I am creating an interface with Sprites in the foreground. Using the most current version of DarkCLOUDS (150610), the sprites are washed out; very faint. I have tried every command I can think of to affect the ambient light, or whatever to stop these faded-looking sprites. I don't know if its a bug, but I reverted back to the original release (290909) and the problem has disappeared. But, I've also lost the ability to create the sun and moon images to use and/or cirrus cloud layers.

The newer version (150610) looks much better, and I would love to find out how to correct this issue.

I've attached an image showing what is going on.

I don't have dark clouds so I can not confirm if it is the problem.
Are you using the default sprite commands in DBPro?
If you think that Dark Clouds are conflicting with the default sprite commands you could try a third party plugin for sprites.

Here are a link to two options, both are free.
I am using the advanced 2d and have had no problems.
But I am not using Dark Clouds.

@ aerostudios

- did either of those options work?

- did you find an alternative solution?

a long time dabbler with DBC and DBPro with no actual talent but lots of enthusiasm...

I haven't tried anything else yet. Just reverted back to the initial release, and the sprites are behaving correctly. Plus, the original release of DarkCLOUDS is a little better performer anyway.

Would using 3D planes with Images on them not avoid this issue? [Although I have found transparency issues on objects with using Dark Clouds running]

Just a suggestion...

But have you resolved this yet?

I believe the creators of DC have moved onto a new product and as such DC may be discontinued, I could be wrong however, try contacting them about the sprite issue...

You can find them here http://simul.co/ with a lovely landline number which if you have free Skype minutes you can use Skype to call them for free

Funny enough they are just down the road from me in Liverpool

Please do let us know if you do contact them!

MrValentine, I have just stayed with the older version of DarkClouds and sprites are behaving as they should. The newer version of DC allows for 2 cloud layers vs. 1. But I'm okay with the older version. It provides realistic clouds for my air traffic tower simulator; and that is the goal. It is not affecting sprites now. So I'll just stick with it.
