@Digital Awakening - just played the demo on Steam. It's a game with a great amount of balance in the game play and the style is very good. I think you might do well out of it on Steam.

Do you have a date for when it's launching?

Well done, I know you have spent a lot of time on the game. It's great to see you follow through and get it to a full release.

I have done Steam badges today. Level 1-5 + foil. They look better on a dark page.

What do you think?

Feels nice to do something like this for a change

Nice one , seems several AppGameKit games have lunched on steam this month, with any luck mine will go up next month (see no point releasing it any earlier). I am real eager to see if Steam is a viable platform or if 'good' games get drowned out bu the asset flips and trash that made green-light such a mess.

Now if only TGC added the ability to use Steam to it's fullest with achievement and such. /nudge /nudge

Thanks Supertino

If you can you should hold on to your game for a while. You can get the store page up and ask people to add it to their wish list and send out review codes. But according to an article I read you should not release during sep-dec due to the amount of games releasing during this time.

Also, as you say a lot of crap is being released right now and perhaps Valve will find a solution to that.

Since I don't have a job right now I have to release it. For me it is also a foundation to stand on, something I can show to others.

I really wish AppGameKit had support for Steam Achievements. I had someone asking on Steam if they would be added before launch.

Thank you so much GarBenjamin

I do need some reviews from people who have played the game and liked it. Will be working on promotion this week.

Thanks Gekko

It's currently PC only and I am working on other platforms. I've been having trouble with Apples registration process and haven't had time and energy to get that sorted. Next platform will probably be MacOS.

Someone made a Youtube video of RTA. Considering pointing out that it's easier to not go through the cemetery this early

Been really busy lately. I'm teaching programming a few days this month, and probably an evening class in November. Pays well by the hour but requires at least as many hours of preparation.

Next week I will be at the Arctic Game Lab booth at Sweden Game Conference in Skövde. A super early flight on Thursday, after teaching for two full days Monday-Tuesday.

Still haven't completed the Apple developer registration process, but it's on my to do list. Apparently you have to call them to get billed without VAT and I was doing it outside business hours and haven't got around to it since.

I got a review written by a Swedish gaming site (in Swedish): http://www.gameelite.se/all-review-list/rush-to-adventure/

Got a new job as a full-time system developer. Starting tomorrow. Since I'm not making enough money with my own company I can't pass on this opportunity.

Talked to a publisher about RTA when I went to Sweden Game Conference. Still haven't heard back from them. Will see how things go.

Congrats on the job. I reckon that's a good call. You can always develop games in the evening/weekend - that's what I'm doing with Aquillanto. The only issue I find is that when I'm doing a lot of pure computer work at work it diminishes my desire to do it again in the evening! Well done on releasing a full game on steam that is an achievement in its own right.

I'm working too, while developing my game. It takes away a lot of headache keeping up with the rent. However I try to keep the jobs simple so that it does not distract me from my passion.

First day done, doesn't seem to tire me out as much as my last job. Not that we did a lot of coding today.

It really is a great game. And I haven't forgot about leaving you a review. I just got burned out on game dev and the whole Indie game scene for a while. You really did a great job on this. The graphics are very colorful and interesting to look at. The control is excellent and everything just feels well balanced and polished. It is very obvious you put a lot of work and care into making this game.

Hope it gets more exposure. I think that is the problem you are facing. Just buried on Steam. Hopefully your new job is going well too!

Not yet. I'm hoping for more sales once I get achivements working and bigger discounts, maybe some bundle etc. But I want to get achievements working before I try to push it further.

Just completed the artwork for my achievements. Well, I actually have a hard time deciding on the style. So I have 3 styles for how they look when you get them. The bottom right is how they look when you don't have them.

Which one do you prefer?
A Top left, outlines on both frames and icons.
B Bottom left, outlines on frames only.
C Top right, no outlines.

I have settled for option A. Pretty much everybody prefer that one.

Yesterday I made a bunch more icons. A total of 39 achievements.

Not sure when they will be fully implemented.

I need your help!

I am working on visibility for Rush to Adventure. I have set up a new Youtube channel for my company and I need my trailer to be the number one video when you search for Rush to Adventure on Youtube. My old video doesn't even show...

I really need your views and likes! Also I need 100 subscribers to get a custom channel URL.

Happily subbed and liked. I think getting those achievements in then doing a "visibility" round on Steam will do wonders.

Thanks guys

39 achievements have been set up in Steam. That was a lot of tedious work.
I have implemented 5 minor fixes to the game.
Will now look into that Steam plugin. Great timing with the forum not working yesterday...

BTW, a German guy is doing a play through (in German) of Rush to Adventure

Lovely, I just revised some German. Watching the game makes me wonder what it would have been like to play a game like this on the NES of old.
