The newest version can be found here: http://home.arcor.de/walitski/StickSuicide2%20-%20with%20media.rar

Its a 2d Shooter without media.
The playernames are still german, cause there were too much of them, but I translated (or tried to translate ) the rest...
Controls:
arrowkeys - walk arround
Shift - Jump
Control - Drop weapon
X - Slowmo
C - Suicide (in hopeless Situations )

I compiled it in upgrade 6.0 and it works fine...
Please tell me about bugs, what you like/dislike etc.

Here's the Code : http://home.arcor.de/walitski/StickSuicide2%20-%20English.dba
Have fun!

Edit

And here the Link to the withmedia-version:

I clicked on the Source Code Link and got this message:

You have to post it in the code button like this.

I'm looking forward to playing this whenever it gets posted up!

omg The Code is too long for a code snippet! (about 1800 lines)

I'm Sorry about that post above. I would edit it if I could but theres always an 'unknown' error message

So here\'s the .dba : http://home.arcor.de/walitski/StickSuicide2%20-%20English.dba

Now that should finally work, have fun!

What version of dbp are you using? It doesn't seem to work with u6.

Compile error: subscipt must be Integer or DWORD when referencing an array at line 23.

Holy cow, that is absolutely superb.

One of the best no-media games I have ever seen!

Running around, shooting bots. They shoot your legs off and you can't move!

Well done!

For those who it won't compile for, attached is a zip file (under 800KB) which contains source code, the dbpro project file, and also a compiled exe.

Hope you don't mind Valle, but it is such a great program that it deserves as much attention as it can get!

Whoa! This thing rocks! With a bit of work, it could be like perfect.
One thing I noticed is that when you lose an arm, it's impossible to aim with a one hand gun on the side of your body opposite to where you lost the arm. Maybe multiplayer is in store? And some of the black lines have white lines in them...which makes them look weird.
The only media I might suggest would be maybe menu stuff, perhaps weapon images, and maybe some sound. Otherwise, AWESOME game. OH, and maybe things like in star wars battlefront, where you can see your favorite weapon, longest living streak, and some other stuff.

Your goose is cooked.

great game! i don't post much on PA anymore but i had to say this was loads of fun!

besides what other people have suggested one thing that i noticed was that it can get frustrating when you keep getting your hands/head/arms blown off right after you spawn, it would be nice if you would be invinceable for a few seconds after you spawn (signified by flashing probably...) that way you at least get a chance at living

I'm glad to hear that you like it that much

Thanks @ Spooky for your help!

@Flindiana Jones : Sounds, Explosions and Weapon-images will be in the "with-media-version". If you dont like the white lines then just remove the "box 0,5,10,6" in line 398. I find them Stickmen look kinda fat without . That you cant really aim with one arm is part of the gameplay like Uncle Sam said. So, thanks for your ideas!

@digital dude RELOADED : Look at your Code Snippet, exactly 1540 lines and not the whole code haha!

@Peter_: Good idea, will do that!

Oh! I didn't even commented your game Valle!

I think it's a great game! It's an incredible no-media game
I really like the menu too... It's simply awsome.

Oh how I love slaughter those bots and watch them loose their arms and legs!

One awsome game.

Also, I could easely imagine this game online! Running around like crazys shooting each other... Would be pure fast paced shooting fun!

hehe, been having some fun haxxoring it

made the head a little bit larger...

here's it falling off (previous shot it was invinceable )

i've also made my entire self invinceable... and i'm hoping to start myself off with a fully automatic sniper rifle....

but of course that kind of ruins the fun a little bit...

[edit] sorry if the pictures are a bit largesque, i can turn them into links if you want
[edit2] oh.. btw.. i have no idea how i got -129 kills (i wasn't jumping off of buildings)

@Nex : Line 23 is the "do" of a loop ( the debugger's really buggy sometimes ). I cant imagine what it could be... Could you please write the whole error message and your Version of DBP?

@Peter : lol . The thing with -129 frags, I hope it's because of your haxxoring

Uhm, what's up with the names?

I'm in there! And so is Penispeter...

It looks great though! The gameplay is really fun, so I think it is a really good idea to improve the visuals. It will make the game even more atracting(as long as we don't have to fight Penispeter ).

Yeah, i forgot to mention that, a nice control scheme would be.

Aim with mouse
Move with 'A' and 'D' keys (kind of like a FPS using WASD)
Jump with 'W' or 'Shift' or 'Spacebar' (if you jumped with the spacebar you'd have to shoot with the mouse)

That's the best but you need a map. I kept jumping into other platforms, but instead its open area. So, a map with your opponents and the level would be nice. Otherwise I think its really good.

i keep checking this everyday to see if a new version has come out

i think a online multiplayer version of this would be a big hit, but i can understand if that's too much for you (i certainly wouldn't know how to do it )

Will soon upload an exe.
@Supremacy : download the last dll here(d3dx9_28.dll) : http://www.m3fe.com/760/ and copy it into your WINDOWS/system32/ Folder, then it will work

I really hate them directx guys for not putting that damn dll in the 9.0c installer, now noone of my friends can play games compiled under upgrade 6.0 without copying it into the Winfolder , the upgrade from 9.0b to 9.0c is also one big bug because it always says you already got 9.0c

The media version is nearly finished !
There's a mouseaim, sounds, and other media now...
But I dont know if the controls and the game is ready to post it here...

If someone of you wants to betatest it, then post it here. The first two requests will get it.

@Peter_ : I'd really like to do a multiplayer, but I think thats too hard in that late stadium of the game. Maybe in the future
