Welcome to the official 2014 edition of "What are you working on?" Large image and super creativity warning ahead!!

Looking forward to a fantastic year of awesome 3D wips!

To start us off, here is my latest wip, a car model. Getting the base done then I plan to up the polys to roughly 10-15k.

Been working on a Dolphin model, which still needs work done and tweaking before I texture it.

Still plugging away at this one from last year. I'm pretty happy with the bakes, they need some clean up at the edges but that's to be expected.

Started blocking in a color scheme but have not yet started painting in any detail. Specular map also has not been started and the hair needs a lot of attention still, but progress is progress.

High poly sculpt is on top, mapped low poly is on bottom:

The arms are not bad, but the torso needs some work. I would recommend spending more time at a lower subdivision and work with a smoothing tool at low strength to polish and blend the forms more.

The muscles bulge a bit too much, particularly on the back and sides and some fine blending will help with this.

keep at it man!

I did redo the back, and improved the sides somewhat.
This is - even though i'm aware of multiple issues, where i'll stop the sculpt : ) Will try a bake however, see how that turn out.
At any rate - I'm aware the torso is somewhat bad, the feet was never intended - and the hands are sub-par. The legs are meh. I'm extremely happy with the arms and head though.

<big picture on DA - i know the first pic I managed to somehow get lowres version of :S>

nice man, the torso and back are much better now. legs aren't bad really they are just too large proportionally to every thing else. and don't quite have the same level of detail / definition

I would personally recommend P3D, although, does that website you linked have any restrictions upon how big models you can upload? (mb wise)

50mb I believe for free users, 500mb for paid.

Took a look at p3d, seems to be slightly better quality with rendering and shaders. Really cool.

P3d also offers 100mb for free users, and a option to customise how much to pay, you can pay 1$ for 500mb, and for each $ you gain 500 more space - for 6$ you get more options etc
per month that is, but i find that a really cool system
http://p3d.in/ is the link for those wondering ^^

P3d (View in 3D)

lets see if this works..
Anyway - finished the lowpoly, and managed to bake it. - pretty darn happy with how it turned out!
however I know of most of the issues (arm seams and leg weirdies)

I've been using ZBrush to model for the first time. I have used it before to clean up models, but not to actually build a model from a base mesh. The base mesh certainly helps, so all I had to do was change the face, model the hair, and build the clothes. I made the teeth in Anim8or, and added them as a subtool. I don't usually model people anyway. But my latest project needs witches, so I chose Zbrush to model with. I made the textures in Photoshop first so that I could use them as reference images. The faces are made from various people, and various edits. The clothes are made from many clothes, and edits. I didn't add the creases to the skirt, because she will animate, and I thought it might be best to figure out the creases from the animation.

Still need to make the hat, and maybe the collar... depends on the hair.

Something different (hopefully it wont stretch out..)

First time doing anything animal related aswell - so i'm aware that it might not look too great (the back legs have gotten their knees fixed btw, i know they were going the "wrong way".)

edit; For bigger picture, click on it and on the photobucket website click the (zoom) button on the lower right corner of the picture twice.

Long time no post! Hello everybody. Glad to see there are still familiar faces. This is the recent thing I made.

Can I ask how to view old posts? I'd like to see what my first model was that I posted on here just to see how far i've come.

Click the profile button at the bottom of your post, there will be an option to view threads you have created, no ability to see individual posts though, you can try google forum search bottom of the page for that

Last post to wrap this one up. Hair and textures need more polish, but it's time to move on for now. I'm working on getting a few things in order for a demo level in preparation for starting a full project WIP.

Up and running in DBpro:

So this is a church i made (hopefully all 4 pics got here alright, and not 4 copies of one pic..)

We were to made a church, that we got assigned to us in 3d - I got this one;

A church in my city even - so I had the opportunity to go there and gather references myself, instead of relying on the ones on the internet.

the school I go to now is a preparing course towards LTU Graphics course (or however you say it in english). This was one of our first 3d assignments and I do think I did very well - quite happy with it ^^ Ofc there are lots of things I could've done better; the roofs for example, or I could've actually modelles a simple "fence" to put there (in the middle) but overall I think it turned out alright.

Also we did use Blender, and now I do feel that i'm more and more drawn towards it. School has converted me into Blender.. That's odd xD

I would probably leave the fence for alpha planes, if it were to be a real time asset.

Looks really nice on the whole

Looking cool Quik! Cool to see where you've come over the years.

Kinda just wanted to chime in and say hi to whoever still frequents these boards. What's up?

For content here's something I'm working on for an assignment, made the concept below and am currently doing the high poly. Really basic blocking out of shapes so far so don't really expect anything too amazing.
