No no, you were fine, and there is nothing wrong with posting multiple variations! Indeed, two variations of the same thing won't both be chosen to go into banner circulation, but I would encourage you to post as many variations of a given banner as possible. It does give more choice.

Those are pretty good!

Quote: "Also, I insist to remove banners with "apollo" text as here is not apollo anymore AFAIR"

It's still Apollo.

Quote: "edit: here!"

Good grief mr Handy, that's from 2004! I'm not sure that still applies 10 years later.

Quote: "Maybe change text to "Unleash me..."? with same Lee Bamber picture? IMO funnier."

Disagree. "Unleash me..." sounds really creepy.

Quote: "I shall resurrect my old question: why this banner contains Ubisoft's Assassin's creed copyrighted elements?"

Why not? It's fan-made and Ubisoft couldn't care less.

Quote: "Anyways, thanks for compiling all of the true entries into one post Clonkex (At least up until that point). Makes it easier to keep track of them"

Haha no problem I'll do another list when there's more banners, but bear in mind these lists are purely my opinion of good banners.

Quote: "two variations of the same thing won't both be chosen to go into banner circulation"

So it is still Apollo, okay, why not, just was random thought.

Quote: ""Unleash me..." sounds really creepy."

aaand we have one creepy "trapped inside" banner, yeah.

Quote: "Why not? It's fan-made and Ubisoft couldn't care less."

Rule in the first post was written not by me, so.

Quote: "How did you find a post from 2004"

Quote: "Good grief mr Handy, that's from 2004!"

I feel it was like the day before yesterday.

I have a file on my computer with all of the thus far submitted banners; I can post a screen shot of that any time someone requests. In fact, I'll do one now...

Quote: "the same thing shouldn't both be chosen"
I saw those two banners as well, and I presume that was a mistake during the previous selection of banners.

Quote: "Why not? It's fan-made and Ubisoft couldn't care less."
I'm too lazy to see what banner you guys are talking about, but I would recommend against using any copyrighted material at all, unless said material is owned by TGC, since the forums are indeed a commercial website of TGC's; they would be putting themselves up to a huge liability by displaying site banners with copyrighted material.

If you are putting all submissions, why don't you put my third "gloom doom" banner?

Yay! If you ask me which one of my three banners I like the most - take that one with "personal appeal"

The three blank images are a bit of a joke actually, the black one to make someone feel unnerving... the plain post colour as if something is missing or they already have seen the page lol and the blue unread post colour to confuse even further

I am just not so sure about that abusive U77 banner... I find it rude, just my view... if this was my company would not allow it to put it simply...

Quote: "creepy "trapped inside" banner"

I never liked that one either...

Dark Java Dude 64 - I see what you mean by keeping things in order now, did not realise you had that planned...

Yeah I think multiple variants, are just for choice, sometimes the designer can never pick a finished quality... or impression...

Anything I have missed to mention on, oh well...

Quote: "personal appeal"

I find this one a bit tasteless as well... I know where your Russian humour is coming from, but sometimes you need to think three times or more before letting it out... not a jibe at you, just making this place a little more bearable... not everybody has had Russian comradeship the past... I miss my Russian friend Ruslan from back in my days in Denmark, that guy was a joker indeed [Ever done that Role-Play in a PUB thing? we almost got arrested for running around with fake guns lol] sadly he had to defect from Russia for some local issue, no idea but anyway... do try to not push the limits of the AUP man... I doubt Lee would find the above humorous but if he does, 1UP on him then...

[1] banner is a joke about the performance on the forum, I only half made it as I could not figure out how to put the text in there which would make it readable as often a post would take a blink of an eye to post, and then randomly 4-5+ seconds to submit...

OH No Dark Java Dude 64 , you included my silly banner [17] or [36] in your image

Some of my ideas cannot fit into the dimensions... hmm will try my other methods... and some other tools to attempt it like strictly using Vector Art tools

EDIT

Personally I don't like editions 10+11+12 of my submissions... don't feel the fonts are clear enough

EDIT

#26

Thank you!

Ah, that's a relief. Apollo had been used the last few years, so i figured it would still be good.

Hahhaha, i made those a couple of years ago.
Not sure why they both got picked, though.

Quote: "The Slayer - I not i"

Fixed, thanks MrValentine!

Made a couple of new ones, and fixed the 'I' on the one with 'Wherever i lay my hat...'.

Fixed banner:

Will make one later still...

EDIT

I confess, I did not put all that much effort into it as I feel the above version is much better... [The one from The Slayer]

I'm sorry, somehow the moon banners are 2 pixels too tall. I think my canvas was resized when I added a drop shadow D: Anyways, here's the fixed version of our favorite of them If one of the other moon ones needs to be fixed just ask (the other banner I posted is fine btw)

Anyways, here's another one. It didn't scale well, but there isn't much I can do about that Thought it would be fun to keep a Steam styled one

It was a joke banner with a corresponding warning. It was not intended to be a forum banner. Keep your eyes open

Quote: "I find this one a bit tasteless as well... I know where your Russian humour is coming from, but sometimes you need to think three times or more before letting it out."

Hello Jen Psaki! No, this time it is not Russians. You have to check your information. You can look here. Best regards, Matt.

Ah, it is unfinished.

I think that my personal appeal banner cool BUT have no sense until it leads to a kickstarter page or something.
About the put your hands banner - it is vulgar, why you did not mention it.
Last one is HONEST in every line you know why, but it a joke banner.

I have a couple of good ideas, but I have no time right now to do any good artwork

Thanks! Sorry about that! The 'Tea' and 'ban button' ideas came to mind when i was at work, doing nightshifts.

Quote: "I confess, I did not put all that much effort into it as I feel the above version is much better... [The one from The Slayer]"

Not a bad banner, imo. Just the images look rather pixelated, and the teapot is not entirely visible. Should be an easy fix.

Quote: "Slayer those latest three are very good!"

Much appreciated, Clonkex! I have a couple more ideas, which i might design later today or tomorrow.

Oops, I accidentally gave credit for that one to swissolo. Well, nice banner, The Slayer. Swissolo's banners are utterly epic too, for the record.

Quote: "Sorry if I skipped past the deadline date, but when is the final day for submission?"
No formal deadline yet. This thread is still going at a rather steady pace, and until that changes, I don't think I will even consider a deadline date. On the other hand, getting your banners in as soon as you can is still a good idea.
