For me there is only one word to describe the demo:

Refreshing!

It might still need a lot of polishing but for me it was a welcome change from all the "you are a supersoldier investigating some weird zombie stuff" stories. Of yourse you did choose a *franchise* but you're the first one doing "Saw" so far

I agree that it seems unnecessary to divide pickup and use but it didnt spoil the fun.

bug+spolier

PS: is it my /&%$§"! windows Vista or is the texture on the character really *squared*

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

I wanted to see what you have done, but it says the file is unavailable. Try re-uploading the file maybe on mediafire or filefront or if it is small enough just use the attachment below.I look forward to playing an updated demo.

Playing this was actually very nice, I didn't expect it to be so cool. I'd change the "Locked" tag that appears when you get near a locked door, as it ruins the overall look.

Keep up the good work.

In my oppinion, the game was a bit empty on scenery. The start was a bit hard since the switch was hard to find. It was hard to see stuff. You need to enable the flashlight so we know where the wrench is, in the dark. Make the ambience 5. If you want your game to look really good download the bump mapping shaders and apply them to everything in the game, but this is not a requirement. Overall, the demo gets a 4/5. You have shown a good recreation of SAW in your game, though it might need a little work with the lighting, audio, and scenery to get the 5/5 it should have.

good work
thanks

here are some numbers for you to make use of instead of having about 50 decals

they are black. if you want them to be in colour just edit them in paint.net.

I did not make the font in these numbers, I just edited it.

I am offering to rig some weapons to EAI's animations if you would like me to. (for practice)

thanks

Here is the font for you to do it yourself. I just wanted to know if it would make your game look better and if I could do it. I felt you were not quite getting the feel with the load page and menu. The audio from the load screen that I did for you is the actual theme song for the movie SAW. I enjoyed putting the whole thing together. I also made a whole loadbar and loadboxes just from trying to make stuff for your game. You can find them in the models and media page.

Try the demo and guess what? It was great!
But some of the areas was so dark i coudent see anything....
I had a real hard time finding the weapon....
And the first cutscene dindt match with the enviroment around it..

EDIT: Maybe add some stuff into where the guy is in the chair? other then that i felt like the entitys around the map was well placed, in a game like this its important not to overdo it nor having to little.

Other then that i enjoyed it quite alot!

Cant wait to try more!

Sorry if you've already fixed it, but i've corrected the grammar in the 2 screenies you've shown us

Some doors around the building haven't been used in such a long time that they have broken. To get through them, break them open with a weapon.

Watch out for various traps set up by inhabitants around the asylum. Blood pools and gore in an area indicate a trap is nearby, try to take a different route.

I really enjoyed this! It was a great gaming experience! One thing thou: The arrows were way too easy to get trought. I think it was Cosmic or someone like that who made an axe trap, that you really can't get trought from. But everything else was great!

I hear that excuse so many times on this forum ...if you were going to reset your computer, you should have at least taken out your hard drive to retrieve the files. That's what I did when my laptop also got a virus, I got all my files back and I just had to reinstall the operating system.

That's what I did. I backed up FPSC to external hardware and then Re-installed. However, I still had my old files in C:\Windows.old . However, it's still wise to backup.

No, I meant physically taking out your hard drive, connecting it via usb to another computer, and transferring files. If you aren't computer-savvy enough to do that, any computer/hardware store would have done it extremely cheaply.

Unfortunately... I can see that this was a flop.
Doesn't this need to be locked then? I was hoping to play the

Now that was just rude. I seemed to remember a good project that you simply abandoned due to your own impatience. Here perhaps you should look again before you make comments like this. Remember saying this :

Quote: "This forum isn't getting any attention so I tend to abandoned the current project and create something more keen to the communities' eye.
"

Sometimes just stepping back and reevaluating a project is what some people need to move on with a project. Take me for example I have several projects that I still work on. Maybe not as hard as when I first began the wip post, but I still bounce between all of them. Sometimes I learn a new trick or fpsc updates a new feature or a new mod like fenix mod or project blue come along and it makes a big difference in a great idea. You can look at Rolfy's Eldora and see that even he has taken a step back and learned some new tricks which he is now sharing with us.

It took hockeykid and I three days to make my game duck shoot and many people suggested that I make a bunch of mini games with the same idea and I began on it, but while I was at work one day my wife and/or kids just playing on the net got a virus that stop my work as far as getting animations into fpsc. I can make static models, but animations just get all screwy for me. I sent it in to have it worked on and I still cannot use my animations until I do a complete reformat and I just don't feel like transferring 2 terabytes of info over to disc or paying someone to do it for me.

My point is, don't expect everything that is posted is going to be the next great game and that two post after someone is going to surprise all of us with a demo and out of the blue a whole game. It would be nice to see, but not your average kid or adult at home has that much time at being able to write, produce and direct a decent game in a week without some trouble of everyday life.

This maybe seem rude to you, but that is not my intent. Be like Tanya on here. She is a great example of encouragement to new people on here no matter how crude their model or game might be.
(NOTE TO THE MODS : Tanya should get some kind of badge for being so cheerful on here.)
That is how we all should be. Always encouraging to one another no matter what.

I am in the process of remaking this game which will include( im gonna make a ww2 scifi game first.)

-custom models and segments
-custom shaders
-starmind's tricycle
-third person(maybe)
-more cutscenes
(and more)

I definitely will not abandoned this project mainly because of how unique it is and how many possibilities I can do with it.

I missed this before somehow, but I am going to keep en eye on it now.
I'm a sucker for fan based movie stuff, and this looks so cool it made me want to do a Saw level.

Thanks for the download starmind, and thanks for the demo bman, it's great.
I haven't finished it yet but I 'ran' into a bug.
It seems I get a crash if I run (holding down left shift) into a storyzone, but it doesn't happen if I walk.
It only happens on two of the three videos, both of them being AVIs. (the WMV doesn't do it)
You may want to change those AVIs to WMVs to avoid this happening to someone else.

I also notice a script name with special characters.
Some of the scripts had the desc commented out, so you may want to take a look at that too.

There is another bug with the door too (the one with the push bar handle) as you can throw a box through the top.
You can jump on the handle and just walk through too, so maybe the door needs swapping out too or adjusting.

Great game though as I have died many times, but I'll go back and finish it now.

I don't see why I'm being targeted here?
That was my early work and I learned from it
alright but I wanted to start fresh.

The fact you searched up my old stuff to roast
me shows that you must have done it for some sort
of spite. I'm not cuttin the dev down. I wanted to
play this thing in a finished state and I was let
down all the same.

Give me credit, my earliest stuff was garbage.
Dusk is still the title I always worked on though.
I threw all the rest away to focus on what I learned
and implement it. I don't use FPSC anymore but taking
me and comparing my poor project fail to this guys
masterpeice fail... is a fail.

I intended no rudeness either. I didn't throw away my
best work. "He did" at the time (past tense speaking
and only metaphoriclly). I also lost Dusk 3 times but
I didnt stop. I kept going. What you guys don't know is
that I had a game demo up a long time ago but I never
put progress up on TGC because of the people on these
boards. Long story short... I'm not a good comparsion
to what he did IMO.

I'm sorry if I seemed harsh but that wasn't my goal
