Approved. Does anyone know if the email for the tablet offer is sent before or after we post our app for sale after it's approved? I still haven't recieved any confirmation whether or not I'll be getting a tablet.

I can answer that question, I just received a confirmation e-mail saying my app qualified for a free tablet YAY!! I wasn't at all confident my simple concept would be enough for them to consider it a full game, or worthy of a tablet, but they did so great!

But I didn't get the qualified e-mail until I placed my app on the store system, about 12 hours later I received the notification that I was entitled to a free tablet!

So the process as far as I can see it is.

1) app is approved
2) app is added to store by user
3) considered for free tablet
4) confirmed or rejected for free tablet offer and shipping information is requested.

In theory my shiny new playbook tablet should be shipped within 72 hours, I dare say they are using a super economical courier service for this so it might be a few weeks until it shows up. But when it does, I'll certainly post it's arrival on here!

* does the new tablet jigg *

It doesn't seem to depend on posting it for sale, others have got the email regardless. Personally, I'd put it up for sale to be on the safe side, my next confirmation email took 4 days to arrive.

1) app is approved
Mine is not yet
2) app is added to store by user
Mine is not yet
3) considered for free tablet
I seemed to skip straight here
4) confirmed or rejected for free tablet offer and shipping information is requested.
...had this too.

My game has not even passed validation yet. Maybe it helps if they check your website and see you already have published games? I don't know if that makes a difference...

This is my first published game, so I don't think that's a factor.

Little thing, once you create the draft, did you click on the submit for review link at the bottom? I know it's a little thing, but I didn't notice until I'd added about 5 revisions of the game (bugfix submissions). Of course that link may only have been there because I was submitting new revisions. Still it's worth logging in and checking that you did in fact submit the app for review.

A long 72 hours before shipment but I'm not complaining!

Nice one Baxslash!
Did you manage to fix your app?

I have finally managed to get hold of an actual Playbook & got around to check exactly how to make a Portrait app! All seems to work faultlessly!

Hope they do another offer next year!!!!!!!

Quote: "Delivery time is subject to Device availability and may be delayed due to high demand and timing of product launch. Eligible Participants are responsible for all federal, state or local taxes, tariffs, import duty fees, and any other costs or expenses that may be associated with receipt of the Device."

In the past however I have only had to pay duty (at the Post Office) for items sent from abroad via the Postal Service.
I am not sure what happens when items are sent by Fedex (courier).

Mind you, it's not as though we have bought the Playbook, is has been sent FoC. I guess we will wait and see what happens.

I was just wondering how long it takes from when you release the App for sale at their website to you get a e-mail asking for delivery address. I would like to know when I can expect to get the PlayBook(if i get it at all).

PS. I'm downloading your game, Ched80 :3

Well, my app is approved! I sent an email asking about the code signing error and whether I still qualify and I got a cut and paste response:

Quote: "As long as your application was submitted to BlackBerry App World by March 2nd, you qualify for the free BlackBerry PlayBook offer. Once you resolve the issues with your application, resubmit, and the application is approved for sale, you will be eligible for a BlackBerry PlayBook. For more answers to FAQs about this offer, please visit http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/playbook_offer2012.jsp."

So I think I am going to send them another email saying I got approved for sale. I WANT MY PLAYBOOK!

Here is the link to my game, link.

@kamac - what version of the operating system are you running? I could only test my game with v1.0.8 on the simulator and all worked fine then.

I'm not convinced the newer OS would cause the problem, but I'll test it myself when I get my toy.

Yes, I got a dispatch confirmation email 7 days after filling in the delivery address email, it gave a Fedex tracking number which could be tracked on-line so I knew the delivery day.

Hopefully you will get yours soon.

My playbook is just downloading updates during set up...

Arrived this morning! Very smart bit of kit.

Anyone having trouble connecting to a BT Home Hub during set up make sure that the hub is set to a channel less than 10 for it to work. Mine was on channel 11 and I spent the last 25 minutes trying to find a solution on the net...

You can't set up without internet connection.

Edit: just made this edit using the playbook!!!

I just got my tracking number, fedex say my shiny new tablet should be here by friday 30th

Nice to get another boost to my development arsenal, I've now got an iPod Touch, iPad 1st gen, Sony Xperia Play (Android 2.3.3), Asus TF101 (Android 4.0.3), an EEE PC netbook, and soon I'll get a playbook. All I need now is a Samsung Bada Wave II phone, and a Mac...

E-mail them, all I did was reply to their original 72 estimate e-mail, they responded within three days.

Since then it's been dispatched and is now, annoyingly! Sitting in London with customs because RIM didn't bother to complete the paperwork properly. When held by customs it's not unusual for these packages to be held up to 3 weeks and if unclaimed the device could be destroyed. I hope that doesn't happen! Hopefully I've caught this pretty quick and the process will start moving again.
