You ovoiusly never net a hard core flamer, they'll use different accounts, even computers to contenue to bug people. A few will even spam your e-mail for saying something they don't agree with, even if it had nothing to do with them. Worst case senario, they'll try to hack your computer or send it viruses. It because of these types of people I support Rich's actions. I may not know who was or why they were so completely banned from this site but it must have been for a good reason.

Fortunately I am lucky enough to have avoided these types of people.

I think we all support Rich's actions. Everyone who has been banned so far that I know of was banned because they spammed the forums or kept bugging someone relentlessly.

I take it you didn't read the "Sony take on Nintendo Handheld Empire!?!" thread.

The GBA STILL doesn't have a 300Mhz processor

Arrow, stop trying to pick a fight. Rob is mildly poking fun at ##### for a very good reason. You have no need to try and start flames over it.

Rob is quite right-- the GBA still dosen't have a 300MHZ

I'm not try to start anything, maybe trying put something out. I only pointed out that if if you're gonna hate someone for a single post, you better get some in to some serious agner managment classes. Simple has reason (kinda) to hate Raven as do a FEW others around here, but how many have been derectly insulted by him? I hate bandwagon jumpers, esspecial if it's hating/making fun of someone, where I like that person or not. The only person trying to start stuff is you.

I'm a very unbias person, I try only let the facts that matter effect my choices. The fact of the matter is some of you are talking crap about a guy behind his back with no reason to despise him, to me that's foolish and wrong. Don't pretend that you've never made a mistake and been stuborn about it.

"Does someone have a short temper?"

It hasn't just been ONE thread, there have been at least 10 or 20. I just picked the best example.

Alright, enough jokes about said not-so-anonymous person.

Seriously though, I am quite happy for people to have their own opinion on a subject or argue their case, providing that they do it in a reasonably competant manner. However, when people state something that is blatantly wrong, and when I point it out to them, they argue back constantly and not even for humourous reasons, it just gets silly. It also annoys me when people aren't man enough to apologise for their mistakes.

Finally, let me just give YOU one piece of advice Arrow, misspelling is a powerful way of neutralising your argument (I counted 9 s/g mistakes - if you want, I can list them).

If you're unbias, Arrow, then you'll let people hate who they will. It's not your business as to who Rob dislikes or likes, and if he tells you buzz off it's really none of your business. Who gave you the right to be the judge of 'who has the right to hate who'? Just because you think of yourself as impartial dosen't make you more important.

A) I have the under-dog illness, I stick up for those are out numbered, out gunned, and/or out matched. In this case the topic was Raven.

B) The closest this Rob K has been to telling me to buzz off is counting my spelling mistakes. Nor have I said or inplied that I was better than any oneelse. Mouse, quit trying to start crap with me, you gotta let somethings go.

C) Pointing out grammer or spelling mistakes is the last act of a desprite man. I know my spelling sucks, but at least you can figure out what I'm saying. If you rely souling on spelling mistakes to prove your point, it means you can't find anything wrong with what they're saying. It's not quite the argument killer you think it is, it only works on flaming noobs who never had a point to begin with.

D) None of my posts here have been to insult or aynoy anyone. Try to take that in consideration before you deside to go full bore flame on me.

Hehe, Raven knows exactly what some people think of him here, does he care? - well probably, but not that much I'd say.

It's like the way he just leaves an argument open - if he's been prooved wrong he'll just abandon a topic - it would be nice to see him come in and say "Ohh, WTF was I thinking, the GBA must have a 16mhz processor, Doh!". I reckon more people would get along with him if he did that now and again - the defiant attitude he has seems to take over everything else. I reckon I understand him a little better than most, because I have a tendancy to take the opposite viewpoint of an argument, just for the challenge! - if you can make someone believe something that your don't even believe yourself, then you won the argument.

I'm not having a go at him, just saying is all.

The thing is - the forum should always be a sorta oasis, like somewhere to come when your bored, or stuck on something - when people get under your skin it's often best just to avoid the topic until it calms down. I know I've made posts then regretted them the next day, pretty sure I'm not alone too.

I agree with Van-B.

There's no point in finding/pointing out one's comportments problems or whatever if it isn't made with respect and/or care, this should be a place where everyone comes for positive conversations,critiquea,help/get helped...Not where you can rant like a grumpy old lady.

Personally I come here between two RGT posts.

