I don't usually post to forums, but I just want to say thanks to the folks at TGC.

This product is nothing less than exceptional for the price.

I expected V1 to be at least 3 or more times the announced price and couldn't wait for a chance to buy it.

It's just a shame that squeaky wheels are alway the loudest.

Keep up the good work guys and THANK YOU !

With regards to the licence, it will stay as announced. When you have V1 you can make games and sell them. No extra costs to us or royalties, this will not change. OK?

That's terrific news about the model pack. Thank you for listening to your users. My complaint (that others seem to have missed the point about) was I think FPSC is worth even more than I paid for - not less, so I was annoyed that new users were getting it for a lower price.

I'd like to reiterate the praise others have given to FPSC. V1 is one of the most exciting prospects for non-programmers such as myself and I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Cheers

So, still no license needed for selling games made with V1? *phew!*

One thing to look forward to:

Today I made a game for my step son Sam. He had not seen FPSC much and now seems very interested. In just 10 minutes I had a basics of great first level. It was so cool, I had aiko behind some crates giving it some with the heavy weapon, striding left and right to dodge me. I pulled out the Uzi, blasted the crate to bits and filled her with lead. It then struck me that the game was %^&*(£ brilliant to play!!! It felt better than a lot of so called AAA titles. You're going to love V1

Hahaha, dont care. $11.00 is not a lot of money. It's only 11 1 dollar bills. You should be lucky you're not re-paying for V1. They could've set the price for 50 bucks if TGC really wanted to. The things are looking of how powerful this fantastic tools is, whether or not you're paying 11 bux, I'd think you're getting your moneys worth, if if they charged 90 for it. I've used 3drad, I've used The 3D gamemaker, I've used the A5 game maker, but absolutely nothing came close to being better than FPSC. Besides, minors shouldn't be playing/making games like this, lol.

You guys are going to be thrilled with V1. It does a lot to improve things. The $$$ is more than worth it's price. By the way, Roger Wilco, did you choose that name from a certain game or was that from something else?
The game I am refering to is Space Quest.

Well, after watching the two vids of V1, I'm looking forward to when it gets released espcially since it will be a lot faster than EA, which on my comp is so so so slow sometimes and thats with all other unwanted programs switched off.

While Merranvo is looking at the corpse of poor Steven, SoulMan grabs Merranvo's whip, finds the nearest lamp post, slings the whip onto the lamp post and swings away into the night. Before Merranvo can put up an offensive, he sees a small device in the spot SoulMan was sitting. He looks at it and the timer that has now counted down to 0. The device goes off putting out some sleeping gas. Merranvo falls to ground fast asleep.
The caped beta tester has struck again!

It did seem a helpless situation, Merranvo had fallen, Steven lay still unconsious, and the beer was slowly warming as the sun rose. It was indeed helpless, without teh beer, we can't be like teh leeh! But Merranvo never enters a fight unprepared, he had a trick up his sleve, and SoulMan would not excape!

"A few miles away"
Ha I got away from that Merranvo and his gang of Anti-Mods, nows too... what!
*SoulMan looks at the whip, there is a glowing red light. He sudently goes into a fighting stance*
Where are you! Show yourself, Coward!

A shadow flutters by, and sudently, without warning, SoulMan had fallen, the whip falls from his hand, and the words "GPS Whip Co." are seen... The Attacker Then Speacks.

SoulMan's chances of living from this latest attack from Megeton Cat and Merranvo looks grim. Will our hero escape from this latest assualt? When will Lee realize that the answer to every problem in life is the number 42? These questions and more shall be answered in Setember, same FPSC channel same FPSC time.

yeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss!!!! we get FMVs...somewhat, but still, I realy don't care about loosing a small amount of money in the process, we are afterall getting the fabled V1 with more than enough extra goodies to make up for the amount more we have to spend, plus we also have a vauge release time of September.

My projects may be reality afterall

Just tell me why you need to flood this thread with your off topic story?
If someone wan't to know more details about the pricing announcement he has to read the whole bunch of useless plot postings.

Official postings should not be abused as playground for story tellers...

Someone should keep an eye on this before the thread gets closed.

Even though all of us that bought the EA version, and find that new users will get it for less, who cares! I like the program, like the new no royalty thing, and find that this program is worth every dime. Try using something like 3D Game Studio, its hard and expensive. Even if I had to pay $100 for v1, I don't care, I'm not going to quibble over a few measly dollars...

The thing with all forums and their threads is that users have to use common sense or not when posting, whilst at the same time excercising the freedom to express their opinion. The forum owners have to make a decison about forum policy and how that forum will be policed.

TGC have a fairly light handed policy and as long as things dont degrade too badly (even off topic as some things could be said to be cross thread linked) or more impotratntly offennsive posting starts to creep in, then TGC will allow a thread to continue for the sake of allowing users that freedom to express their opinion.

TGC constantly watch the forum, if something is seen to be of a nature that overly or continually breaks sensible forum policy then any thread that infringes may recieve a warning shot as it were. Continued bad behaviour will quicly result in threads being locked.

In severe cases of unacceptable behaviour then a post may be locked without warning or explanation.

Tha seems to me to be fair policy.

We all know that posts should be restricted to topic and posted in the correct location - addditionally we should behave as nice people would in our postings. Unfortunately that is not always the case as everyone has differing opinions and some feel rather strongly about them. Thats the nature of us humans and that is unlikely to change in the near future. What a dull place the world would be if we were all of the same opinion.

A heavy handed policing policy may stamp out many bad uses of the forum in the opinion of those policing but would not stop initial posts - but would deny any ability of others to reply unless the post happened to be deleted before anyone saw it.

Its very easy for forum members to police the forum themselves by following the rules by - for instance not being drawn into unecessay debates when temptation is clearly put in front of them in an attempt to aggresively contimue that situation.

If you dont like an opinion or disagree you dont have to reply - but in some instances "you cant help it can you" because you yourself may feel strongly about something. Refraining from response in such a situation takes a strong individual and by nature many of us are not so. Doing so of course to some extent defeats the very object of the forum - the freedom to express that opinion.

Hopefully, then this will be the last post here as the matter has be discussed in much detail and enough opinions put forward, the decision is made, so the thread could be closed.

Alternatively we could all effectively close it ourselves by forum members refraining from posting further.

Are we all strong enough for that - I dont think so?

Who will be The Weakest Link?

Watch the space below this post to find out the answer.

p.s. Beacuse I now cant post here again I thank you all in advance.
