Thanks, I'll save the cherries for later.

I wont be able to get bone animation ragdolls in before release as I am doing college work also, but it should not be long before I can update with this feature plus any fixes or smaller requests people may have.

Sounds good chap. I don't even have a character to send tumbling down a staircase yet, so I will be content with smashing boxes together for several weeks.

I have provided TGC with the plugin ready for release so your guess is as good as mine

I just think they have been very busy with the new website and a few other things over the last couple of weeks.

It won't be long now mate, I'm sure. The TGC guys are definitely very busy at the moment, but I'm sure it's towards the top of their priority list!

Ha ha, you beat me to it.

Yes it has been released, I think it's also going to share the Dark Physics forum section so any questions can go there.

Let me know of any issues/suggestions, there is an update being worked on right now, probably be ready in a few weeks.

When can we look forward to getting bone animation ragdoll? Would bone animation ragdolls work with the zombie Apocalypse model packs? I think they are boned models, bip, or something like that.

I also have a request:
- Can you get the position, rotation of each particle or fluid particle? That would help out immensely.

Congrats on the release.

I have an interesting question actually... It may have been discussed already but I made a tech demo a while ago and was curious to know how if it does... how well DD runs and works with Instanced objects as i could not get it to work before with DP I had to create a new object everytime which hogged down on the system...

for any one not willing to upgrade to the broken DBP
and wanting to stick with 7.61

it will not work

because of how DBP is built
unless it told to let it be part of it
it will not ;o(

That may be related to my problem then...
I'm trying to activate my copy and it is telling the product is unknown.
Is there a different version of DBPro I'm supposed to be using?
I've tried both 7.61 and the latest 7.7 from the thread in DBPro Discussion.

All FPSC models use bone animation and as far as I know all the models are set up the same. These will work when I update with bone animations in a few weeks.

I am also going to add more support for different rendering techniques for particles/fluids. I will add some commands to give you more control by getting the positions yourself, they do not have rotations.

Not sure what the issue was with Dark Physics but if there is a similar issue here then I'm sure I could get it sorted, I can't see why there would be an issue.

@Resourceful/Andrew
TGC put protection on their plugins and for this reason you need to update when a new plugin is released.

I get that but I'm a little confused as to which update it is I need. I was originally up to date with the latest version as listed on the main site. I have now also tried the latest version from the public release candidate in the forums. Neither of them allow Dark Dynamix to work. Please can you point me at what update it is I'm supposed to be using?

Thanks.

I have just emailed Mike to find out.

I'm pretty sure the update should have been released yesterday otherwise it will not work with Dynamix. It should also be updated from the last stable version of DBPro, not a beta version.

Hopefully he will get back to me soon and I'll let you know.

hi all

this is the second time DBP has had such a problem

it seems the way they built it DBP had to have a knowledge that the plugin to be known

if they had built the DBP to find that it was registered
and also build a code for DBP to read then this would not be a problem it would be able to know that some thing new has been added

with every new pay add on this will keep happening with it

No worries, I know that side of it wasn't in your control so I'm grateful for you going the extra mile there. All the examples compile and run very smoothly so you have at least one satisfied customer already.

get this I temporarily moved the official Dark DynamiX dll out
and used the time limited one in and I was able to build ;o)
the one example I tried "Height Fields" chugged but I am
guessing because the dll is not optimized

@Matty H

would it be an option to release anther time limited optimized
version of "Dark DynamiX" so at least I can run the example
at the right speed ?

I forgot to mention it was in the "High Map" example
is ware it was slow but I guess some of that is because
of the amount of data it has to deal with

I only had 2 examples that would not run because
there were new commands added after the time limited dll was released

@Resourceful

You should not need to use time limited version now as you can update to 7.62 here

It runs slow because the debug renderer is probably on, turn that off and it should be fine.

You only need to use debug renderer while you set up and check your terrain to be sure it has worked correctly.

and some others are going to work ?

I guess the update took them a bit lol

umm one more things I need is the program that build's
the tet file for soft body it seems the latest down loaded-able
is missing that program and I am thinking others will need to have it
so they can create there own soft body objects

@Resourceful

I have created a thread in the Dark Dynamix section of the forum as other people could also experience this issue in the future.

As far as 7.62 goes I think it will be exactly the same as 7.61 apart from the fact this plugin has been added.

ALSO: I'm not sure if Nvidia has even released it yet, but are you going to add shatterable objects?

Not heard of that although when I first implemented soft bodies I did it wrong and ended up creating objects which crumbled apart, I fixed it and now I can't remember exactly how I did it.

There are more important things which I will add first but I might look at trying to add object crumbling back in again. That said, the objects that crumbled could not be textured but you would be able to apply shaders to them I think, I will go into more detail if I think I can put it in at some point.

glad I did not have to

I just have to rebuild the exe I did with the 5 minute time limit dll
and every thing is run's as it should

after some hunting around and some file filtering I now have
"PhysXViewer" which is used to convert your objects to make soft body's

the way I see it every one who buy's "Dark DynamiX"
should at least get a link to download it or have it as part of it

if any one want's it

just E-mail me and I will send you the link to download it

Thanks Resourceful, it can be a good idea to sign up and get a PhysX developer account and download PhysX 2.8.4. It's all free and you get the PhysX viewer with quite a few models to play with.

I am working on an obj-dbo converter which should be available in the next update.

Not that I know of, sorry.

It's a bit of a pain during development but when you release your projects you can tidy everything up with an installer.

When not using an installer I put the main exe in the bin folder with the dlls and then either provide a link to the exe or I think you can create another program which just runs the main program but from another(tidy) location.

If anyone knows of any better solutions then let me know, thanks.

as near as i understand you have it run a program from inside it
that program checks to see what version you currently have installed or if you do not have any of it installed

if you have a version installed it checks to see if the one installed
is the same or older

if it's older it would then ask user if is to be updated
the user yes then it over writes the files and
the next two thoughts would be to run the program or just quit out of the installer and remove the temp stuff

I know same process can be dun with winrar or winzip
