how about...

(insert name of hero) comes home after work to find his family lying almost dead on the floor. So he takes them to hospital to get them treated, but it doesn't look good.
When he gets back home he's cleaning up when he finds a piece of paper that must've been dropped... just says the address of a club is West City.

you can make it a sort of vengance story then, the hero is tracking down these people to bring them to his form of :: cracks knuckles :: justic.

he'll learn that those guys just wanted one of the inventions from the lab in order to find the "dragonballs" and wish themselves for immortality or a new hat (something silly).

Heh...Thats an okay story - vengence..But change the main character to a 14 year old boy who gains spirit powers like YuYu Hakusho and it would be fine

I'd ask for the main character to be one of my own (Omega, a 15 year old Magi, who can summon the spirits of the flame) but he's going to be in every DotCM game, so you cant use him

Heh...If I do use this idea, it will be some Asian/Japanese name that nobody has ever hurd of

[ Of course, in the end if I still go through with DragonBall V: The Prequal, then I can go on and do the next game w/ the same engine. I'm hoping to reuse the code ]
