Alright, so it wasnt a bug... I just needed to install Microsoft C++ VB Redistributable 2010 to get the DLL and BAM!, it worked ... Now to see how much speed increase there really is

I'm glad you've managed to fix it. Just to remind anyone else who has this issue, you only need msvcp100.dll and not the whole of the VB Redist.


*UPDATE*

Fixed save game issue. Moved to RC4. You can download the latest version from the first post.

As always, should anyone be experiencing issues please post. We believe that this is the most stable version and hope to move from RC4 to the first full release soon.

After the full release we will be taking a break from WASPv2 Free to concentrate on WASPv2 pro commerical. This doesn't mean the end of updates to WASPv2 Free, but does allow us to concentrate on providing features we couldn't possibly have justified our time for in the free version. We're well into the initial development of WASPv2 Pro and we'll be starting a seperate thread soon outlining this new mod which we're certain you will be excited about.

Yes, managed to fix the problem but now I have a question... Im not registering any FPS increase with the mod. I was getting 6-10 fps with vanilla fpsc... On a tiny test level... And with the mod Im still only getting 8-15 fps Any reason for this.

My laptop specs are:
HP Pavillion dv6000
Intel Core 2 CPU
1.5 GB RAM
I dont think there is a video card
Windows Vista 32-bit

Laptop's Vga's are weak and even with an I7 CPU and 8GB memory on a laptop you can't play games with high FPS just because of weak VGA.

Have our guns was a mistake!!!

Well, that might not seem much, but it's 25% increase at the bottom end of the scale and 50% at the top end . I'd actually say that that laptop is pretty weak for FPSC in general and lack of a video card will be a major issue. I imagine that could well be the problem.

Hey Scene Commander, when I take a screenshot using F12, it shows the hud and stats in the picture and it's kinda annoying haha just thought I'd let you know.

I registering FPS increase with the mod (15-25 to 25-35 )

I can't replicate this error I'm afraid. Have you run FPSC cleaner prior to installing WASPv2? And if that doesn't solve the issue, can you supply and FPM using stock media which shows the issue please.

WASPv2 is for V118 offical release

Need help with the weapon flashlight script. Like if I were to write it what would it look like? I understand scripting, sort of. I just don't know how to write this one. I looked atthe sample in the wasp script folder and I just don't get it.

I ran the cleaner before and after, just in case, and I loaded up a stock map, "scifi-1.fpm", and I did change the start weapon to EAI's G36C, then it proceeded to give me the error.

"Runtime Error 7303 - Light does not exist at line 5357"

Nope, I tried it right after. Also, now the grid is floating off the screen and it keeps on asking me if I want to save what I have before the editor resets. I've tried yes and no and it just repeats itself. I've also attached a screenie.

Akanto10- not sure if this helps, but did you paste the additional WASP project files to the build game? Wasp/Files paste to 'mygame'. Or, if using in test session, files pasted in main FPSC 'Files' folder?

Also, version RC4 seems stable with save game images! Thanks!

@Akanto10 :- tested the scfi 1 map and have no problems at all,it looks like your fpsc has messed up if you got editer problems as wasp does not come in effect untill u test or play the game.

The best thing to do is unstall fpsc and do a reg clean and then del all folders left behind before installing fpsc again.

Also make sure u using v1.18 final for RC4.

I think I know what I did, I had a recently compiled version of FPSC (newer than v1.18 official) so that might have messed it up. Trying it out now.

EDIT: It works okay, but when I test a level, it freezes and tells me that my level is too big, etc.

I've noticed that turning off dynamic lighting in the setup .ini results in a crash while the game is loading.

is there a fix for this? if not, just reporting a bug.

Please test your map with vanilla, does it still lock up? Does it happen on all maps, or just one? If you can replicate with stock media please post a fpm for testing.

As above, does this also happen in vanilla? Does your file contain custom media? Can you replicate using default media, if so, please post an fpm.

Many WASP commands require working dynaminc lights. Are you attempting to use any of the lighting features? e.g. The flashlight? The moving lights? etc? I'll will however look into this issue in the meantime.

My map works fine in vanilla FPSC.


Also, and ideas on the screenshot problem?

Upon testing any game I make, the editor instantly crashes. Any solutions?

FPSC X9 V1.18 Final (Wasp V2 Latest)
Windows 7 32bit
Geforce 9800gt
Rest of specs I'm sure you don't need to know...

-I have latest drivers (included newest directx)

Every other mod such as PBUM have worked flawlessly. There simply seems to be some sort of error with Wasp V2. Not sure what it is, because it gives the generic "fpsc has encountered an issue, and needs to close" or something like that.

I think the reason i was lagging was because i edited the setup, could be wrong.


But i have not touched FPSC in 2 weeks now cause i was studying for my drivers knowledge test which i passed anyway i will probably boot it up on sunday and see if the lag still lingers...

But even before that, i will update to the latest version of wasp.

I think WASP is not working with Windows 7 64Bit Ultimate.
I think it need a dll file called:
MSVCR100.dll
Because it tells me need that file.

This mod is great! But can you unlock FPS? I mean in efx mod I get about 200-300 fps, in Wasp 60 fps like in normal FPSC without mods.

I have the WaspMod RC4 But i have a little..problem
when i use the Monster of Viral OutBreak and i kill it the don't die..just remove the collision but the entity is destroy...how i can fix this? the destroy script of ViralOutbreak don't work with WaspMod?

I too am having problems with the destroy scripts for the Viral Outbreak pack. I get the same problem as xlsheriklx, but also sometimes the characters will just freeze in the pose they were when i killed them. Also the medusa character freezes, but does not loose collision. And Spikey and Jaws characters will just fall back, as opposed to going into ragdoll.

I recently learned to sleep with my eyes open. ..... God am I tired

Yeah we been getting reports that some of bonds models animations dont play when they die,we need to work out if its something they added in the update(being we using the latest source) or something we done but we looking into it.

Things are moving along, a little slower than I'd have hoped due to real life taking up a lot of my time recently.

Just to update this a little as we will be starting a fresh thread when we're ready, but as a teaser we already have.

Some features from Ply's mod (used with kind permission)

A new full screen shader system, fully compatiable with the default post processing.

A new camera system (not ply's mod, but partically compatible with), allowing cameras to be attached to entities, to create entity eye views and entity offsets.

Yet more improvements to the engines speed, adding around another 20-30%. Allowing us to up the frame cap to a very smooth 80fps.

I'm sure I've added a lot more in the vay of features, but will need to read the pro manual to remind myself.

Scene Commander...take ur time man, real life issues are always first priority. The camera system and shader system sounds awesome.
I dont want to bothr you more, and I'm sure u dont want to release too much info..but will there be commands to change shaders in game?
