Nice to see people are putting their projects up and I've finally started mine.

I'm using AppGameKit and I've gone with the 3D racer, basing it on one of my 20 line challenges.

There's more info on my WIP thread on the AppGameKit showcase board but I thought I'd put a post here to let people know the project exists as I know not everyone looks at all the other boards.

Here's the link: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=209452&b=48 and there's also a playable demo.

Looks like you have a fun amount of inertia there!

Thanks for the comments.

However, it's now February 1st which basically means I have failed to make a game in a month.

I did manage to get a few things done.

and I've coded quite a bit (for some reason I started with the menus)

I've also learned some new stuff:

- creating custom fonts and sub-images
- baking textures in blender
- tokens (as in string delimiters)
- beginning to learn shaders

so that's pretty good.

I'm going to keep on with the game until it's finished (whatever finished turns out to be) but I feel that I want to get it done as quickly as possible.

I quite liked the idea of having a short time scale, it gives a certain focus with no time for messing about, but I doesn't take much of a wrinkle in the fabric of space and time to throw such plans out the window.

Still working on this:

I think the blue sky and yellow track gives this a something of a beach vibe.

I'm finding the graphics pretty impressive for AppGameKit, I haven't seen a whole lot of 3D projects using it. Looks good!

New sig coming soon..

Thanks.

I just tried to keep it simple and bright.

I made my own shader to do the lighting as AppGameKit only support one point light and one directional light and the game uses two point lights (one at the front of the car and one at the back that lights up as the thrust "flame" increases) and I also set a lower minimum light level to give a stronger contrast.

The current 3D commands in AppGameKit are a fairly primitive (although the rotation and movement commands are so much better than DBP native) and I think that puts people off but I don't mind it. In some ways I actually prefer it.

I'm only about five weeks late but I've finished!

Features:
- 3 cars
- 6 tracks
- no brakes

There's a windows and android version available, both can be downloaded from here:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=209453&b=51

And remember, you have to drive fast 'cause there are no brakes!
