Hej guys!

Put simply, not all AppGameKit projects/games work on Windows 8.1 ... However, some do! This ofcoure then led me to ask the following questions:
Why do some AppGameKit projects/games run whilst others donot?
Can older OS\' run projects/games compiled with Win 8.1?

Therefore, I created a very simple little project, with just some standard features, to test this. If you could please download the zip accompanying the third post and test it (without compile-ing DUH) and let me know:
What OS you tested it on?
Did it work?
If not, can you find out why?

I am not really sure why some projects run and others donot, if anyone knows anything on this subject please feel free to let us know! TGC? Are you aware of this? I guess I will try updating all my drivers and see if that changes anything... Although, I have little faith in that solution. AppGameKit should work on all the Windows OS\' and it works fine for me in 8.1 ... But why do the games crash instantly?

I tried running the projects in compatability mode etc to no avail... After troubleshooting, all I recieved was a \"incompatible program\" error and no options to do anything about it.

Thanks!

TESTED
Windows 7

cheers

It doesn't run on Windows 7. The image path is wrong in the source and the bytecode file has not been renamed.

Post one that works on W7 and not W8.

Possible reason for failure is not having read/write/modify privileges for your text file write.

I'm pretty sure that the image path is correct, works for me...?

Its Windows 8.1 not windows 8. I know that Win 8 works fine.

[EDIT] My fault! Just had the wrong files... here try this (download on post)

cheers

Works on W7. So that's a start!

I'm afraid I don't have W8.x machine availale so I'll leave that to others.

My intern uses a Windows 8 machine and we've not been able to figure out why some things work and others don't.
It's been extremely annoying and we've not been able to find a reason. Would be nice if (AGK) someone can figure it out. Not sure why it has gone unattended to for so long.
