£59.99... It is really not a good idea just to post the dollars, as a lot of media comes as dollars for pounds, so that would be £99. You are not selling your product as well as you could by just posting the dollars. For example.. movies are sold dollars for pounds. |

Meh, typical. Just about to on holiday (Thursday coming) so I'm broke and this comes up. I really wanted DarkNet and DarkData. Hope the deal stays around for a few weeks (Possibly a month?!) Anyway I'll buy this as soon as I can =) TGC must be having a wonderful sale. DS Bonanza, FPSC Bonanza, Character Pack and now this deal too! |

As far as I am aware no problems with the 2D Kit and X Quad on Vista. |

I'll be testing all TGC Products on Windows 7 as soon as my pre-ordered copy arrives. Please remember that the offical retail release of Windows 7 doesn't take place in the UK until the 22nd of this month. So realistically it will be the 25th before there's a chance it will be in my hands. As soon as it is, I'll start a Windows 7 compatibility thread much as I did for Vista a couple of years ago. |

I've tried the gamedemo for the x-quad editor and it does'nt work for me on Vista, Nor do half the stuff in the Extends plug-in. I have thought about purchasing the X-quad editor in the past, But sinse the game demo did not work I refuse to buy the product unless i have a working DEMO of the editor itself and a working Gamedemo of the exported product sinse an editor demo would most likely not compile. It's too bad that it did'nt work for me cause I would have bought this program months ago when I did try the demo. The other editor I was looking at the time was the realm crafter but in the end I bought neither of them. However if I can see a FULLY working version for vista on the x-quad than i'll still consider buying it. |

WTH? I cannot get this to work on Vista either(gamedemo) - game.exe has stopped working message that details problem event as APPCRASH and module as ntdll.dll(dunno if thats all the info needed). Also I have the appropriate plugins to compile the source, everything compiles fine but when running from the editor the executable returns the same message but names the module d3d9.dll instead. If I run the executable on its own in xp sp2 compatability mode(something that usually works with extends from what I remember, but iirc xgui demos fail on Vista no matter what); it just quits after changing resolutions. I have latest dx9 installed and latest dbp upgrade. Will a fix for Vista users be looked into? If not then why not detail this as a limitation for the product? It feels like this was just thrown in as part of the offer without testing on Vista - or am I doing something wrong?? I was looking forward to playing with this - perhaps I shouldn`t look at purchasing anything from the odyssey-creators in future. Thats now 2 products by them that don`t work for me. Please advise. |

Sorry for double post - seems to work in compatability mode for Win 95 - haven`t fully tested though. For the gamedemo at least. For extends projects like xgui - stuff in 2d folder - every thing works if you to create the exe and change its compatability to win 95. Iirc there is at least 1 limitation to doing this - memblock sizes are limited - you can`t have large ones(>256mb I think or maybe 128?). I am having issues running exes compiled from source for the levels created with xquad. Compatability mode doesn`t work - I get the same error as before but this time dbpcore.dll is the module named. Also, line 239 " Message "Warning, Doors physic not reseted" " of the file XQuadEditor_GameSetup.dba does not compile. In any case I shouldn`t have to fiddle about changing compatability modes like this(and having the memblock limit). This should have been checked before sale surely? By now a lot of people will be using Vista so I fail to see why the limitation has not been tested thoroughly or why there is no mention of this issue in advertisement or documentation. I do not feel that providing a demo for us to test before purchase is a reasonable excuse - demos should be provided for us to see if we like a product.(I say this as I seem to remember someone pointing this out to an angry customer on the forum - not sure which product though and the thread is truly burried now). Still its an hour of my life I will never get back. All of this said the other products in the pack that I wanted are still a bargain, so don`t let me put you off. Edit: Re memblock limit - try this code with compatability mode on for win 95 then with it off; + Code Snippet now try it but replacing 256 with 255 |

Exactly, that's why I asked. May be the editor itself is ok but the demo isn't, might be an idea to update the demo to work on Vista / W7 so we can take a look ourselves. |

Acccording to the order page The X Quad promotion ends 31st December 2009. Just bought it myself. Though I am disappointed that I have to wait for an activation code for X-Quad. With the wife out of town it was the perfect couple of nights to spend time with all the new tools. X-Quad did at least run on Vista and I could check things out. Still a bit sloppy as no installer include, install instructions are not for the zipped version provided and of course having to wait for it's activation code after getting all the rest of the codes. Also website screen shots are way different the the default layout it starts up in but at least that matchs the included pdf manual file. |

Ok right from TGC support about X-Quad Editor "You don't need a serial number. Just download from your order history and install. The latest release has had the activation requirement removed." The file I downloaded had no installer but did seem to run fine out of the directory I unzipped everything to. So I will set my self up a launch icon and maybe add it to the program menu. It seems to run on Vista ok. I was able to view things, load , save, edit, was able to use Dark Physic and AI, etc.... but I haven't spent hours in it yet to tell you more. Now that I know I don't need to activate it I can spend more time working with. I already have directX 9 (and 10) installed on my Vista box. I am pretty sure you do need directX 9 installed as X-Quad is a Darkbasic Pro created program like FPSC. Speaking of FPSC I moved it to my Vista box too as my XP machine fried. I was very pleased at how well it runs. |

I'd like to a "BUILD YOUR OWN BUNDLE" special in the store sometime. I only need to purchase Dark Clouds, Dark Ink, Dark Video, STYX and Enhancements Pack. The new add supported free version of Dark Basic Professional is very exciting! I can't wait to spread the word. I hope this means that the expansion packs will start selling like mad. ![]() |

I'd vote for that. It gets rather annoying to find that the six different things you want are spread thinly across three different "bundles" so you end up with lots of things you don't want AND multiple copies of things you DO want. |

I think they do that on purpose to make you spend more money on things. Your signature has been erased by a mod because we're sadistic losers with nothing better to do. (joke) |
