Hi Guys,

I have just integrated Air Mod V0.5 into the FPSC V1.15 source code. I am working on other things aswell but this release is mainly performance

Credit to AirSlide for the Timer system, Evolved for the Water shader and UrlForce for the Multiplayer addons and The Next for our website!

Dark Goblin and Knxrb have now joined the development team!

I would go with another name,beacause wizz means the yellow fluid that comes out of your body so its a bit werid.I would go with Wizmod.Otherwise good job,ill try it.

Here is a screenshot of WizMod running a very large outdoor area at a fairly high FPS, but because of the timer system the FPS doesnt really matter as it pretty much always runs smoothly

There is no 60 FPS limit, the sync rate it set to 0. Should I change it?

yeah too many FPS (on high spec machines) are pointless as it only displays as fast as the monitor can. 60 is plenty anyway.

Go to "C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\" Folder

Rename FPSC-Game.exe to something like FPSC-Game Original.exe (So you have the original if you want to revert back)

Then copy and paste the Modded exe into the FPSC Folder.

Thats it. There is not much to it

FPSC will automatically use the modded version when testing or building your game.

I've experienced the problem where the eyehud stays, but apart from that this is excellent! Good job!

I will do my best! I will give this fresnel water a try aswell, although I will make it an option in the setup.ini file so it can be turned on and off for performance. Dont know if it will work, but hey I will give it a shot

Thanks I dont have a lot of time to work on it so it wont be anything special, mainly just performance improvements. It will give people a mod with a good performance and maybe some basic features until other mods are upgraded.

Making the eyehud invisible solves the problem - this isn't how you should fix it of course but it's a quick fix for those using the mod until you can make it work.

Press 'X' / 'T' to cap it / uncap it (or the other way round). The mod is uncapped but reduced to 60 FPS.

I have set the sync rate to 60 although like nickydude said if you use the X and T keys it will cap it, but also the V key will cap it to 38. I still have to do some fine tuning to it, but I am mainly focusing on fixing the blood HUD bug.

well this might help, i noticed that in v0.5 of airmod that the eyehud was changed to fade out instead of disappearing

The performance is great! I'm having a little trouble with the ambiance though. In normal V1.15, I can set the ambiance to say... 10, and the RGB ambiance to 10, and this removes the ability to use the <> keys to change it in game. In other words, it locks the ambiance in at 10. With this MOD, no matter what I set the ambiance at, the <> keys take it from full dark to full bright.

Can anyone else verify this and if so, is there a fix?

EDIT: Good news! The issue is still in test mode, but all works correctly in a built game. Thanks for letting us test/use this. The performance was always my biggest concern. I can get around the rest if the speed holds up.

EDIT: Good to see that it worked xplosys. I kinda got sidetracted working with trying to solve the "HUD" that refuses to go away...

The airmod developer package (source code) is only available on public release for 0.5 as on the link below

You can only download the user package for airmod 0.6 although I'd be very suprised if airslide doesn't provide it now the FPSC v1.15 source is available.

Once you've ironed out the eyehud and ambience issues you might want to consider uploading this to the OpenFPSC project as a baseline to give other developers a head start with the community mod project.

Thanks guys for all the feedback Glad you like it! I will take a look at the ambience problem your having xplosys.

I noticed that it fades rather than disappears, I will see if this is part of the problem.

Oh and in the update I will release tomorrow hopefully, I have a way to increase performance even more
@hockeykid - has airmod v0.06 source been released? I thought only an exe version was available, that's why I went with v0.05.

Perhaps. We have quite a few things that we plan to add. In addition, this mod seems to be slightly unstable.


If anyone has any crashes, please tell us what you did, or didnt... and any additional info so that we can fix it. Thanks.

I think that you can get airmod 0.6 by emailing airslide (not sure though) anyways

As soon as I installed this new DarkBASIC Pro update I can't compile ANYTHING, its all syntax errors for the simplest of programs. Every program.

Ive got an idea for the mod,more ingame menus like options would be great.The best thing for now to implent would be maybe ragdoll and dynamic polygonal collision.So we can finally have swinging axes and realistic doors.

I must be missing something here...

What did you do to make this Mod again?

All I see is that you implemented AirMod V0.05 into the newest source. You also mention something about performance. Is this performance something you did?

I mean, what I'm trying to say is, what did YOU do that makes this your Mod and not just AirMod in V1.15? You seem to have not listed anything about that, so I'm curious.

Well Ply its the first 1.15 mod with Airmod in.He made it just beacause 1.15 has all bugs fixed and missing recoil and stuff so he added it in.

I can see that, but I'm wondering what makes it "WizMod v1.0" and not "AirMod V0.5 in FPSC V1.15"

I assumed he did something to make it his own... so that's what I was asking. From the initial post it sounded like he added something to improve performance and I wanted him to elaborate a bit more on the subject.
