Hi to all, i would like to know how many girls use dB.

(I'll pay to see a photo of a girl standind in front of her monitor during a session of DB programming....)

I was thinking girls haven't any idea of computer programming, only intrest for beautiful shoes, dress, cars and big muscle men.
Or intrest for be a doctor, lawyer , manager, lots of professions, all but not programming games with pc.

I've to change my concept of girls&computers.

You don't want to know what I think!!!

And I do like muscle men, dressing nice, and I love to shop.
Especially shoes!!!

But I bet I could out program you any day.
Well maybe not, but I could at least impress you.

i think that posts like this should be on the banned list, gotta say i'm kinda sick of seeing it - shows discrimination and wanting to single them out.
we're all programmers here, sex shouldn't have anything to do with ability or want to learn and use something.

I am highly offended by that comment!!!
It's remarks like that, that keep women away from these forums.
Their are probably many female DB users, they just don't want to hang around with chauvinists like that.

I know one thing for sure...
He will die a lonely man with that kind of an attitude.

@Randi

oh it's not so hard to out program me, uyeah i would like to know waht are you thinking...

@all

It's like a female policeman, they suffer to be watched different 'cause the role of policeman was a "male" work, so they are more bastard and angry, and you have always to pay the toll.

So it's here, if i tell you "oh, good work for a woman", it's an incredible offence....

however, i begin to run for my life....

oh well, how about lots of serious people here.....
Try to write what your basic instinct feel...

I'm surprised to find women programming pc, it's all here.

"we're all programmers here, sex shouldn't have anything to do with ability or want to learn and use something."

I would like to place near you a playboy's girl totally nude, for a programming session, you and she working something togheder....you are programmers too.
If you aren't gay... 5 minutes and you trow pc out of the window and start making something different.

Sex allways have to do with all.

Oh, and he got banned!

@Ermes: To be honest, if that is your full concept of girls, I wonder if you have actually seen one from less than a mile away, let alone talk to one.

When a man does good work, you dont say "good work for a man" either do you? You just say "good work". Now why this is so hard for you to do when talking to a girl beats me.

they might be taking offense and being angry because they're called POLICEWOMEN!... how would you like it if a women came upto you and said "Student Girlie"?

i'd have to say that you have more chance of finding alien life in your toilet then you do of that ever happening.

Quote: "So it's here, if i tell you "oh, good work for a woman", it's an incredible offence...."

there is no such thing as "good work for a women" ... its either good work or bad work - why the hell does it matter who did it?
do you go around saying "hey, thats good work for a black guy!" - you do that an the next thing you'll see are those lights in the hospital zooming overhead

Quote: "the girls has not enough brain capacity, to make programs/games!
(just 1-2 on the world...)"

and yet most i know even the airheaded valley girls are capable of stringing simple English sentances together...

sorry but these guys are right, with attitudes like that you'll probably live very lonely lives... you probably think that housework is only womens work.
(i think its everyone elses bar mine, but then i'm pathalogically lazy when it comes to actual housework )

god... this is just stupid mindless schovanistic drivel.

Men, you're all too serious....

If you think i can be really like that, well i'm going to make a big laught.

Really, there are times to be fun and times to be serious.

This is the General Talk forum isn't it? So who is playing to be a bigot here? If i've to make names, i will offence 90% of the forum!!

@Raven:

Maybe you can't believe it, i was ever full of girls. Now i've chosed one and i live with LORETTA from 2 years. The previous was 4 years relation but i've broke.

Maybe my attitude of life is the style of Italian boys, do you know "Fascino latino" or its translation "Italian attitude to make women happy"?

Alien life in my toilet?
Every time my father left the bathroom with his newspaper.

However, now i'm going to stop to enjoy myself and become a serious fake games programmer.

So, now i think women and men are the same, here we are all programmers, all a whole thing with the forum all... z .zzzz .zzzz ..

oh what is happening??... where i am???.... baugh.... i fallen asleep for boring...

Yes Geri, you seem real happy.

Any way...
I am not a big women's libber myself.
I admit that their are things that men can do that women can't.
But they are all physical things, and some men can't do them either.
Some men are just as weak as women, probably the chauvinists on here are.
But when it comes to intelligence, gender makes no difference.
Just take a look at medicine and how many women have made discoveries that are saving peoples lives today.
Ever heard of Trotula Platearius, Dr. Elizabeth Garrett, Clara Barton, Elizabeth Blackwell, Florence Nightingale, Dr. Aletta Jacobs, and last but not least, Marie Curie who discovered radium.

Females the lesser sex... I think not!!!

I just hate that kind of people who thinks they are better than others. Like gods.
Offcourse there are some womens that are much more "stupider" than others, but the same is with men.
And if some woman is interested in programming, I believe he can do just the same things than men and maybe even more.
I prefer considering people as unics. Not women and men. Offcourse when it comes to love life, I think little differently...
But seriously, you can't say men are more intelligent than women, 'cause sex doesn't have anything to do with that.
I hope, these kind of stupid topics won't appear here anymore.

