I can't upload all of the file in one post (despite it being less than 50Mb (just)) so, I have added one planet to each post. The desert planet is available by clicking download on this post. There are 10 planets in all and each download you will find FOUR 1024x1024 PNG images. 1) An image of the planet, lightmapped and ready to pasted onto a backdrop. 2) A texture image of the planet, ready to be texture mapped onto a sphere to use in your games. 3) A light mapped texture of the planet, again ready to be mapped onto a sphere. 4) A bump map for the planet. I'm not sure if DBP's bump mapping is working at the moment but if it is then apply this image to your planet for full bump mapped lovelyness! The difference between the texture and the light mapped texture is this: If you want your planet to rotate, I suggest using the Non-light mapped version and letting DBP light the planet. If, on the other hand, your planet will remain static then use the light mapped version. You could still fly around it and see the dark side but don't rotate it or you might find the dark side facing the sun! Here are some Smaller, low quality images to give you an idea of what the images are like: ![]() ![]() Looks great when combined with my Nebulae and Stars/Sun packs |

And here is a video of the Desert World planet rotating after being mapped to a sphere. I have used Blend Mode 25 for bump mapping (I think that is what it should be(?)) If you click download you will get an EXE where you control the rotation of the planet with the arrow keys and zoom in/out with shift/return Can't be bothered downloading the video or the EXE? Here is an image then: ![]() |

So download it ... it's a free trial but it keeps on working forever, it just pops up asking you to buy the full version when you use it. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm |

Those are pretty good. However, I'm fairly certain that it's not possible for a planet to have liquid water without having an atmosphere/clouds and weather. loli haet pizza |

Thats cool i will be using these in SSE/Gate.. just a little request (if you are up to it) though: do you think we could have some gas giant planets too? as gas-giants are the most common form of outer-orbit planatery bodies.. i.e. there are (thoeretically) a lot of them around in the universe.... if you feel like it, obviously. just a suggestion.... www.AoFP.co.uk |

Lol, LunarCell (the program he uses for these) does not create gas planets... But maybe he can create several anyway I'd be interested in making some. Just drop me a line, here or thru mail. tha_rami - the best way to predict the future is to invent it |

@the_rami: just e-mail me and i'll get back to you, i can't seem to find a way to contact you. @general/all: i would have thought some graphical alteration/filters applied to the cloud images could create an interesting gas effect, especially if two or three were layered on top of eachother. my favourite has to be earthlike 2 www.AoFP.co.uk |
