Double check your wiretap laws before recording the phone call. If you record the call without notifying them in a two-party state you just committed a crime.

@Seditious:

Don't even go down that road with me. Chiropractic is pretty amazing at what it can do to help me feel less pain and such, just by cracking my back. Pretty nifty.

Also it's incredibly widely supported and several doctors that I know highly recommend it, so you're not gonna change my mind just by linking some half-assed wiki page that likes to poke fun at alternative methods. I'd love to see a doctor try to fix my reverse s-curve and whiplash with a Tylenol

I unfortunately only got the insurance guy's voicemail but I left a very straightforward message, explaining that I will not sign anything until I have been cleared by my chiro/doctor, and I also explained that $500 wasn't anywhere near a good enough offer.

Oh yeah, plus it did pretty major damage to my mouth and my glasses were broken. Now that I think of it I should try to get $2k.

Well then I won't release the phone call publicly I just did an audio recording with my Tascam, I will look into the laws I'm not sure what they are in the state of Wisconsin. But plenty of people have uploaded calls before and haven't gotten in trouble as far as I know. Look up Jack Vale on Youtube and you'll see what I mean.

I like how you butt in just to attempt to troll.

You're barely worth the effort. I will just say that if it's such a "big scam", then why has it already been working for me, and worked for everybody else that I know that has received chiropractic treatment?

You know what. I've had one hell of a summer. Don't you dare try to tell me one way or the other how to handle something, or try to convince me that the treatments I choose are the wrong treatments or big scams. You literally have NO idea what all may add up to my needs for treatments, from doctors and chiropractors alike. So, I suggest you keep your mouth shut, bitJericho, and anyone else who tries to tell me what to do. Gee, how 'bout I butt in and tell you guys what to do and how to live your lives? Would you like that? Probably not.

You, bitJericho, need to really stop being a dismissive and arrogant ass.

Quote: "I'm just yanking your chain. Are you sure you're not talking about osteopathy?"

I figured, and I have no idea.

EDIT:

If I come off strongly, it's because I'm really sick and tired of being judged on my choices for treatments. I've already received a ton of messages on FB from an acquaintance who is trying to tell me to stop treatments and just take the money from the insurance. Not gonna do that.

So, please, everyone just respect my wishes, m'kay?

CLONKEX! I just realized that nobody ever officially made it so that I wasn't the President anymore. I feel emotionally compromised, and my lack of activity on here is surely not doing anything in a Presidential manner. What should we do? I don't really care what you do.

Some studies have shown that chiropractic care is nearly as effective as conventional treatment, but some chiropractic treatments are not effective at all. You're not helping people when you proclaim that it is helpful to you when you're in the middle of treatments and you don't (can't) compare it to conventional treatments. In effect, you're harming people. That's why I'm here "trolling" you.

So my HDD is almost dead now. I use it for most of my applications and all of my games as I've only got a small SSD (128GB) for my OS and some core applications right now. Instead of going for HDD I decided to go for an 850 EVO pro 1TB SSD as it seems like it has one of the best speeds/lifespans for SSDs. Anyone switch from an HDD to an SSD for games? Not sure how much of an improvement to expect for games (I know that I'll see an improvement in starting photoshop now).

"Sure" sure does sound like a weird word now, doesn't it?

-----

Well it's back to work for me tomorrow, I am actually quite looking forward to it. Sadly, due to a bunch of crazy stuff happening this week I didn't get ANYTHING done like I wanted - I didn't even get on my Minecraft server as much as I wanted

Oh well. Life happens. Best thing to do now is just resume as much normalcy as possible.

Oddly enough, I do seem to code a lot better on days that I have a bunch of different stuff going on - perhaps the narrow time makes me be a bit more motivated to get as much done as possible. A curious observation, indeed.

Well, that stinks. We just got a new PM in Australia. Malcolm Turnbull. The Liberal party simply voted Tony Abbot out and Turnbull in. We get no say. Still... Malcolm Turnbull definitely looks the part more than Abott ever did. I really want him to be a good PM because he seems to fit so well, but I know very little about him.

I very intentionally did nothing about that suggestion because I didn't want to take anything away from you so immediately and potentially add to your emotional stress. Weirdly this ties in with the sudden political changes in Australia. If you're definitely sure, then I'll make DJD64 my VP since he was next in line in the voting for Forum President. Plus we all like him.

What? Are chiropractics even questioned? I thought it was a standard form of physical therapy. Dad has arthritis and has had it for years, and he used go to a chiropractor to relieve the pain. He said it worked beyond a doubt, but he didn't like that they made him take his shirt off because he's a little on the large side and it was embarrassing.

