It doesn't work with 1.12, only 1.07 or 1.08 (but you won't get headshots). Also, the T key resetting the frame rate only works in test game, in a built game it's disabled.

Well, I've been playing around with the mod, and something is really bugging me about it, namely my run animations are speeded up drastically, and the footstep noise is also speeded up. In fact, I think all of them are speeded up. Any solution to this?

I want this for lemur and to have fpsc run nice and quick, the guidelines say use S4mod 1.9 if you dont want water, and want the fastest performance, I downloaded the 1.9

looking in the S4mod directory I see a FPSC-Game.exe

I double clicked on this, thinking it is the installer for the mod, it just made my screen go black, so now Im thinking, do I paste the FPSC-Game.exe into my FPSc directory, there is a file called FPSC-Game.exe already in there, pasting the one that comes with this mod will over write it, are we supposed to do this, is this how we install this mod?

@ Fallen one :

The best way to use the mod is to build your game as normal then use the fpsc-game.exe instead of the .exe in the built game, to use the taunt's make sure to add the lines to your setup.ini in the game dir.

Read the Readme before using the mod as well hope this helps.

Version 4.0 now released.

You can now change water level and colour by script,water reflection has been taken out due to slow fps.

i just tested the latest 2.1 a few days ago with fpsc 1.09 and it works better than any mod around,for my game i was searching for water but efx lagged too much on my pc so i finally got another hope for my game,thanks

Because S4Mod has some more stuff added to it... Perhaps disabling a few things to get your FPS back up?

I have encountered a bug with s4mod 1.9 and up where when you use a melee or darkai script, when you walk in range of the character it makes player fire noises. So when you use wasd it sounds like your gun is firing but it is not. I don't know if this was reported already or if it happens with other scripts. I hope its ok to make a report here.

@dennisb melee and darkai are for x10 only and not for x9 fpsc thats why you having problems.

it happened same for me when i placed grave matter zombos in x9 1.07 with ur 2.1b,3.0 and 4.0 mod,so you should check it out a bit i think

Thanks man. Yeah, I downloaded a basic melee script now from the scripts forum and it does the same thing. I had to uninstall s4 for now because the noise is really bad. I need the melee script for the game. I installed airmod for now which is really good but I dont get as fast performance as s4. I am interested in s4 mod 4 so I can use some underground water in my jail as well. I hope you can fix the sound bug.

I found a bug
When you have guns an you save the game and the load the game to go back an play You dont have your guns no more

S4 - Check the gunmode code regarding movement, I think I screwed up some animation checks there that, while unnoticeable normally, may occur with the timing system. Ply found the bug originally. Basically I mixed up the zoomaction, altaction, and action references. You'll know what I mean the moment you see it.

Has anyone noticed the multiplayer bug that makes a gun play it's firing sound when you run? It's pretty annoying, but only happens on certain guns....

edit: all my frogs in the basement area of my jail disappear with this. Is there some kind of limit to how many enemy entities you can have with the mod? it didn't happen with 1.9.

Dis you test in test mode or built mode.

There no limit on how many chars can be in a level.

I came across an error with V1.9. I've Created a Multiplayer Game and when I start the Built game, clcik on Host game. I Got an error and the game crashed. Any Ideas? Screen Attached Below:

Yep that one works, thanks. The water one actually didnt cut my performance that much, it is just my enemies disappeared. I would like to use water. But from what I figure if you build a multilevel game and have water on one level it will be in all levels, because it is controlled by setup.ini, am i correct? If that's the case I can't use water.

But if its one thing or another between performance and water, i vote performance.

It's just the fact that efx is highly optimized and specialized for maintaining those effects. S4mod simply is not.

Also, EFX has a timer-system, so it's smooth no matter the framerate. I son't think S4 has added one in yet.....

Lol, that's the whole point of S4Mod. It most certainly has a timer system (originally the one from AirMod, which efx uses a modified version of [or did at least], not sure about the current release). EFXmod has custom shaders and optimizations though, which make its water run better than S4mod's.

Update :

Gone back to version 1.9a as the latest one, water has now been removed due to diffrent issues.

@who cares anymore : Download the latest one and read the readmefirst file.

S4mod uses 2 timers but is caped at 38fps so you will not get any faster speed than this.

The timer system works on making sure your computer runs at the best speed for your computer making the game have less slow downs when playing your level.

Hi s4

I put a story zone at the end of my game and it crashes on windows xp. I tried on two different xp computers with the same result. Oddly, this doesn't happen on vista. If you have xp can you see if a story zone does indeed crash due to s4 mod?

Strange maybe its to do with codecs you using but not had any issues like this in test's.

I can't figure it out, it only happens when I build the two levels, the movie is the last thing on the end of the second level. If i build the second standalone it works, if i build the both levels it doesnt. It happens with 1.09 game too. So it is not the mods. And only happens on xp. I have tried different codecs, same thing.

Is it possible that you could lower the frame rate limit slightly? It's accelerating all the animations in game and is very annoying. Something more like 30-35 would be more appropriate IMO.

Example game - Unreal tournament,Quake3 arena
It is possible to choose various levels in these games at single mode

Downloaded your mod yesterday!
And it worked great! No problems, no lags, no issues.
Just great! Thanks for the mod man!

Of course i didnt had a "great" test map...Just a simple map..
basically a room with 2 lights and some weapons.

I runned it with the ENB series (thanks for pointing me out, that it runned faster than CoZ's)
and no problems at all.

EFX mod looks nice and all, but right now i prefer performance instead of graphics.
Cause with the ENB i can make it look good and with Bond1's new shader coming out i could even make it look better!
So thats enough graphics for me.
