@old_school first dbp is written in c+ as far as I know and the basic is lee's own basic.

Second window 7 users should have UAC turned off to use fpsc with no errors or problems.

why is it that I hate the bad quality for some reason. PB is Great but the quality is so bad (display quality) is there a way to improve / force it with your video card?

I discovered a big issue with the install process of Blue Project. I made a mistake in instalation guide that I gave hockeykid.

Issue:
Orginal docs suggest you change the orginal FPSC folder to "FPS Creator - Orginal" for temporary purpose. That parts great. The bad part is when you change the moded version to "FPS Creator mod". Windows Vista users or higher will see a issue. The folder will be demmed Read Only even after you reset permissions. An parts of it will not allow you to change it from Read Only even if you correct the permission by hand. So the mod version may work maybe once or twice, then you will have issues.

Solution:
After you get your Project Blue version setup. Cut and paste it to your c:\ drive. So instead of being in the path "c:\program files (x86)\The Game Creators\FPS Creator -Mod. The new path should be c:\FPS Creator -Mod. Applogies to those who allready used my setup guide. Its a quick easy fix. Ill keep everyone posted if anymore issues should arrive.

Sorry for any inncovence this issue may of caused. An I know this sounds confussing a bit at first. Ill clean it up when I feel better. Thanks.

I am not sure if we can offer Allopass for payment. PayPal is the most secure way for us to do transactions. If it's not possible for you to obtain a PayPal account, then is there a form of payment you can do through PayPal? (Such as credit card?)

Anyway. I'm having a real problem with bond1's filmgrain/adaptive bloom shader. It works with the migration, but doesn't with PB. Does anyone know why that is? Also, does anyone else get disappearing/uneditable doors? I've tired reinstalling and the cleaner and nothing works. Weird

Ok here is the error I get from Team Mode:

Runtime Error:301 Sprite number must be greater then zero at line 42107

Other side sends error:"runetime error 301"

Suggestion:
Can you allow backspace in the chat and when u type in your name in a update when u get time as well. Very annoying not being able to backspace.


Here is my setup.ini for the game if that helps find the issue:

UAC not the issue on this Titanium. This is a complied game. Works fine until I add the line of code at the bottom of the Setup.ini for team deathmatch. Which in my case is critical to have it working. Also has same crash on other testers machines as well. So its not just me. Tested it on XP, Vista, and mine which is Win 7 Pro. I do remember seeing this crash well something simular on FPSC V1.17 beta but after the beta it went away. Until now it looks like, not sure how you fix it. But what ever is on that line is messing stuff up. I guess Ill use the Bee mod thing until this is fixed.

Ok I got Team Mode working, now everyone is getting the famous waiting to join issue. Any solutions on how to fix that?

So I have a question, my current version of FPS Creator x9 is v1.18 c. My game starts up fine with full shader effects and etc. It does work but the problem is, some certain parts of the map with bond1 shader suddenly like mix in and make a big blob of red, white, green, etc of any light I make. So what I am asking is, do I have a version of FPS Creator that isn't stable with PB or is it bond1 shader? Just in case heres my graphics card : Nvidia GEforce 2 series GTX 285. Didn't work .I tested another map to see if I had same results I didn't so maybe I have something that shouldn't be in the map I made. Tomorrow maybe I can find out but for now sleep is needed zzzzz...!

That is a known issue I had with the bloom that is supplied with PB. It happens with both Bloom.fx and MB+B.fx

I think it has to do with ATi graphics cards...

My suggestion would be to try either the bloom from the official source, or bond1's adaptive bloom.

Darn well I don't have a ATi mines nvidia geforce 200 series gtx 285. Still I will try to using both, thank sof rthe help Ply and Lewis.

I haven't used it myself, but I would say that your best option for bloom would be bond1's adaptive bloom, which can be found in the Model & Media board.

Just wondering, do we have a ETA on how long before we get a update to fully support V1.17 - 9 or even v1.18 for project blue? Just wondring because I have a bunch of games ready to be complied but Im waiting on the update so Team Match will work without getting the dreaded waiting to join error.

Hi everyone!
I'm having a problem with PB: when I run a built game, the in-game pause menu gets stuck everytime. I simply can't move the mouse, so to exit from the game I need to use ALT+F4 or Task Manager to kill the process. Does anyone know why that is?

Hi guys, I'm having an issue trying to reinstall PB. I installed it yesterday but when I try to reinstall it it says my key code has already been activated. Do I need to deactivate it first or something?

