Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, but i asked in a thread before this one, and i got no replys, so i assume it's ok.

Vatan is a fps\rpg game under development ( think of system shock2 but with more action ).
We are in need of mappers to be able to speed up the development.
I uploaded a small ingame video that shows off combat over here :

http://fysoftware.com/t_video/

Theres also some screenshots in our site :
http://fysoftware.com

If interested, please email me at brunomtc_@_hotmail.com (please remove the _ )

thank you

Hey did you used Cartography Shop or Dark Basic Pro to develop this game.

1) If yes, you used on or both of them, then its SUPERB game and I may even join you;

2) If no, then why the hell you are posting it here?!

Sorry if it sounded a bit rough!

heh, not rough at all, fair questions

Nope, neither Dark Basic or Cartography Shop are used in this game, but Cartography Shop can be used, as our engine can load maps made by Cartography Shop.
Why am i posting here ? Well, searching for talented people, that's about it.

What language did you use to make this wonder? It looks totally awesome. It reminds me heavily of Far Cry(which is a good thing ).

Look up in the right-top corner of the screen there is a combobox where you can directly go to any forums page, you should select something like OFF TOPIC > PROGRAMMING TALK or GAME MAKING > 3Dimensional CHAT and there you should post any team based posts!

This is relevant to CShop, since they are looking for mappers.

Is a demo available?

If you post a demo, a lot of people will try making maps for it, just to play their own map.

The gun really needs to point less to the centre. He would be completely missing the centre of the screen.

I have experienced this same thing. You put up awesome pictures of something you worked really hard at, and all you get is nit-picking.

This is clearly the most promising indie game I have ever seen.

It's nice!? Are you serious!? It's astounding to say the least.
This is the first indie game I've seen in a loooonnngg time that can back up it's commercial game comparison. Jesus Christ! It even has a bird!

This game deserves praise, not pointers!
good luck with your game.

I'm still confused why a Vatan gameplay movie is still on the site Josh. And screenshots in the "User section". "User section" implies that programs made by Leadwerks were used in development, but it's already been said:

All them shots look outstanding!!

@FXTC, those screen shots further up, with the reflection shading on water, distance fog etc, what GPU was that rendered on? What I find really attractive about one of the shots above was the crane in the distance. I get good vibes from seeing heavy machinary in games, like the big electric magnet crane in HL2, the cable car level in RTCW. And hey, lets not forget the awesome bridge level on Highway 17!!!

Any levels with this kind of scenario.... <drewls>

Paul.

Snipa Masta, I am working with FY Software to make 3DWS their map editor. You haven't seen the terrain in the editor, but it can easily be used to make what they already have established, and they will be using it shortly. I need screenshots, and don't see a problem with it. It's just tiled blended terrain.

Yup, all our structures will be imported into Cartography shop, and exported directy to the game, we haven't done that yet because the lightmapping is not working yet in the Beta version.
Cartography Shop will be our main editor for Vatan.

@Snipa Masta - old demo not use CShop...But full game will use Cshop4.1 and specially version 5 3DWorldStudio - have *.fy exporter(vatan format).

@APEXnow yes all is realtime rendered, with good fps.

Vatan use shaders,Newton physic and lua script....

It does Josh, just having a workaround while the fy exporter from world studio is not working with lightmapping

I emailed Jake about that because I lost Bruno's email.

Yes, I can add Quake 3 map export. It's the same format, with some minor changes.

Ah, I looked at the .fy format and it DOES support lightmaps. Sweet! I will add lightmaps to the .fy export if you will get me some good screenshots of the results!

If you set Vatan up so it can load a map from a commandline, I will set it up so you can launch Vatan straight from the editor.
