the version changes are for the separate .exes of water and nonwater s4mods

@Nomad Soul as dar13 said they both diffrent versions one with water one without, they both work diffrent to each other because off the water feature.

Hi there,

I got a problem with S4mod installed on a FPSC 1.08:

If I start a level that uses light the level is completly dark. If I use some dynamic enteties, then they glow a little - but everthing else is black.

Why is this so? What can I do?

What most people don't understand is that the source code changes every release. The code that the editor sends to the engine changes, so it won't work for any version past the newest source (or until the editor/engine corespondence code is changed). They should really make a sticky thread that explains all of this, so people don't go around in every mod thread asking for it to be made for version 1.13, or for the mod source codes to be merged, because that creates a whole new mess of problems that would take months of debugging to fix which could be used to add more features.

So people, IT WON'T WORK FOR VERSION 1.13!

look a page back, he posted all downloads up

To any senior S4mod users, I just started using (dont worry Ply, I still use yours too =p), I was wondering, while testing a game, whenever I would sprint I could hear the gun firing sound. How do I fix this?

@meteorite : Please give more info on the problem.

What gun you using ?
What version of s4mod ?
Does it happen with every gun ?
What version of fpsc are you using ?
Are you using custom media ?
Do yu have a test map for me to check out as I have never had this problem.

All these things will help me look into the issue you have.

It's happened with every gun I have tried (colt 45 and mas36)

fpsc 1.07
S4mod 1.9b, a little custom, the guns are the versions with hands, will post up a map with completely stock

hmmm, havent tried building an mp game, but it doesnt happen during single player test

Thanks for the reply try v1.9a and see if you have the same issues as 1.9b use a new timing method and this might be causing the problems.

Still got the shooting sound when I run, working on getting an fpm to ya know

-edit- upon more testing, it appears to be only the guns with hands, hmmm... also, none of the guns seem to idle animation

Idle is a know issue its something to do with the timers.

Just tested the guns you using with hands and have no issues at all but will wait for your fpm to do more testing.

This happens on the Izolis MP map I made with this, I don't have time to pull up a link for you, (sorry), but when you ran with the plasma carbine or the vickers, it'd loop a bit of the firing sound...

Hmm, those soundframes dont work well for the Mas36, when you fire, the normal fire sound plays, but it is followed by relead, and there is no reload sound

Update :

S4mod v1.9c beta released.(You need V1.9a for instructions on how to use.)

Fixes:

Fix Gun fire when running in multi player mode.
Fix idle not working.

Please note if you changed your gunspecs they need to be reset to the original settings sorry about this.

Thanks to meteorite for finding these issue and his test map.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but some, possibly many airmod features have stopped working, the two which I noticed being simplezoom and recoil, but reloading and idle does now work properly

Update :

V1.9c beta is the final release to this project but I might work on this project again in the future.

There are 4 versions to use depending on what you want from your project, v1.9c beta is the latest and is using airmod v5 to fix some issues with idle and gun fire sound when running if I have more time in the future I will look into fixing these issues and using airmod v6.

I wish to thank everyone who supported s4mod and who use it.

Due to some issues with s4mod, v1.9c beta now has airmod v5.

If you want to use s4mod these are the best versions to use :-

1 For single player high performance and airmod 6 use s4mod v1.9a(has idle animation issues.)

2 For single player high performance and airmod 5 use s4mod v1.9c(No issues that I know off.)

3 For multiplayer high performance use s4mod v1.9c beta.(No issues that I know off.)

4. For multiplayer high performance and airmod 6 using model pack 9 and 10 s4mod v1.9a.(has idle animation issues.)


5 for water and airmod 6 single player use water mod v4.1(has idle animation issues.)


6 If you want even better performance but could be unstable use v1.9b.(has idle animation issues and gun fire on some weapons in multi player mode issues.)

The most stable and no issues as I can tell is v1.9c beta

Due to I dont have much time to work on s4mod anymore these are the best options so far.

i just re-installed my FPSC and updated it to v1.07 and when i test the game it shows black and the doors, everything else is black?


how do i put up the menu and stuff to change bloom and everything else that i saw in a video?

can anyone help me out,

whenever i test a level there is no lighting...

im using v1.9a and running V1.9 of FPSC.

edit: ok it only happens with white lights, other colors are fine. but the lights do not extend as far as they should (to the ring in the map editor) they all have the same illumination radius.

Which reminds me, don't know why I put this off for so long. Version D is working great,still no idle animation, but sound bugs are fixed, so I'm not picky. But why have you not uploaded it to the forum? I'm sure many would like to see it

s4real, sometimes when I shoot, the fire sound loops until I shoot again, can you see if you can fix this? (This happens in the version 1.9c and 1.9e)

I think that is a FPSC glitch cause that happens to me when I fire one shot too, but I don't have any mods right now.

Its a mod for FPSC. It modifies the engine.

You should be fine with the v1.09 editor. Mods based on the 1.07 source generally work fine with 1.07-1.09 editors. Just make sure you have a backup of the 1.09 fpscgame.exe and you'll know right away if it works or not. I currently use 1.09 editor and havent had any problems using mods.

NO, because you are swapping out the source. The issue with compatability is due to changing editors.
