Hello everyone! this might be a silly mistake or something on my part, but when I try to make a file with the opentowrite command, I do not know where that file is being produced. I remember it was the AppGameKit folder in myDocuments, but I do not see it there or a folder of the app. What is the directory of making files and reading them in AppGameKit 2.0? Thanks in advance!

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\AGKApps\<appname>\media

That should be where it is. I think.

That's correct. And ultimately where the files should be. I imagine this will also make Win 8+ issue less prevalent. Unfortunately, the folder is hidden and sort of a pain to access since unhiding it also shows hidden files on your desktop :/

I'm amazed everytime I use Windows how utterly stupid some (read 'a lot') of Microsofts decisions are. My daughter has recently got a laptop with Windows8 and that has taken my amazement to new dumbfounding levels.

Actually, it would be better to write to the user's Documents folder. That is not hidden.

there is a new command GetDokumentPath as Parameter for SetRawWritePath.

my view is that the app should ask for a folder and default
this stubit appdata folder.

Appdata is the best place to save configuration files, game data etc. That way users don't delete vital stuff.

@JimHawkins
not agree "best place"
also this path with app data is a good place for viruses and trojas
because its default hidden.
a friend of me did not know about existing this folder.

Since about 99% of programs save their data there I suspect you may be wrong, Markus. Hidden folders have nothing to do with viruses.

Except those that regularly check stuff there.

It's hidden, because allot of people would mess with the files there, if they were visible...
