ok, here is my little bit, I dont know how many times I have to think this with out saying something, so here it is.

first off real good work there

second off Why in the world does every one think the world is grungy. mabey a abandend wharehouse, but wait, no. I have been to many abandened buildings in my life time and none of them was grungy. no rust, no water loged floors. so where is the reality. Now im not rushing to put your work down. it is realy good, but I need to know why every one on thease fourms is set to think there whole game needs to be grungy in order to be good? this is not the case. clean good modles is reality and people want to live the imaginary prosess. this is up to us to create, so yes mabey one or 2 levals where some stuff has some grunge. ok, i can see this, but not every little thing. to make it more relistic make only some things grungy, only one thing rusty, only a couple things shiny. well I said my piece,lol. sorry for ranting.

Started work on the max 10 again, ran it through another optimisation run, and got it down to 2550, i might kill some polygons in the stock but other than that i think im done with that, and i can move onto the uv map.

Decided to work on an old AK74U model i did, got the high poly almost done, clocks in around .25 million polygons.

i actually try to focus most of my models without a image. if i do i spend way to much time trying to get everything right and over thinking simple situations.

i wish people didn't hide half their images in black.(when you have a dark side try using a dark grey to go against it so people can actually see were your model is.

looks nice mate ,as Azunaki says try a lighter background for your render it will make it pop out more & will be a lot easyer to see.

Yeah, but i sort of didnt want to break from my plan, i wanted exactly one hour to get from nothing to a rendered image, and i sort of ran out of time, but i might just spend some more time on it today.

just press 8 on your keyboard in max to bring up the background properties box & pull down the slider to a lighter color,will take you about 2 seconds lol.

True, however it will not work as i am using a DX shader and thus have to take viewport grabs and not renders.

They look OK but have you got Normal maps or Specular maps on 'em? They just look very flat, is all.

that looks great. i didn't like the handle initially but the brown tone really brings it out, well done can't wait to see it finished
