Hi, I've not posted anything on here in a long time. Life has got in the way!

As an avid DarkBASIC user, I'm really interested in AppGameKit, but I would like to know a few things before I jump in.

I used to use D3D (or whatever the plugin for DB was called) for all the drawing of squares etc. Can you achieve similar results with AppGameKit? Gradients with alpha?

I'm guessing the only way to create an app that can access a mySQL database, would be to create the app in C++? or is there a plugin available for BASIC?

Quote: "WebMySQL
WebMySQL is a Web interface to a MySQL database server. It supports the following SQL queries: SELECT, DESCRIBE, JOIN, SHOW, DROP, CREATE, and USE, and advanced query options such as LIMIT, DISTINCT, and GROUP. Empty databases and tables and mysqldump file imports and exports are supported. It has a fully customisable look and feel, and outputs either HTML results or a downloadable CSV file."

Napland Games have a very useful tutorial on how to create a MySQL high score table using the HTTP commands and a little php script. Find it here. (Originally posted in TGC April 2014 Newsletter).

There is also a very cool image blend routine available in the forums for fading between two images. Very handy for blends and transitions... I'll post a link if I can find it.

Thank you Markus & CJB.

I know php etc, so that's good CJB! Even though the game I'm designing is fairly simple from a graphics perspective, a few blends and stuff would be nice
