Okay, cannot kill oneself in arena mode now for PUBLICARENA7, but cannot reproduce the invincible bug in publicarena6. Also added code to perhaps fix the grey figure issue, will carry on looking through this thread for clues and bug info, then will upload an update soon. I will continue working on this throughout the mastering process so you get the latest version and fixes, despite what is going on for the retail side of things. I like to think of this thread as a great way to get real progress made with our multiplayer game.

Can you post more screens showing the 'grey' no texture bug, and also show this while looking at characters and doors in the same shot as well.

Are you saying you cant kill your self even if you jump off a cliff.

You should also place before you join a map of how much players are in the map and Be able to name the server instead of it going off your player name.

Also should make it for you can have a map list. Where it will load different maps after each match.

New exe only for publicarena7:

ftp://ftp.thegamecreators.com/fpsc/publicarena7-240805.zip

Use this to replace the EXE file from publicarena6, and you will be able to play the latest version. I will have it running a little now, and much more Wednesday!

All the suggestions made are good ones, and we can look at that when the main areas of gameplay stability have been dealt with. There is a LOT we can do in the multiplayer arena of game making!

Doors look good though, they are textured. Everything is textured except player characters For me at least.

IMHO After playing 5 rounds with Arena7 gameplay seem really good mp wise. I play CS Source, HL2 Multiplayer and Battlefield 2 regularly. Honestly the gameplay is very solid compared to those. Just need the texture problems solved it seems, then tweak all the other suggestions. Pretty impressive for a point and click game making suite.

New exe only for publicarena8:

ftp://ftp.thegamecreators.com/fpsc/publicarena8-240805.zip

This one should fix the grey texture issue. The cause was some users do not have Pixel Shader 2.0 and above (used to accelerate the animation of bone based characters).

You may have missed the HOST. The IP listing can sometimes stay in the master list for 30 minutes, if the host crashes out or terminates irregularly. For example when I hosted around 5AM last night I just terminated it immediately so there would have been an IP to join, but no server at the end of it. let me know if MP games in PA8 are okay, and that the grey character issue is gone.

I think some games cant be joined because. Some people are on routers and it would show there Network (LAN)IP as such 192.168.xx.xx.

Is there a way to make it for it gets your WAN address of your router instead or at least have the user be able to type that in before they host. I think thats one problem with hosting.

Today I could see a nice colored skin
My graphics card on my current test setup has indeed only support
for vs 1.1 and ps 1.4 shaders

You should support fixed function pipeline shaders also, because a lot of our possible customers might have "not so current" hardware.

Btw. thank you for this MP Test - it is real fun

Okay it looks like when some joiners leave, they also leave a copy of their character as a ghost in the arena and in the tab list. Another bug me thinks. Thanks for the shot, it's the best way to convince me, especially when I am standing there when you take the snappy

hey lee, if you die, or the frag limit is reached and the game restarts, and you are scoped in with a tavor, you are stilled zoomed whenb you respawn. here's a screen of me at the beginning of a server (although it says its ending because the host is shutting it down).

ok, let me get this straight. if I donwload ftp://ftp.thegamecreators.com/fpsc/publicarena8-240805.zip

then unzip it and run it I can play? I don't have to donwload anything else? Because I downloaded it then opened it, but all I got was a black screen. I even let it sit for like 30 minutes.

@Sunflash:

Here is number 6. It's the FULL 54MB version containing the maps and media:
ftp://ftp.thegamecreators.com/fpsc/publicarena6-230805.zip

The latest EXE-only version is number 8 (as of this writing):
ftp://ftp.thegamecreators.com/fpsc/publicarena8-240805.zip

So after you unzip publicarena6-230805.zip, you want to put
publicarena8.exe into the same directory as publicarena6.exe.
Then run publicarena8.exe.

Hello boys and girls. A forum user mentioned the arena we are testing was not big enough, so I used the opporunity while testing to knock up a larger WW2 based arena game:

ftp://ftp.thegamecreators.com/fpsc/WW2arena-250805.zip

It's also eight players, and should allow snipers to come into their own (if they can get to the mas36 without being machine gunned enroute).

I shall be taking the weekend off, so I will post back here on Monday to see how things have done with both arena games. Have fun!
