Hello guys! Trying to decide, stay with AppGameKit or move to another game-engine(maybe Unity). Because I don't know anything about the new AppGameKit functions in the second version and when it will be released (just some promised features). What you guys are thinking about that some game-engines already have stabile work, full game-dev features, many file-formats support (fbx,3ds,ogg, etc..), multi-platform support with fast porting and even visual-based game creation, which helps you to create games much easier? Is there any sense to stay with AppGameKit and wait for a very important functionality I need? Cause I'm an indie developer and the more game-engine helps me, the better!

v2 is still in developement, you can see new features/progress in kickstarter.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tgc/app-game-kit-v2/posts

i like also shiva engine/game maker/fusion , its very good.
shiva engine is good for 3d.
other big games engines price is ~200 EURO

fusion is visual editing,it look easy but it did not do what you expect^^

Unity Pro cost $1500, but there is free version with cutted functionality(but even with that functionality you'll get very and very powerful tool!). With AppGameKit If you earn > $100'000 on your game - you must pay $1000, so it's not a big difference. And even if you pay more for better engine - that money saves your time and improve the game-quality to earn much more on your game! So I'm thinking...

And I know about that features. I need to see all of commands.

Pricing
The standard price for AppGameKit is $59. However companies with turnover greater than $100,000 have to pay $999 per computer.

If you earned enough for that AppGameKit clause to come into effect then you surely wouldn't worry about handing over 1% of it.

And if you thought you were going to earn $100k+ and Unity Pro was so much more powerful and more productive then you wouldn't be worried about spending $1500 on that either. You would already have bought it.

I'm spending a lot of time to make my games. 1,5-2 years for each. Most of time I'm drawing, modeling and animating. So I have no time to search the engines and learn new ones. So I need to decide or continue with AppGameKit or move to the other one. And without full list of ver.2 commands I'm confused...

you do not need to learn the engine, just take a week to test the demo versions.
for 3d i whould say on this world exists 5 good ones,
3 of them can handle 3d animations well and they have an level editor.
unity,shiva,unreal,Torque,...
for 3d animations u need fbx or (open) collada import if u not
create the models in the editor from engine.

the 3d part commands are not full implemendet in v2 alpha,
so nobody knows the comming commands.

Thank you Markus. But I think I've made my choice. Unity it's a great tool full of features. If even Blizzard and Rovio have chosen Unity, it's big deal. AppGameKit doesn't even support non-unicode characters... I had to create this by my self, thanks to C++... Finishing this AppGameKit project and will move to Unity...
