Hi All,

I hope those of you who've backed AGK2 are loving it.

I've come across a potential issue with sound playback and need your feedback to try to track down the cause.

Sounds, in this case voice recordings appear to play once and then never repeat. Has this or similar happened to other users? If so, what sound formats are you using, and what kind of effects are they? I ask what kind, as it's very obvious that a voice doesn't play, as you are listening for it, but if other more common sounds are being missed they may not be immediately apparent.

Many thanks,

SC

I haven't spotted any problems. What format files are you using? Which platform?

Hi,

Sorry for the late response. I've attached an example file. I don't think it's a format issue, as the sound sometimes plays.

Any feedback will be helpful.

Can you make a small example program so that we can test?

i had/have clicks in looping wave files.
the loop was exact in sound editor.
no reason for clicks.
i spend a week with this issue and i end up with a
workaround.
this happens at my piano app.

The wavs will loop more or less instantly, so it's important to have a sensible cross-over from start to finish. Zero-crossing is good, but won't necessarily stop clicks.

Also - There could be confusion between the ID of the sound and the soundinstance value return when play starts. The soundinstance is invalid when the sound stops, so you can't resuse it.
