Did you know, if you turn your keyboard upside down,

¿ooʇ uʍop ǝpısdn ǝq llıʍ ǝdʎʇ noʎ ʇxǝʇ ǝɥʇ

Most keyboards have built in sensors to detect when they are upside down and will automatically output upside down characters when flipped.

Honestly? The UI is slick. I have no complaints as far as usability goes.

The entire operating system is one big piece of spyware though. Switzerland is talking about banning Windows 10 because it violates too many data protection laws and I think that alone is enough to show that something isn't right.

I know you were asking TheComet but I should like to answer as well!

It's...ok. Like Comet said, it is pretty smooth and the UI is slick (although I don't particularly care for the flat look), but it does have a lot of downsides in terms of privacy policies. I hope they fix that in the future but I won't hold my breath.

I knew he was trolling

I suddenly had a thought for those who state they dislike Windows 10's Flat look, to be honest it makes sense... fewer visual elements to process for lower powered devices results in lower power processing and thus longer battery life...

But I could be wrong

Well played Keith. :p

As for Windows 10, I actually paid for mine, simply because I was running an inactivated version of 8. I was a cheapskate when I built my PC and used the Windows 8 upgrade disk I had for my laptop and had put off activating it for so long. So I didn't mind paying, because they had already saved me money by the fact they don't penalise you too hard for running and inactivated version.

I wasn't allowed to use the buttons in the spawn area to get free stuff or the door to leave. I had to climb over the wall to escape.

Yeah there's been a lot of weird glitches with WorldEdit/WorldGuard, enough so that I'm thinking of completely starting the world over (again) and then just using WorldEdit to build a few basic things and call it good. I don't know why other player's can't use buttons in a protected area, that's how I used to have it set up on my server last year and it worked just fine.

Goshdarnit Keith you scared me!

I can't seem to play better than Nova 2 in CS:GO. Every time I get into a game with Nova 3s I get rekt, but against Nova 1s and 2s I totally pwn. I think I just need to think more when I'm playing and not rely on good movement and great aim. You know, actually make plans and prepare for my attack. At least I know for sure my actual skill level atm is Nova 2.

---------------

Geez Yodaman, you're not having a good time. I don't really know what to say... Just don't give up on life. No matter how bad it is now, it will get better.

So... who's going to make the world's first fully-functioning claptrap robot? Honestly it shouldn't be that difficult: locomotion is just a wheel, and the arms/grabbers are simple with few articulation points. Of course it needs to be able to balance but that's not difficult.

Sideways balancing would be the main issue. I know someone who rides to uni every day on one of these things:

He says it takes quite some skill to not fall over and it's only stable when you're moving.

Developing the required balancing and steering software/hardware would certainly be a challenge.

The reason why it's probably not been done is because there's no benefit of having a one-wheeled robot.

But... but... it's a claptrap.

I too did wonder about sideways balancing. Maybe some kind of moveable counterweight or motor inside could provide stability?

I presume the best method of obtaining the counterforces required for successful sideways balancing would come from turning the device as it is in motion; perhaps a large, weighty disk mounted on a vertical axis could be placed inside the device, and be rotated one way or another to turn the device as a whole.

Funny you should mention that, from the car accident I was in a few weeks ago I got a call from the guy's insurance, offering me $500 if I just sign a release form saying that all medical problems have been resolved.

Ain't no way I'm gonna sign that until it's at least $1000, and only AFTER I make sure that my chiropractic visits are all covered, either by my girlfriend's insurance or this guy's insurance.

But even so, money won't matter too much, I mean I do need to buy a car but I am SO afraid of driving right now. Nothing like a head-on collision to give you a permanent phobia of speeding metal death traps.

Ridiculous! Just trying to appeal to the "I want money right now" side of us Americans. When my sister got rear ended (by some idiot who was texting and had an infant in the back), they made a similar offer to her and her husband for around $600 I think. As for medical problems being 'resolved', they both still have a variety of issues with their necks. Good thing they didn't sign it!

Interesting story related: last week, my mom and I were driving along, and we came across this terrible accident. Two large SUVs, both completely destroyed, clearly had been in a bad head on accident. Probably a total of 10 emergency vehicles around, etc. I didn't see the cars of anyone we knew, so I wasn't concerned. My mom decided to call my older sister though, just to make sure. As it turns out, she was actually one car behind the accident (but not in it, thankfully), and was talking to police at the time we drove by. Crazy coincidence!

Turns out is was some crazy teen, probably high/drunk/texting, that caused it. She was reported to have been driving, at high speed, on the sidewalk of the oncoming lane right before the accident. Some peoples' kids! All 6 people involved in the accident were sent to the hospital I hear, but expected to be okay, thankfully.

The tangents I get off on! Sorry life has been so crap filled lately, Yodaman Jer. On the bright side, I think we need to experience some crap sometimes to see the joy in life. I hope wonderful things are coming for you!

I experienced some rather unusual methods of overtaking on the way home today. Normally I come home around 3.00-3.30pm, and there's not a huge amount of traffic, but today I got an early mark (one of the machines just about exploded lol ) and came home around 11am. SO. MUCH. TRAFFIC. And lots of insane drivers, too, desperate to get around the cattle truck in front of them no matter the cost... and then just slow down again and hold up the truck. Ugh. Anyway someone decided they had to get past me, even though I was doing 103, and just decided to progressively move into the oncoming lane and get closer to me until I moved over enough that they could squeeze past me. Never a policeman around when you need one...

Yes, some kind of gyroscope system could work. Would need a lot of power, though, and would have only limited ability to correct a lean. So it would keep the device upright until it was forced sideways - then it would stop the device from falling but wouldn't be able to stand it up again until the device began moving forward again. ("The device" being claptrap, of course)

My gf's car insurance is covering up to $10k in medical costs for me, thank goodness, but they said to contact the other guy's insurance, which is the one offering me $500 if I just sign that release form, which is not going to happen. They would rather pay me the $500 (maybe higher) so that they don't have to cover any more medical costs for me, but that's not how I'm playing it out.

I think I will call tomorrow and record the process on speaker phone just to hopefully entertain you guys. And maybe make a fool out of this guy, he's said so many things to that just make me want to laugh really hard

That sounds great. Do it for sure!

Just got finished helping replace the high pressure line from the steering pump on our old '92 Nissan Pathfinder; it was starting to leak. Wow, talk about a messy job! Nothing like power steering fluid dripping everywhere.

I will! Although I don't know how interesting it will be, I'm just going to inform him right away that I'm not signing anything until my chiropractor/doctors tell me I'm 100% fine. What I'm hoping to get is him trying to insist that my issues will clear up in only 6-8 weeks (this is what he told me last time on the phone ), and that I really should just take $500. No matter what, I'm gonna finish with a very cliche line, and hang up on him. I hope to only be on the phone for about 5 minutes.
