If I have understood everything right it goes like this in Agk2:

For now you can load .obj and .ago format character models.

Ago format is Agk:s own format.

Agk2 can't now use character models animations.

But you can use SoftMotion3D's AGKSM3D -editor to make animated characters
from parts of a character (you have to make/get those parts)

Also now Agk2 has very slow loading time of .obj models.
It will be corrected in the future version of Agk2.
In the meantime, you can use SoftMotion3D's SaveAGO application to
convert .obj to .ago

That's correct Mikko, 3D animation is coming soon. Not sure if Paul is working on a debugger first but if not I imagine it might even be in progress.

obj load times have been fixed in the latest release according to the most recent update on the official development thread.