I've personally had no problems with *****. I generally reserve the right to be wrong and don't normally disagree with him. I don't meen to back him, though, as I can turn quite easily on someone under given circumstances, howeve, he has given me, personally, no reason to attack him, thus I'm friendly.

hmm... a second page of things, and hmm...

Quote: "I have the under-dog illness, I stick up for those are out numbered, out gunned, and/or out matched. In this case the topic was Raven."

i'd suggest you have that illness looked into, i neither want nor need help defending myself.
i know alot of people don't like me around here - but i still have a bloody good nights sleep... but to be perfectly honest, most of you know how i am by now.

I don't attack newbies, even with just cause.
I don't think i've ever outright attacked anyone until i've actually been pushed, and just look around its obvious it takes one hell of alot to get me from just aruging a point to actually attacking back.

As for saying sorry about things, i'm not sorry about them - even if i maybe wrong or in slight error ... i don't apologise unless i mean it, and quite frankly i wouldn't mean it.
If i'm wrong about something why should i give someone that little justification of me acknowlaging that i am? Way i see it, screw 'em if they wanna pull me into a flame war about something and try to show me up then they deserve to suffer long after the argument is over, you can flip a coin to see if i've actually conceeded or given up.

i might bring upon me some people who can't handle me at all or even come close to understand how i am or how they can keep the peace, but really that isn't my problem now is it?
you can either sit there day-in day-out, grumble about how much you dislike me and think its big and clever to try to always show me up and make snide comments ... but just look at how much i can actually get into your head simply because you let me. If you had an ounce of sense you'd just stop and actually everything would be cool, you don't need to argue a point to win an argument.

look at it, you still bring up the GBA post - it is still a fresh though in your mind, no doubt there are more.
me i don't even remember what the post was actually about - i certainly don't remember what the arugment was about ... and ya know what, i really don't care either lol

win or loose i still won

Unfortunatly it is difficult for people to take anything you say seriously. It all needs to be checked first to make sure you haven't just made it up. Then you tend to insult people who point out that you are wrong dragging out what should have taken one reply saying whoops I got my facts mixed up into 10 replys of people showing you the facts and you denying them or dancing around the topic producing a lot of hotair.

You really think that is winning?

I think a more apt frase is win or loose everyone lost.

Not to me... i don't give a flying monkies is people think i'm full of hotair, whether i give proof or not i'm actually almost always right - and others will actually aruge until they're blue in the fact just to get me to say that the facts they present mean they're right. But the funniest thing is, that is you take the facts they present you can also prove that they're wrong.
And if you saw the post about Shaders recently you can see that people don't even see when they're wrong when they have it pointed out right in thier face.

It is kinda hard to take any of you seriously when you believe there is only a single line of view on a subject, that everything is either a black&white right or wrong. Everything about the English language sets it as a very interpretive language and you can take what is said with many multiple meanings.
You are most likely to have an argument with someone who is english speaking than any other language simply because there is so much misconception and abiguity with the language ... and it is funny as hell that very few people actually realise this.

so many people say that it is one of the hardest languages to pickup not just syntax wise but construction wise as well, and it is becuase there are no real rules for the language.
You want a pefect example of how bad this is look at the bible, over 2,000 years back there was like one religeon about the "One God" and that was Jewdaism ... the Romans introduced Catholic based on the entire bible, and the English introduced Protestant based on the fact they felt that the Catholics god some of it wrong, almost every single other version of Christianity after that was created in an english based language.

I mean take that how you will, and if you don't take it how i've ment it then actually that just proves my point entirely lol
So rather than going for a win where people go "holy guicamoly Raven your right" cause i couldn't care less if they agree with me or not, i go for them to either realise both points have been made and to just shutup (though some users are too dense to realise this), else i'll just piss them off ... why?

Because i can - they won't listen to reason might as well do something constructive, just look at how many people i can piss off.
No one ever really reads the posts i write either, probably too long for thier limited attention spans ... but people see me swearing in a post and automatically assume i'm doing it because they're right and i'm not so i'm using it as a last resort, and its never about that even slightly ... its more oftenly about the fact that they're no listing to a word thats said.

When someone says "Why can't this just Drop" and someone replies "Oh because i'm right arn't I?" ... at that point its not about being Right or Wrong, its just about stopping the whole mess because they're idiots - and if you let them get the last word everyone believe that they're right and your wrong, so they should follow what that guys says ... so rather than an amicable 2/3 points of view on a subject, you have one persons which appears to be right.

