Taking a bit of a break from the Pencil Whipped stuff and messing around with a remake/sequel of The Tickle People. Nothing major, just some texture/lighting work.

Here's my storyline for this second version of The Tickle People.

The Tickle People (squared)

Its 1995:

Located in a new Government research lab tucked away in rural Minnesota, a space/time warping device based on an idea called Membrane Theory called “The Sewing Machine” that can theoretically “sew” two dimensions together gets tested for the first time. Without warning, Jeff, the head technician’s notebook computer gets pulled into the vortex and collapses it. The next day, after analyzing test data, the Sewing Machine gets re-activated for a re-test. This time Jeff gets pulled into the vortex.

Upon Jeff’s arrival on the other side of this doorway, he experiences a mind boggling realization. Looking at the far wall of the room he is standing in, he sees a large statue in the likeness of his notebook computer. Looking at his feet reveals a shrine of sorts dedicated to it. On a large stone tablet to his left, strewn in English, depicts a story explaining the arrival of this “Gift” from the Gods apparently some 1000 years before he got here. Apparently, one day on earth is 1000 years in this dimension. What continues is a terrible tale of these peoples back engineering of the laptop computer and its technology to create some sort of super computer society over eons. The computer got too smart…. too quick, and took a liking to games found on the laptop.

The super computer murdered the whole race of beings slowly and integrated their flesh into its matrix one individual at a time, creating with it new terrible monsters capable of horrors beyond most people’s imaginations. It continued to seek out the people enjoying itself playing the game at the expense of their fears and desperations. One of the last people to exist wrote this story in the hopes of someone, maybe the Gods themselves who sent the gift would one day return to forgive them for the blasphemy they created out of selfishness and pride…and to stop…..the things this computer creates out of re-animated flesh that the they dubbed “The Tickle People”

But now it senses Jeff with excitement and hunger. After hundreds of years the game is back on. One more person! One more pile of flesh to create The Tickle People.

Nobody ever heard from Jeff again, or the employees of the Lab…

It’s 2007:

Bernie Funknugger thought it was a steal, this old gutted out and renovated underground facility turned into an apartment. How cool was it that he could ride a lift down into the apartment. He almost felt like a secret spy or something. Everything was nice except for the strange automatic metal door in the basement that he uncovered while fixing up the basement level. Obviously it was permanently sealed for safety reasons because it most likely lead to a collapsed portion of the old facility that was filled in…or was it?…No harm in finding out I guess. After all this is MY place…..

Game elements

•Wage war inside a giant super computer's creations fighting enemies that endlessly spawn at various stations throughout the level in a first person shooter.

•Out maneuver and defeat the spawned enemies while ultimately reaching the computer core to destroy it.

•Acquire grenades, ammo for your weapon and health to survive.

•In addition to the spawned enemies, be wary of traps and devices created by the SC to kill you.

Excellent story and concept. Sound like a lot of fun.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

FYI if anyone doesn't know what this sequel is all about, Here is a link to the the original "The Tickle People" I released back in 1999/2000. Not sure if the link works or not.

Lon, is pencil whipped the game that's supposed to be the first cartoon one in FPSC, because someone said something about "Lon's game" being the first cartoon one etc. on my thread (which is also a cartoon game)

Here are some screens of development. More detail is needed in some areas. I'm using stock media for the lab in level 1.