No, physical therapy is something different from chiropractic. Most doctors will tell you to avoid chiropractors. Even more physical therapists will tell you to avoid chiropractors. Chiropractors commonly maim or kill their patients: http://whatstheharm.net/chiropractic.html

I can't find anything similar for Physical Therapists: https://www.google.com/search?q=yearly+deaths+from+physical+therapists&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

I read through this list of differences and it seems pretty well and accurately written:

See, ever since being elected I've felt an ongoing sense of obligation to stay as active as possible on here, and I just can't fulfill that. There are days where I don't even get on my computer lately, either due to being too tired or just dealing with some stupid problem.

Plus, and I'm sure you've noticed this, I seem to really only post in this thread anymore, with the occasional comment in a thread over in the AppGameKit boards, and that's very rare. I'm not exactly Presidential material anymore.

I'll think it over a bit more today after work (have to head that way in a minute), and post what I decide for sure today, or tonight. But don't be surprised if I say I don't want the Presidency anymore.

You're overthinking the whole presidency thing. It's a meaningless title given for fun, you don't actually have to DO anything as forum president. You're still a regular form member just with a nifty badge saying that people like you enough to vote for you to have the badge. Instead of feeling obligated to be more active or anything, just enjoy the bragging rights.

Can anyone explain the 0.3mA result here to me? I'm not entirely sure what it means by ignoring Vd, though I presume it has something to do with assuming the diode voltage drop to be zero when the input voltage is 10v or higher (as mentioned earlier in the book)? But wouldn't that just be a short?

I'm also not sure what they mean with "ignore Vd". It could mean to ignore the diode entirely, in which case I=Vs/(R1+R2)= ~0.9mA. It could also mean the diode acts as a short circuit, in which case I=Vs/R2=1mA.

As to not ignoring it, silicon diodes have a forward voltage of 0.7V. Using Kirchhoff's second law, VR1=Vs-0.7=9.3V and therefore IR1=9.3V/R1=0.93mA.

Knowing the voltage over the diode means you know the voltage over R2, which means IR2=0.7/R2=0.7mA.

According to Kirchhoff's first law, the current through the diode can now be calculated with IR1-IR2=0.93-0.7=0.23mA.

I know, but despite that I still feel the obligation.

I s'pose you're right, though. Perhaps I will retain the title and just check in from time-to-time, barely keeping tabs on things.

My computer hates when I make it do that.

Supposedly, the 1.9 update is going to see a lot of improvements to rendering speed and optimization, but people running the snapshots say they see very little difference and the release of 1.9 will likely be just around the corner. So they'd better get that fixed.

So, why, exactly, did TGC have to make this as complicated as this is?!

Quote: "Only two folders are accessible to your AppGameKit app; the read folder and the write folder. The read folder is the location of your executable and includes the media folder. The write folder (which also has read permission), is located in a platform safe location and is different depending on the device. On Windows, for example, the default write location is C:\Users\username\AppData\AGKApps\appName (By default this is a hidden folder on Windows and you may have to show hidden files to see it). These are your root folders. Any files created/written using OpenToWrite will be saved into the write folder. For simplicity, AppGameKit merges these two read and write folders into a single command set. What this means is that when you attempt to open or load a file, AppGameKit will first look in the write folder before looking in the read folder. Windows has the unique command SetRawWritePath that allows you to overwrite this behavior, but is not recommended as it is not compatible with any other platform and Windows users may even require administrator privileges. When setting the folder, its behavior is what you'd expect from the CD command in the Windows console; It works from the current directory. For instance, if the current root read folder is C:\games\myApp\ then SetFolder("images") will put you in C:\games\myApp\images. Calling the command a second time SetFolder("backgrounds") will place you at C:\games\myApp\images\backgrounds\. There are two ways to return to the root path. The first is to call SetFolder("") using an empty string. The other is to preceed your path with a forward slash, SetFolder("/stuff"). This also applies to loading your files with other commands as well. Assume you're still located in the images\backgrounds folders and you want to load bk.png located in the root folder. You can simply say LoadImage("/bk.png"). Setting the path to a folder that does not exist will create that folder in the write path. By default, AppGameKit calls SetFolder("media") as the first thing it does. This command returns 1 on success or 0 if you use an invalid path such as SetFolder("C:\"). Note: It is important to remember when setting paths to always use forward slashes instead of backslash. AppGameKit will convert them into the appropriate file separator for the given platform."

So, in other words, I can't create a default config.ini file unless I go about it with SetRawWritePath, but Windows will raise its UAC controls and the end-user may have to run it as administrator.

How in the world am I supposed to create save files then, if I can't directly write to a folder which is located IMMEDIATELY next to my game.exe? SERIOUSLY!?

Why... just why? What is the point of this? No other framework does this, as far as I can tell. With LOVE2D I can write riles right next to my game. Likewise with Monkey X. So, what then, is the reasoning behind this decision?
