Wow Xaby you have been busy just getting models
one of the main reasons i set the game jam as classics so people wouldnt have all these extra issues
and could work within short time frames.

Like i like scraggles approach to getting a classic look getting colours etc to the old theme. producing models
can be time consuming but raven seems to have captured the retro model look well there aswell and santmans
is progressing quite well aswell. those are the ones ive seen here and i know it will be hard to judge. but if the
models arent perfect i wont judge against that but if someone has some boxlike model for example that resembles
a the look of a classic game that would score better

I hope that clarifies things a little. As i see some great development of pieces coming together

@fubarpk

from what I read, I am under the top 10 of this contest right now

Flashback
vs

Prince of Persia
vs

Oddworld: Abe's Odyssee (1997) not qualified for this contest

Impossible Mission

Another World

I am trying to have a look between the classic and the already existing "Remakes" and for myself I wanted to do something with the FPSC Classic assets for a long time, and since they are "public domain" some kind, I guess, they fit best for tutorials and education examples what we could do with AppGameKit without worrying about copyrights for the assets or the hustle to create everytime new ones for some basic questions.

@furbarpk, I am working on the idea to convert the models for an easy use with AppGameKit since 2016 when it was announced, that they are "free". But had to work on other things and so on. I also wrote a bachelor thesis about using FPSC Classic assets and the Raspberry Pi for movie-production with low cost energy. But never got the prototype to a usable finished product so far. So this could be a next step for my personal project.

Wish I'd had a bit more time this weekend, but oh well can't help when you catch a cold.
In any case was able to bash out the in-game items in between the periods of being passed out high on Lemsip Capsules

Now the Plan for tomorrow evening is to see if I can't get a Playable Training Course Build done.
Essentially as a "Playground" for the different systems, such-as AI, Boss Fights, and Stage Creation.

So over been hit badly with a chest cold, and have a lot going on in my actual day job, so may not get much more done, might just have to upload last weekends project as it is. It's basically functional though, and people could turn it into a full game really quickly and easily.

I probably won’t finish mine.
My original reason for choosing to write a Magic Mushrooms clone was because I wanted to play it again and re-live my youth. The trouble is, in my research for screenshots I found a site where you can play the game in a browser. That removed my motivation for writing it.
I’m not working on Friday so I will have the time to finish it, I’m just not sure that I will have the desire.

@Scraggle don't lose the motivation, im sure there are many that could benefit from the code and lots who would play it
When i fist started coding what inspired me to learn was wondering how the mechanics of some of the classic games that were
out there worked. The problem solving along the way taught me allot of things not just code based and im sure there are many
that could learn from your approach

@fubarpk,

I would also like to have this weekend to clearup the code, and all things. I also got an event on Friday into my schedule I didn't know before
And yeah, maybe my ideas for the project also a little bit more work than I wanted it to be in the first place, but I enjoy the motivation to finish some of my tools I started before.

so what would be the next deadline date?

nothing to show at this moment for the "current" game, but have the basics integrated into my prop placement tool. (level builder) now have to load some models and be able to save it as file.
After that I will integrate some character movement, collisions and item picking. Also maybe a lift in some kind.

hi guys, Sorry I won't be able to get an entry in this time I've maybe burned out a bit on Tapper and my different prototypes all still have arcade graphics, so there isn't enough to show.
I like what I've seen on the thread so far though, and good luck to everyone who has managed to get a project done!

I look forward to trying some out

I guess, I will be late for this entry. My convertion tool makes progress, I have some better previews of the FPSC Classic models. I am trying to get also good previews from segements. And after that I can improve my placement editor. And after that, I can implement some simple game logic for character movement. But I also want that to be easy and with some cinematic tools.

the result is an easy "level-format" where objects and textures are loaded from the media file. And an easy "playback" cue for some animation tweens. The idea is, to have very few objects and textures and have a tool for easy prototyping. I will work on that. And for a tech-demo I will create the game I wanted to have in this competition.
