Thank you, I did it. And I have 2 more questions:

1- Can I combine Multiplayer and Singleplayer games by using this tool?

2- How can I change the cursor?

@ Bertanx : yes you can combine them, when you set your multiplayer button on the first screen and edit the maps screen, the player clickes it and it will go to the map select screen. and also you can change the cursor just by replacing the cursor image in the GFX folder.

@ Leongamerz : your welcome, I'm glad you like it. just trying to get in it what I want for my games and felt like sharing.

It still could be better in my opinion and I have improvements in mind, also thinking about adding encryption.

One more question, I made a very cool menu for my singleplayer game, but the problem is, when I click singleplayer button, my original game appears, with normal "New Game", "Load Game", "Exit Game". It doesn't directly open the game. Can the program do this or is it just like a launcher?

it is just a launcher, but if you want to bypass FPSC's title menu, you'll have to edit the titlepage.fpi and setuplevel.fpi .

in titlepage.fpi replace the original script with this

and in the setuplevel.fpi, find the line ":state=4,hudselectionmade=5:continuegame,destroy"

and replace it with ":state=4,hudselectionmade=5:quitgame,destroy
"

that will bypass the title menu and when you select exit from the pause menu it will exit the game

Thanks, King Fluffs.

and Bertanx, I assumed thats what you wanted, was to bypass the FPSC title screen. that got me to thinking that its not necessary to have it in the game, so I'm going to make that gone in the next version and just add the loadgame button to Infector. I think it would feel more like part of the game than just a launcher. and also that would eliminate some files .

Yea, I don't think think norton is developer or gamer friendly, I had the same problem a while back and had a heck of a time removing it from my pc, I use avg along with zonealarm and that has treated me well for quite some time now. but since the file control.exe literally takes control of the keyboard and mouse, norton see's it as a threat. norton did that when I bought and installed the first copy of max payne and there were numerous complaints on the web about it deleting allowed files.
so that's why I quit norton.

but on a lighter side.
Progress report:

did away with FPSC's title screen, so now you have your created menu and then goes directly to game.
didn't think it was necessary to add a loadgame button since you have the profile screen.
also cleaned up files and lowered the size(not much)
searching for bugs
and still looking into encryption

progress:

added option at the end of build to pack the game, it will archive to about half the original size
compressed 735mb down to 368mb (not encrypted)

Processor AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor, 3210 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
it took about 20 seconds to unpack 735mb of game data, so I think thats reasonable.

I used 7z commandline for the archive because the liscence is clear on redistributing its parts and also because it only took me an hour to add it to Infector.

need to update the help file

almost ready to release v1.0 , just need to bugtest (all this week)
I expect it to be very stable.
editing the FPSC game will automatically bypass the title screen so you'll have to add the profiles if you want saving and loading.

also added independent button to bypass for GUIX9 menus.
the packing is not secure but it makes a large game easier to distribute.

and I don't see any reason any 3rd party security tool wouldn't work with this.(I haven't tried it, so don't hold me to that)

Made a lot of changes an bug fixes, I think you will like.
I didn't include the free resources in this one because of file size.

Just dropped in to let everyone know about the current project.

I already have a server and client chat module built, client sends its ip and connection status back to the server which creates a list of all clients connected.
can give admin status, kick, ban and more.
still a lot of work to do.

I've had to make a mod to read the selected ip

I will post my source when all is finished and tested.
This will not be a competitive alternative for FPSCIP, just a basic lobby that will be added to the Infector program.

This is my busy season for my real job, but be patient, I'm still working on this.

My mod is currently compiled in the 115 source because of procrastination, but I will be purchasing dark ai soon so it will be with the current source.

I hope everyone will like it.

Thanks Jayskull900

I've decided to change my mod code, instead of adding another file,
I've added a couple of commands for fpi script.
getting a headache trying to pull in an ip address though.

one of the commands is : joinip=
that way any programmer can use it and it's not limited to Infector.

puzzle for me now is getting the ip to stop showing as an integer or a float even when I call it a string.
Hopefully I'll have something good mid summer.

ok got two commands tested and working:
playername=
joinip=

so an arenapage.fpi like this:

would bypass name and ip entry and go strait to the game.

Posted S812 mod download, I'm only focusing on the multiplayer side except for one future command I'll add to execute an external program (execute=filename.exe) just because I can find a use for this.

The Infector lobby and serverlist is coming along, need to work out a few things and test.

OK, I see. Actually, that's my kind of sense of humour and I would have expected it except there are so many members here whose primary language is not English, I wasn't sure.

Since I've been following the threads including hers about wanting a launcher that can launch a level after a level was played, I did know the history.

No problem, I was born in CA and live in arkansas so my english is pretty good, I noticed your posts, and I don't try to step on toes or anything, I just do what I do. nice job on the mod by the way, I couldn't find any efficient way of getting the execute command right without using another plugin so I resorted to my best friend "DOS"
I'm looking into some alternatives.

Ahh I do not know what a OP is in game language. To me OP is short for Operation Room.

I must say this is probably the most awesome tool for Distributing large games there is.
Think about this.. You have a game, and there is ONE setuplevel.fpi ONE Titlepage.fpi ONE gameover and so on no matter
how many levels you build. One or a hundred.
With a standalone gamelinker it gives everyone the ability to design games that are a step above what you can do now.
I am sure I will be chastised as there are probably other ways to do the same thing. However read on.

Or like me. My games are all 20 to 50+ levels ( I tell stories you can say "Or Try to" ) So a gamelinker is the only way to Professionally distribute the whole game in ONE unit.

Life is a short trip to another world

and still working the bugs out of Infector, I really wish I could have thought of a better name for that.

The above image is the WIP for Infector, got a lot of bugs worked out
it is a server and client modules that will make FPSC totally independent from getting the server list from the website and give admin, kick and ban functionality. The image is "bare bones", it will not look like this when finished.

Just wanted to throw out some proof that Infector is going to be updated and after that I'm going to take a gander into S812 Mod's multiplayer code and see if I can make it do my bidding.

some Ideas for the mod I have:
3rd person multiplayer - I can vision a way to do this
server controlled ai - probably biting off more than I can chew
capture the flag - seems do'able

but like I've said before, my job takes a lot of my time so I only get most weekends free to work on the computer.

When I try to download it, my anti-virus (I'm using Norton) removes it the installer, saying that it poses a risk to my computer.

Norton is the only Antivirus I know of that is doing that, it's because of the file "control.exe" which is a AHK script I wrote that takes control of the keyboard and mouse and maps to a game pad.
I'm doing away with this in the new verson that is still under construction.
