke path makes it very easy. In fact, that's probably how they did it. I'm not sure how I can prove it without sending you the psd file.

Put it this way, someone made the GRAW hud, so it isn't impossible for me to have made a similar one.

I was told to make a hud like that one. So I did.

Edit: I was saving this image for later, but what the hell. Screenie from my game's title screen. And yes, I did make all the models aswell.

Avid, in your menu, how do you make the "credit" ? Use a script ?

It's a sample, but I assume you can call up multiple things from the menu with a script, if not, I'll just leave it out.

Bleh, and I thought I was the only one who thought of putting a Credits button on the menu. BLEH!

J/k.

And it's not stealing. A HUD cannot be defined as the OUTLINE on the screen that surrounds the actual HUDs. That'd be like me trying to draw a vertical line and copyright it.

Well, I'm from the US, and over here you don't need ANY money to make a copyright. Just stick it on your work if you are 100% sure that no body has done something very similar before.

I like the Menu screen, it's very nice and gives a good feel for what you're about to get into.

Yeah, it's hard to get people to actually give you some crits on screenies. Makes you wonder what the point of even posting screenies is if no one (or very few) is going to give you any crits about it to make it better!

Just keep on truckin' and if people have some c&c for you, awesome.

But if they don't, you shouldn't be discouraged. People are still watching your game come along, they just don't have anything of note come to their minds.

So, keep it up!
