Seems impossible? No not really(not exactly my first time anyway). I've actually have around 40 models complete that I've never shown to the public and have been meaning to release for free. So for the next 100 days I'll be posting one model per day for download.

This project has 2 missions. One, to provide free media to the community and two, too promote my new website. All the content up for grabs will be on my site, Vault section under FPSC Media. The site is still in WIP phases, so some changes will occur over the next week or two.

Here's my website, be sure to check it out daily as more then just FPSC media will be updated.

Alright, time for project start!

The book stand looks superb! A very simple idea that could be used in a lot of places. Thanks for the download.

Your endeavor sounds fantastic, I'm quite excited to follow along with your progress! I'll head over to your site right now and check it out. It's very generous of you to give so much time and energy away.

Hope it goes well,

Cheers!

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

If anyone hasn't notice, there is a central theme here. The first 20 or so models all tie together leading up to an epic last model. Hint: 'I cast at the Darkness!'

Wow!
These look great and it is quite the undertaking to give out 100 models in 100 days.

I can imagine that scroll stand being animated/scripted for the new limb detection.
Pick the wrong one and something bad might happen. (I'll have lots of fun with that one)

I love the theme and I look forward to the next couple months of downloads.

Thanks!

If you do that, can you release the script, it would be realy fun to use...

It will probably be awhile before I get a chance to do it, as it was just a thought when I saw it and not really something I plan to do today.

The script would be dependent on how the model gets animated and how many limbs are added and defined in the FPE.
I cannot release Josh's model without permission from him first.
If it is okay with him then I'll add whatever I do to it here in his thread as a zip file.

What are the restrictions on these models Josh?

It was hard not to imagine it when looking at his screenshot.

I threw 3 scrolls into the stand (800 polys total nice low poly count Josh) and did 260 frames for the various combinations for their removal.
I'll script it later because I need to download Lee's limb detection tool on my netbook.

Thinking about the poly count though, I found a discrepancy.
I got 800 total but that was more than the 168*3 (504) + the 148 for the stand.
I get 296 total for the shelf, not 148.

EDIT
Attachment removed.
I had overlooked his desire to have only his models in this thread.

That's odd, because it worked fine for me.
Try, try again.

@Josh
I noticed you forgot the 003 prefix on the file name for the mort_pest.zip
Not that it bothers me, I just wanted you to be aware of it in case you want to change that for consistency.

EDIT
I removed the code snippet and video for the limb detection on the scroll shelf.
I had overlooked Josh's request to have only his models in this thread.
Sorry Josh, my bad.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention metal devil.

I never noticed his wish to have no other media here either. (obviously)
I'll take my script and video down now.
I would still like to know the restrictions on the downloads, so I can post my modified version in another thread hopefully.

Sorry Josh
I had overlooked that statement.

I'm retracting this statement, you guys can post edits, re-textures and scripts here all you want. ...no idea what I was thinking before.

All media has the SRF license.

Conjured Entertainment:
You were right on the polygon count, I was looking at the face count, not poly count.

Alright, look forward to some more. Now the models start to get a little more complex, not the simple primitive shaped models as before.

Basically it means you can do whatever you want with the media except redistribute the original file individually for any reason.

Edited versions I'm giving permission to redistribute.

EDIT
I don't know if it's just me, but the necrotome doesn't seem to have a .fpe with it, so it doesn't show up in editor unless you make one...

I just used some of your entities in the level I've been making. They fit in perfectly, and I just did a quick script so the necrotome would 'summon' a labotomy... I'll have to look through my media and find something more ghost/demon like to be summoned.

Very kul Thraxas! I'm glad people are actually using these models.

Thanks for pointing out I forgot the fpe file too. You've earned some super points for that. Download is updated.

To everyone else, to repeat what I've already said, you can use these models for any commercial or non-commercial project. You just cannot redistribute any model as it's original form by itself for any reason. Re-textures and model edits to enhance their usage for FPSC are allowed and you can redistribute.

Some random stats: 122 downloads in 7 days.

Can you give me a link, or at least tell me what the letters in the SRF stand for???
Thanks

Sorry CE, it's sands for Standard Royalty Free.

Taken from TS:

But I'm allowing redistribution of edited textures, major model changes or if you made a custom animation and script for FPSC. If it benefits the community then I'm all for it. I'm actually quit curious to see your custom scroll animation CE. Let's see it!

EDIT:
Also, not sure if anyones having trouble with the collision for the table, but if you set it to poly collision instead of box collision in FPSC then it collides perfectly. Not exactly sure how to set that in the fpe file. Any help is appreciated. The table might be a little big too.

It was nothing special, just set up 3 of the scrolls in the shelf to play with the limb detection.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to show you because its on my other computer at the office, and I am home for the evening.
I'll be going to the office tomorrow though to submit my final draft of the research paper I've been working on, so I'll upload it then.

Quote: "Also, not sure if anyones having trouble with the collision for the table, but if you set it to poly collision instead of box collision in FPSC then it collides perfectly. Not exactly sure how to set that in the fpe file. Any help is appreciated."

I guess if you assign limbs then it will do the poly collision instead of box. (someone correct me if I'm wrong because maybe that is just for shot detection, not sure)
So if you add a bone and assign the whole mesh to it then it would be really easy to set up the FPE.
You'll get to see some limb assignments in the example I post tomorrow.

EDIT
Here is a video of the scroll shelf/stand with limb detection... (see attachment)
