please never say new total recall.
as it is not new it is just a remake of an old film and by the looks of it(the advert lol) it looks nothing like it should for a remake of the original.

[on topic]

@ gozzy1999, Sorry about that. I only said "new" to differentiate between the 90's movie and the one from this year.

Hey guys! Long time no upgrade. I was kind of preoccupied with cleaning and rearranging my room, artschool and a sick cat...but now I'm back with a little upgrade.

But first, lets review your feedback:

I can give you folks bare arms, but fingerless gloves...eh! I can't promise anything. I see what I can do about that though

Now some new props.

Thanks!

I just came home watching the total rekall movie aswell, and even though I usually despise unimaginative rehashes, remakes or sequels for the sake of making money based on viewer statistics...this one was...not! The movie was surprisingly good and entertaining.

I started this before I left and darn it! I have a heavy buzz and I came dangerously close to falling asleep on my keyboard, but I finished it!

Its supposed to be hung in a public place like on the front wall of a mall entrance, it shows news, the weather and wanted terrorists but this can be changed by the user according to his/her storyline.

This time I present one of Bugsy's machine designs (he tells you what it is) and a bunch of add plates for subways etc.

until next time! I keep pumping in models until the end of month. And yes, Bugs! I get to the building parts now

I would really love to see more variations with the computer screens, including previous models. Or maybe have a blank texture version so we can add our own.

The texture layout is very simple you can easily make your own.

I dont really see a point in making a blank texture...you can easily brush over the texture already there

Content of this pack looks very consistent so far. Good work, guys!

How about adding a couple of differet security cameras from shiny to grungy and including some floating ones?

The work on this pack looks incredible so far, it carries a tone that's been widely missing in media for FPSC over the years. Very excited to buy this one.

Sorry if I missed you talking about this anywhere in the thread Wolf, but I was wondering, your old skyboxes were really unique and well made, do you plan on incorporating any new ones into this pack to complete the spectrum?

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

Perfect! Now I really can't wait for this. The screenshots alone have given me a lot of inspiration. Again sorry if I've overlooked you two talking about this, but is there any estimate on a release date?

Hey there forum!

Just sending a little lifebeep out there!

Yeah, I know, they don't look like much, but the texture layout is really simple so we can easily make a couple dozen before release

Hey there!

I now started to work on buildings that are detailed enough to place in the accessable parts of your maps. These are the heartpiece of this pack and I should make quiet a few.

Bugsy and I decided to make a couple pack and we agreed on this one being sort of a general city pack.

First image:

It comes in day and nighttime versions. The _I map of the upper part might need a bit more adjustments but this is all still a work in progress:

All right! Quadropost! Eihter I'm on a roll or you guys are not

This is a little overpass / bridge object. You can use it to link buildings together or in your industrial levels. The bugsman can use it for his parcour, rooftop levels and the actionnuts can place snipers on it.

More to come! Feedback is appreciated!

Yes! Indeed!

I have remade it and figured it would make a nice bridge (and it has only 10% of the polycount)

Thank you! I feel like I'm not quite "there yet" with the building assets. I'll give them some slight changes soon.

Here are some machines. I made them in the heatwave yesterday so don't expect miraclework.

Glad to impress They are not as big as I want them to be...FPSC stops displaying entities once they reach a certain height...so no huge skyscraping towers.

Only 9 more days to add content to this pack and then we wrap it all up!

I added some more addsigns/ holosigns... cyberpunk stuff.

I also took a leap of faith here at using the picture of my best friend as an addmodel... I still have to ask her if she is cool with this, if not I will have to change the image.

Edit:: and I can use it.

Perhaps dividing it into 2 or more pieces? Which could in turn allow greater variety

@ wolf-
There's no height limit for entities- the only specific problem with large objects is if they're too high-poly. If that's the case, they won't react to lighting. entities will stop displaying if they crest over 20 segments high, however they can be placed below the bottom layer by using pg-down. I've had this experience too many times considering just how vertical my maps are

DO NOT! you cant move them anymore nor delete them once they are below 0 level because you cant reach them anymore. not that drama, doesnt inflict any problems, except that you can never remove or move them again.

but you are right, statics size is only limited by mapsize (as far as i remember nonstatics dissapear sometimes when pivot is out of player-FOV, but statics do not... most of the time maybe^^. i use elements 12 levels high, working fine as statics)

wow guys, really amazing stuff. I had a question about the billboards you posted, are they in sets of three? or are they individual? I was thinking if they were in sets of three maybe a couple of alt textures would be nice which maybe is simply swapping some one poster with another from a different set of three. It would help with individualism and creationism, also if there in a set a single version would be nice
you guys should be proud, your coming up with amazing stuff as always!

yeah that does happen, but i sketch out all my maps before i make them so I know if i need to go below the minimum level, and where.

They are in sets of three. Maybe I get myself to make them separate aswell next week Yeah! you get some more variations.

Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow I will present the last entities that will make it in this pack and send them to Bugsy, he will make them FPSC Ready, send all the stuff over to me where I iron out some issues and make the little icons. Then I will create as much texture variations as I like while bugsy animates the guns. (I still have to finish that hand mesh...should be done within the next 3 days). Tweaking the guns should take some time too then. Well, my personal releasedate is the 15th september but I'm pretty sure we can make it earlier. Once everything is tied up neatly you can buy our first pack

You are working with fpscreator so you might want to add a 3 days bufferperiod to building that game.

Glad to count you in on the buyers list We start a preorder pool next time, right bugs?

I made a singular cam too but I managed to lose it on my harddrive. I didnt feel like redoing it right away and finished these two meshes.

On my best rig, compiling 12 levels with 1500MB each (maximum to ensure save / load works properly) takes ~ 8 hours.

@Ertlov: I was more refering to "the program has decided to end for the sake of it, extra debug info: 0,0,0" issues ...I was merely joking too

Bad news: my hand rig's facelayout does not allow me to make fingerless gloves. I would have to battle with all kinds of seems and misplaced vertexes so I'm afraid we'll have to agree on fullfinger gloves.

Good news: the handrig turned out very well and beyond my expectations. I will have gun and hand texture on the same maplayout so you can have these shiny leather and normalmap effects as shown in this presentation too... or a similar effect.

Edit: I forgot the screenshot:

The way EAI handles textures and shaders in teh TF341 Pack seems to be the most efficient in FPSC.

No really I always like to see whenever someone who knows what effort actually is in the creation of a textured 3D Model.

Alright guys! This is it! what you see on these pages will be in the pack and more Bugsy has been developing in the shadows Well...most will have multiple alternative textures as I stated before and I'll get to this next week.

I'm sorry that I did not create all the models I wanted to do but I don't intend to retire from modeling and art any time soon.

until wolf sends me the rigged hands/guns to work my magic on, I'll have to just keep modelling, then when we finally compile the pack, we'll have lots of nice stuff made by me too

here's some stuff I made today, building facades to go with the building blocks, and advertsigns!