It seems the firerate in this new version is botched. If I set it to say, 8, it will empty my magazine very fast, but the muzzleflash will show as if the firerate was set at 12.

EDIT: Also, when dual wielding, the left weapon's muzzleflash appears at a perfect rate.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, Toasty. I know the muzzleflash can sometimes appear to be flickering at a slower rate than the bullets being fired, but I didn't think it was unrealistic. Is there any way you can make a vid demonstrating this? Thanks!

Lush mod, lots of lag.
It's probably the fact I'm using a low end laptop, but I HAD been planning for my game to be usable on virtually any computer.
Oh well, I guess with all the new stuff I can make an overall better game, it'll just be a pain for me to test till I get my new PC.

@Ikey right now there is a bit of lag as the official source is still buggy but once the proper release comes out pb release will be alot better

Mmh, makes sense. I think I might be on 1.8c beta, so y'know. But yeah, if it gets faster, it'll be the perfect mod.

@Money, what OS you on? Does FPSC Work on 1.17 WITHOUT the mod?

Does it say "Project Blue" in the bottom corner? If not, then I recommend attempting a reinstall (uninstall FPSC, reinstall FPSC, update to the version that PB requires, then install PB again)

If it does say that PB is installed, then rest assured it's there, you'll just need to utilize the features before seeing a difference.

@ikey Im on windows 7.
@Soviet I cant install it at all and it does work with FPSC 1.17 installed its just the mod isn't installing, and I cant re install because of the "key has already been used" error.
@Plystire It does not have a Project Blue Logo in the corner , and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. PB requires 1.17 correct? I've updated to that version and tried the 1.18 beta as well. I also do have the full version with build upgrade so Im really unsure why it doesn't want to work. I would try re installing PB but again I got the "key has already been used" error.

Hockeykid can get you a new key if you email him about it.

But first, I want to make sure you're installing it correctly. The only thing that PB truly requires is for you to replace the FPSC-Game.exe file in your FPS Creator folder. Are you sure you did that? Because if you did, you would either experience problems (let's hope not) or you would see "Project Blue" in the bottom corner when running a test game.

I hope you can get it successfully installed.

I thought it didn't download it at all, as I selected the The Game Creators folder. It ended up in FPS Creator/Project Blue.
Check around for it, I had that exact problem to begin with. :L

Now, about what I said earlier about the lag, I'm guessing the bloom, etc WOULD mean it needs slightly better specs, as I can't run a level with a start and a single square of concrete on it. I don't really mind, I have a PC that I can move my PB over to, but I was just wondering what the lowest specs it could run on without lag on full shaders, etc. I dunno, it could just be my utter low end laptop, or whatever, but it does seem a big difference.

Hi,
I'm interested in using (and buying) this mod. However, for my project two functions are crucial. I just want to make sure, that I understand your manual correctly.
1. The condition ShotByWeap=X Y
Does the x is the name of the weapon, the slot or just the hand of the weapon?
2. If a user saves the game, is there an easy way to extract the content of the different variables?
If you could just give me a short answer about these two function, I can decide whether the mod has the necessary function for my project.

You can't expect every game to be able to run on every computer. That's a very difficult goal to achieve. FPSC in particular is already a tad over-intensive on the computer, so adding extra things to it (like bloom, motion blur, etc) is only going to increase the required power.


@Tony:

I've told you before. I'm afraid we can't offer support for that method of payment as PayPal is our safest bet for payments.


@nikas:

Well, considering hockeykid did that for Fenix Mod and I helped him with it, I don't think it would be too much for us to ask him to put it in. Keep an eye out of updates that mention such an addition.


@sberk:

1) X is the name of the weapon. Example: "shotbyweap=scifi/blaster 1"
That would return true if the entity had been shot by the scifi blaster. Also, if you use a 0 instead of a 1, it will return TRUE when the entity was shot by something OTHER than the blaster (if memory serves correctly... maybe someone can test that out for me, lol. That's how I had intended for it to work, though)

2) You have access to the variables through scripts only. So you will have access to ANY declared variables through any script in the game. You could declare a variable in one script and access it through another script, even, assuming that the variable had been declared before it was used, it won't cause a problem. Also, when attempting to access a variable that doesn't exist, the engine will tell you that it's value is "0". If you try to change a variable that doesn't exist,t he engine will ignore the action and continue on its way.

You will only have the acknowledgement from PayPal of your purchase. Other than that, we don't normally give full invoices for purchases, sorry.
