@Azunaki - Can you try posting in a less patronizing way. You do a lot of this "..... ummm...." and it doesn't come across well.

Saying "umm no..." makes it seem you think he is an idiot or something.

Translation of Azunaki's responce in a slightly less patronizing way,

No need to add any contact info on here they post the winners in the forum as well as in the news letter, also if you win you should notice a nifty little trophy added to all of your forum posts until the next competition can be seen to its close.

I have that problem, everyone thinks i come across very aggressive when i text but am normally very sincere when i write unless its {I] or other formats.

But thats just me lol...

yes and im sure that is well within the origional point and spirit of the competiton (apologizing in advanced im in a rather unpleasent mood today)

<asshat comment>
If we can move whatever we want to be in range of out computers and then model that there really isnt a point to giving the compo any constraints now is there, it might was well be a model any real world object competition.
<end asshat comment>

i think i still need more caffine today

first modeling competition i've ever entered; no i'm not mocking you, this is on my desk right now

Remember those old guys? They made epic renders, I think one of them was called DaVinci, and all they used was MS Paint. Sometimes it's just skill....

Blah, running out of time...must defend title!

I couldn't decided what to model, so after several starts and restarts I've come up with the object of choice. This object usually sits next to my computer for those times that I get bored or am waiting on something to do something on my pc.

Will spend the next few days on the texture, make it nice amd shiny, along with the normal map and maybe a spec. Good luck everyone.

I've decided to join in on this competition.

Mostly doing it for practice, though. I don't expect any rewards or anything. Making the Guitar Hero 360 controller that's laying beside me right now. Good luck everyone.

I think I will join this one, since I have real Maya now instead of the PLE. Probably will be a clay render or somesuch, I haven't learned how to do too much yet and there's only 6 days left.

EDIT: Clay render done, took about an hour for modelling and basic lighting/render setup.

Made with Maya 2010 and rendered with mental ray.

I don't know that I can get UV mapping and texturing down in the next 6 days, so this might as well be my final entry.

EDIT2: Duh, forgot to say: it's my alarm clock.

The average smoker spends $1500 per year on cigarettes. That amount of money could feed 16 impoverished third-world children for an entire year.

Enjoy your cancer.

well i dont have time to texture this for the competitions end, but i had it mapped to a degree. Here is the model, render and as an added bonus i took a little bit and rendered it into a turn table animation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0xqKtX6bGQ

if i remember correctly i was kind enough to turn mesh smooth off on the model though i had it on for the render, Cheers and gl to everyone

Hi!

This is my final entry!

A simple ant worker. Some of them often cross my desk

Made in Wings3D, textured in Gimp, the shot taken from the wings geometry window.

You can find the .obj file and jpg texture in the attachement.

Enjoy!

Hi AndrewT!

I just wanted to take a look of your model, but the 3ds file only takes 1kb, and I cant open the x file too.

Please correct, I want to see

Sorry, apparently I forgot to apply the modifiers in Blender so it didn't export correctly. I've fixed it.

Unfortunately the materials were accidentally lost while I was putting on some finishing touches. So it will be all white.

Finished!

Final Entry:

Not sure I did the download right...

I made a Winrar Zip Archive (or something of that sort. It said zip, so...)
I placed the model inside in a .x format.
I placed the texture in a .png format.
Last, I uploaded the .rar in an attachment.

Is this correct?
