Ever fancied replaying these classic games on the PC?

Some madman reverse engineered both and then ported them to C++, then recompiled them. It took him 6 months.

Hmmmm, Dungeon Master and me have a shaky past, I'm not sure I'm ready to go back . That game drove me nuts when I was a kid - thank god for Captive, that was always my fave.

You should know though Philip that DM was an Atari ST classic - I know it was available on amiga too, but the ST had it first, and it worked on 512k on ST, 1mb only on amiga. That's because the ST was betterer.

Not really, I only got to play that on WinUAE, I would have loved a multiplayer dungeon game like that on the ST. Bloodwych was good fun, but ultimately too difficult, there just was never enough food for 2 parties.

Cool. Loved that game. Although I remember spending more time (than playing the game, not going to lectures obviously) in Uni trying to program my own version in STOS. Got to a stage where it worked pretty well but had to make monsters work properly. Then realised that it was eating into my drinking time and stopped. Might even have an old (probably corrupt) disk around here somewhere (saved from parents chucking just about all of my old computers and stuff away - choke...).

Out of interest (can't be bothered finding out), I take it he did more than just recompile them? Otherwise why not use an emulator? What did he add to it?

Oh yeah, found this the other day : http://www.midnightmu.com/games_home.php
Anyone used it? Any good?

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing
