I receive this message when I run programs created using AGK(v1 or v2) on my Microsoft Surface Pro 2: "Failed to create XAudio2, make sure your version of DirectX is up to date. Error: 2147746132". I attached the dxdiag.txt file. Anyone run into this?

I reported this in W8.1 errors thread.

Probably needs DX 9.0c, but I haven't had time to try.

XAudio2 is part of DirectX, as mentioned in the other thread... Are you using any antivirus other than the first party one...

We use XAudio 2.7 which was the last version to be compatible with old versions of Windows (back to XP). Windows 8 only comes with XAudio 2.8, and is exclusive to Windows 8, so to get the old versions of XAudio you will need to install the DirectX End-User Runtime files. You can download them from Microsoft here, most games these days install these runtime components as part of their installation.
