Hi,

AGK2 is NOW available on Steam. We're reaching out to our experienced community and hoping you can help to start populating the community hub for AGK2. The sort of things we'd like to see;

- Your own screen shots & app artwork
- Guides to help new users get started
- Reviews of AGK2 (positive ones we hope!)
- Helpful comments in discussions

Ideally we'd like you to jump in right now and start contributing.

AGK2 Community Hub

AGK2 Product Page

Thanks!

Rick

Not easy installing it on steam, for a non-steam user... I had to google it for a long time, before I found that I had to activate AppGameKit 2 from the small "Games" menu item on the top left. Hope this helps someone

Good luck on this guys. If it were me I probably would have held off until the 3D animation commands were done. That might be a deal breaker for some people. I hope not, but..

best.

When installing the steam version, it re-used the old compiler path from the non-steam install I already uninstalled.

I had to change the compiler path to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\App Game Kit 2\Tier 1\Compiler

You do that from the Build -> Build Options... menu.

Since when is this difficult or confusing? Have you never activated a product on Steam or Origin before or something...? Oh wait, you said non-Steam user... but then why are you using Steam?

Sorry, not being very on-topic or helpful here...

I hate Steam...sorry. If I had known from the beginning that you would us Steam as your delivery platform, I'm not sure I would have pledged. For installing and playing games Steam is fine, but I do not want to deal with Steam when I am trying to upgrade my development toolset.

Steam isn't their delivery platform, you can still buy it direct from TGC themselves. They just have it available on Steam as well, to reach a broader audience.

That's how I found the demo, anyway

You don't have to use Steam at all. TGC sells directly via their website.

They are not asking you to like Steam, they're asking you to like AppGameKit to attract more new users (and consequently more new development).

More users on and off Steam is better for all of us ultimately.