It's like 2 grandpa's who'll sit there and give you directions to a place. They both take different routes but the distance is exactly the same and niether really has merit over the other ... but you know that you will take the route that is said last, especially if what is being said last is "my route is shorter"
and you also know you'll sit there thinking whilst you drive "my other grandpa was so wrong, this is the shorter route", without ever traveling the other route.

most here are too young or stupid to realise this is the case though when they argue.

The Church of England (members of which are known as Protestants) was created for political rather than religious reasons.

"most here are too young or stupid to realise this is the case though when they argue"

Please do not play the age card, some of the mods here are younger than you, so obviously Rich thinks they are more mature.

This topic has gone far enough and nothing more needs to be said.

The Church of England was installed by Henry VIII because Pope Clement VII refused to annul Henry's marriage to Catherine of Aragon.
The protestant reformation was started by Martin Luther a few decades before.

In fact the Church of England is closer to the Catholic church than to most protestant churches (esp. in terms of hierarchies).

i'm not talking about the Mod as they don't usually get involved in any arguement ... and i said your OR stupid, although i think i should've said young AND/OR stupid.

yeah i'm sure, and before you come back ... i don't care either
as that has fuck all to do with the point made.

Quote: "Because i can - they won't listen to reason might as well do something constructive, just look at how many people i can piss off.
Sounds like trolling to me."

i'm sure it is trolling if there was such a word, but there isn't. sicking how people just make up words to fit a situation, and as there is no real meaning behind it you can give it whatever so it is hard to dispute isn't it.

"Becuase i can" isn't a fact of "trolling" as you put it though, it's because i don't care about any of the reprocusions of what i do.

its funny how as soon as i post somehow people start to suddenly decide they have to make comments less in the background and put them upto the mic for all to see - like some big man standing upto Raven to try and prove him wrong on a point that has not validity within the topic, or just to grumble about a given comment.
the point has been made the past week that ya'll know how i am, i ain't gonna sit back and let someone piss on my doorstep cause they think they can get away with it.

And this is how the flame wars start, not with me... i don't supply the match nor the kindling. I will defend myself and whatever people push again me or try to use against me, and not jumped up lil punk is gonna sit there and think he's bettered as at the end i'm going to switch off my computer, the thread will die and so will my investment of interest within it.
however it is apparent that most of ya'll who comment back aren't going to just simply turn of the comp and forget about it.

Whether the arguement is won or lost, i still win - because i'm totally apathetic about everything that goes on, always have been always will be ... how the heck else do you think i can flame the crap outta you in one thread and act like nothin' has happened in another. I'm not petty and i'm not bitter, i'm not going to go into everysingle other thread like most of ya'll do and decide to piss all over ya'll - because at the end of the day, i know who i do and don't like and they should too there's no need to remind them each post or bring up stupid point from where-ever.

its actually amusing because what always piss's me off and gets me all wound up when i'm aruging a point is when people are just being so stupid you have to wonder how the hell they can tie their own shoelaces or even getting outta bed must be some sorta challenge for them.
They aruge the point over and over ignoring everything just said to them like it goes in one and out of the other because they don't even understand what is said, but they act like they know exactly what they're arguing about. Never ceases to amaze me how often you'll see someone sit there and graba website link and suddenly they feel they're a professior in that subject, so they get more links and after about 10 suddenly they know everything there is to know, and you know nothing compaired to them because you won't produce links for them.

(^_^) well have fun kiddies

I didn't write that reply for you but as an addition to RobK's post since you're obviously not able to listen/read anyway.

Raven isn't able to listen, read, or review anything, don't even try. He refuses to see a point and when it's shoved in front of his face, he refuses to say he's wrong. nFinity, the GBA argument, and now this topic are prime examples.

Aside from the role of religion in the splitting or unifiying development of European society -- which is hilarious, in a lot of ways, since European culture is far more compact and unified in language and religion than many cultures, such as the Chinese (Catonese and Mandarin are much farther apart than Italian and Portuguese; the Chinese encompass historic traditions of Buddhism, Islam, Baptism, ancestor "worship"), to whom we assign oneness . . .

Every forum needs a some rabble. The forums that really suck are the ones that turn into touchy-feely mutual-admiration societies. SIGs especially seems to get that way.

What ultimately occurs is everyone gets so atuned to being nice, that they never take a stand against something they consider patently stupid.