Where are all these pics?

Anyway, that out of my system, i'd like to point out to everyone that we live in the year 2003 here. Notice Geri's location: Cyberspace. He probably comes from some sort of uncivilized country anyway, or is still at primary school where boys hate girls and girls hate boys.

We're all human, we all have the same abilities. There are women out there who could beat me up, i'm not ashamed to say it (ever seen *that* episode of fresh prince of bell air? )

Also to add: I have a friend who is *female* and *blonde*, yet she can build computer's about five minutes faster than me.

Anyway, enough of the arse-kissing
I think the majority of people out there will think the same way as me.

@Geri: I'm an antifeminist too but that don't mean I think women are stupid or lesser, I treat them with respect like everyone else. I fail to see how anything that you're born with makes you any lesser or greater of a person.

Now I have a feeling I better explain my stance on feminism before I'm attack along with Geri or Ermes. I full hearted beleave that femisist got some got points, I'm all for equality. The problem likes in the fact the the most extreame feminists aren't looking for equalllity, they're after superiority. Becuase of this many die-hard feminists have become nothing more than men without penis. They've become the same hateful, egomaniacal, greedy people they once fought against. I beleave there should be equallity, I beleave in many of the things feminism preaches, but feminism isn't giving us equality. I don't support feminism for the same reason I don't support Macho male attiute, they both see the other sex as leeser forms of life. I can not support anything that sayes that another people is lesser becuase of the circustances of thier birth. I hope I've made myself clear on the matter.

you know we loves you too Bunni

as for Geri...
There is a difference between Anti-Feminist and being Chauvanistic(probably still ain't spelt right) Pig.

personally i'm not exactly for Femanism ... women trying to do tasks they can't just to prove they can. If a woman wants to do something, even if they're not skilled in that field - then fine they can do it.
But femanism doesn't know any boundries, its not a case of "I want to do it therefore I'll try my hardest." its a case of "People say i can't therefore I will!"

It's like a sister who believes that simply because you hang out with your mates and try to fixx a car, it means she MUST also because she's a woman an there should be equality.
They're mindset is on nothing but totally equality - but the problem is they dont' understand what equality means. They believe that equal means doing something a man can do, not just being allowed to be given the chance to do whatever they want to do.

I mean if a guy wants to be a "housewife" as it were, then he should be allowed to ... but you don't see a guy trying to be a housewife, simply because it is a role given to women.
This is where men differ so much from women, if we don't want to do something - quite frankly we won't (cause its too much energy to even bother). The femanist women on the other hand, it doesn't matter if she wants to do it or not ... she will do it just to prove a point.

We don't have Male vs Female football, now a femanist would say this is unfair ... because its seperating the two sports into men & women catagories and the woman are just as good as the men.
They're not seperated because of skills though, they're seperated because men are just brutal players ... we know how insane we play football, and that we'd be willing to damn near kill ourselves just to make a pass. Women in athletics are naturally lighter for the same stength & speed - while that might been seen as a nice advantage, who will come off worse?
the 140lbs person or the 230lbs person who's only aim is to get the ball?

i mean this is the exact same reason we don't let the Lightweight Boxers, Cruiserweight and Heavyweights ... because someone who is 200lbs heavier than you, going in for the kill is very very likely to actually get it.
a femanist wouldn't think about the safety issues involved, just that this another reason for men to keep themselves seperate from women - really i wonder when they're gonna grow up and learn that if they actually wanted some real equality it starts in the governmental offices and they actually needs some skill to get there rather than just blind determination.

Hmm...

I think a lot of girls are better than us men (or boys). I'm sure there are alot of good female DB programmers out there too. Probably better than me (well most people are.)

' They've become the same hateful, egomaniacal, greedy people they once fought against.'

It's called reverse discrimination. I can't stand it either.

I also don't think that men and women are 'totally equal'. Here, the example of RPG stats might work rather well-- the two sexes aren't equal in every statistic, but have an equal total balance. Hence Raven's football example.

Hey I already said that there are some physical things that men can do and women can't.
But since I am a woman I don't get any credit!!!
Just kidding.

Only thing that bothers me is that women do tend to get paid less than men who do the same work.

This will probably always be true though, and this is why you have to take out the garbage, and mow the lawn, and kill bugs, and fix the cars, and open doors for us, and help us carry stuff, etc.

i've never seen this in the IT/Games industry and i've as good as grown up in it ... generally speaking no one is treated like a "girl programmer" or "boy programmer".

you're just a Junior programmer until your good enough to be better... the better you are the more you get paid - the better at contract negotiation the more you get paid

but thats how it goes in any job really, there might be a few jobs were women may earn less - but those establishments are doing such illegaly. Just as it would be illegal to not pay an arab as much as an anglo-american.
There is a big difference between personal ideals about men & women being difference and generalisation discrimination.
One is a personal view, the other is against the law ... you might not want to treat other people as your equal - but whilst you live in a country which has the very mandate that everyone is given equal rights, then you cannot treat them any differently than just an employee on a professional level.
