Errant AI, those are some great sketches! Very detailed!

Guess I will have to contribute as well, this is still a work in progress. But I guess you can see what it will end up as

I just stumbled on to this but I guess I can throw in something of mine...Ah, here we go. This is a dark piece I did a while
ago because I was bored and wanted to try another art style. I named it "Dark Forest" out of lack of a better name.
Its nothing too special but let me know what you think.

Errant AI did an excellent job on the weapons and gear. pretty epic. the helmets were done well. obviously well proportions on the humans, though i would suggest staying in the "mechanics and gear genre. well done.

I like the twisted ideas that gave birth to wolfs art but i think he definitly needs to work on the faces, their expressions, and use a skin tone other than yellow. im not saying that i could do much better but i wouldve definitly refined any skills before posting any work. but like i said, i can appreciate your inner hannibal lectre. ill post my own once i get my scanner hooked up.

LOL.
Just because good and well are not usually interchangeable does not mean that "well" is always the correct word to use. XD Now who is a
grammar Nazi?
this is a little off topic but you should check this out.. so you can
stop being so uptight about it. http://grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/good-versus-well.aspx Good day!

Seriously?

Wolf's a surrealist at the core. He's like a mix between Salvador Dali and Max Ernst. Two of my top 5 artists of all time.

@Mazz426: Wouldn't want that thing to be after me...looks terrible. In a good way!

Quote: "I like the twisted ideas that gave birth to wolfs art but i think he definitly needs to work on the faces, their expressions, and use a skin tone other than yellow."

Well, I personally like my expressions, what I really need to practice is shading them (is this the correct word? I mean the light and shadows...). The yellow color is a lot more subtile on the originals. I don't own a scanner (would ruin the feng shui of my desk) so I take pictures with my lil' camera and edit them. That makes some colors a bit ...well...yellow. I appreciate the critics.

How about blue, its less yellow:

I know, I know...a shameless copy. But I love that old Tarkowski Movie so much, I had to do something related to it.

Thats...umm...interesting

Quote: "Wolf's a surrealist at the core"

Yes!

Quote: "He's like a mix between Salvador Dali and Max Ernst."

Thats the most awesome compliment I ever received on my artworks Thank you

I'm also a huge fan of both artists.

Now that I have a giant ego, I'm going to post more stuff

Thats a recent piece. Its actually a drawing on a wooden plank.

Thats a bit older...I made it back in the day I was working in an office. You can guess that I wasn't a huge fan of it

I had a reference picture for that zombie on the computer

DaVinci's Lady with an hermeline as a pencil drawing. You don't need to point out the hand, I know it looks more like the claw of freddy krueger than the frail hand of a young lady.

youre right i do like the expressions(or lack there of as in the mouthless girl drawing). the shading of the expressions was the only problem, now that i think of it. I think the picture of the man in the suit was good but i dont really care for it's light background i realise that it was likely difficult to shade a black and white image without obscuring details, but i think that these pictures from your idea of hell would look better with a another teaspoon of hopelessness.

but i do like the blue

dark shades of blue really do help convey hopelessness, sadness and emptiness .

nice job.

Did you make this with a tablet or brushes?

Quote: "but i think that these pictures from your idea of hell would look better with a another teaspoon of hopelessness. "

I don't want them to be so dark and hopeless. it is more an abstract sort of...hopefullness...if you can say that. About what is and what you can change.

Well...hard to give feedback on it.. it doesn't really show anything as it is completely abstract.

Can't say that I like it though.

Love the faces in the darkness Greenlig adds to the ominous quality which it has like VanB said. Also like VanB I feel it would also be cool as a point and click adventure I could just imagine Gus entering the Darkness etc.

Nice save Van B.
I might as well post a few of the ones I did after my first set back in Augusts.
Battle of the Skies:

Caurelle:

Dantroplia slums:

Dark Nancy:

Lawrence's home:

Contract table (Remake of the clip art of the same name)

Sadly I've been rather inactive in the drawing department lately but my devantART page has my older work (http://tinycboi.deviantart.com/), all my drawing were vector based, before they were uploaded (final images in .png).

Edit: fixed link typo (I might need to shrink the image size later)

Edit the squeal: The image size has been reduce added a few more images with Caurelle being the recent one (but incomplete).

Last Edit: Added the names fixed the image size again.

Cheers VanB.

I really like the ship in the first one, Cyril.

The second reminds me of an icon from Windows or something...can't quite put my finger on it. Would make good Minecraft art!

I did a new image recently, and thought I'd share it. Good to see this thread back!!

http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/o/2011/362/5/4/54f3388650417027900e318db7934bff.png

The image is largish, so just linked here.

Cheers,

Edit: @Cyril - WOW the last two didn't load till I refreshed. Love them!! The second one especially is brilliant. Awesome work.

Thank you.

Your one is incredible I like the whole lovely landscape in front of the broken down robots it brings a greater contrast between the background and the foreground.

Personally I wish the forum had a preview function, its easier to spot mistakes and problem that way, I still need to fix my previous post.

Thanks! its done with the rope physics snippet i made (it can be found in code snippets ), it can be slightly modified to produce colors, and the i screenshot it and aply spatter (brush strokes/spatter ) and then anisotropic filtering a couple of times (stylize/diffuse/anisotropic )

it can produce some quite interesting results if one tries a couple of times

Is that the book series with the talking animals? If it is, I kind of remember a mouse character or something. Would of been 10+ years ago that I first saw them.

I doodle a lot, so I thought I might share some stuff I doodled just recently today.

Here's a little concept I was thinking up. It's a tie in between Pokemon and the anime Death Note where Smeargle finds a death note. I think it's sort of clever since Smeargle's tail is just a massive paintbrush, but that's probably just me.

And here's me practicing a short anime hair style on a tomboy type character. I need to get better at eyes and hair, specifically, haha. I'm still learning as I go.
