Thats looking good Biggadd, would be nice to see you actually model it.
Whoever was put off by the modelling skills, forget that, my vote (and i'm sure many others) is going to go for the most original design, not modelling skill, don't be put off.

Nice concept, BiggAdd.

Thank you for the interest, Satchmo and AndrewT. I shall not join the competition for personal reasons, but here is the primary concept:

Nino-Fly 1: I decided to change some aspects of its appearance and make some mates for him. I shall use them in my game, because four robots have a brief participation in it. This style fits almost perfectly in the game's guidelines.

ok, im back in the compo, im making a new model, and not a car this time, lol. i will do some drawing designs to show you my idea (im not an artist to leave me alone) also i do not know how to texture so i will just add vertex colour.

this is an update for my species, as you can see he now has a body and 'legs' to walk he has that ball on his body which he bounces to move, this character would be good in a children/adventure game

BTW dragon assasin I think you guy needs a six pack, It looks kinda wierd right there. Other then that great model.

Edit2: Spelling, It seems somtimes I press the next key to fast so it goes before the correct one and the correct one comes after, lol

Yeah, i do, when ever i do it they dont look right, and i suck at zbrush (NEED TO GET GOOD AT IT)and cant make them there, and dont even get me started about texturing this thing.....dragon as suffered a massive brain anurism and died.....

the legs need work on mine as well.
and i might make the tail more scorpion like,

But right now ive hot this part raptor, part scorpion, part human part ZERG (mwa ha ha ha) monster that is obviously an experiment gone oh so very wrong

The locks around the mods body are cool. I just think a banhammer would be a better weapon than a giant lock, since there are already locks around the body

Update still needs teeth, and abs as well as reworking of the legs,
But i re did the tail used a scorpion for referance and modeled it using a spline cage

I plan on using this for CG talks Uplift Universe once this is complete... hoping to enter the vid section, but i know thats the mega big leages might not have the rigging, animation and textureing skills to be up to snuff... lol any way

update again fixed alot, feet need a bit more work i was able to salvage them though and i might need to make the abs more real but next stop is mapping now img giong into the teritory that will make me lose... either that or john fletcher will swoop in last moment

Well, I've never really modelled before, but I had a cool idea and I thought I'd give this a try.

Here is my model:
Its supposed to be an animal that moves like a top. It spins at high velocities and moves by shifting it's weight from side to side, therefore gliding on the point between the floor and it's top-like bottom. The flat checkered thing is it's weapon. As it moves, the "sword" spins really fast, therefore slicing anything that gets too close into pieces. It is a herbivore and it uses the "sword" to cut down trees so it can reach the green leaves.

Well, here is my final -
Since it has no eyes, the topasarurus uses sonar to "see". The yellow cone is where it emits it's sound, and the disk is where it sees if the sound came back, and from what direction, thereby signaling it of an object nearby. And BTW the disk forms a sphere when the top is spinning.

And as you can see, it is camofluaged. This means that most of it is black except for somethings that emit sound. And of course, since it is black, it absorbs most of the sound comming towards it so as to keep itself from being located by other "tops".

(And if you can't see the disk, it is on top of the yellow cone.

I've been working on my entry some more. Here's the progress... Need to reshape all the fins a bit so they don't look so much like paddles Also have to do some work in it's mouth and some more body detailing but it's coming along.

Im starting to feel threatened.... well the uv mapping is almost done for mine, all that is left is a foot, then i need to learn z brush or photoshop and make a zer texture for it...

Hahaha Thanks I was going to make it have sharp teeth but it was looking to Ape like so I went with it

I'm working on the topology on it right now.Then on to textures. I'll post the next step in the WIP when I'm done.

Great looking models so far @ all!

Unfortunately I had a lot more to do than I expected in the last few days, especially because of the final exams here in Germany. So I'm afraid I won't enter this challenge, but seeing those great WIPs here I guess I had no chance anyway. xD
