Well well what we got here... My first game and thats why heres no good graffiks. Okay but this is expansion to FF VII i am programming skeleton just now.

Cloud 3d model is ready, i just need to remake walk animation.

Battle Engine have big bug...

I not making maps yet...

So This is my first game and first thing what i programming with dbpro i not good in english but i am REALLY REALLY BIG FF ONE and rpg fan too.

~soapyfish Oops never looked but now i readed it demo isin't ready because i have so many bugs in battle and i dint get help on it so this is really hard for me and i dont make my game every day because i playing ffxi too and it takes most of my time!!

Your models look really authentic, did you make them? I'd like to see bigger/closer screenshots...

Yea those models are my make.. First i think i gonna rip them but i dont wanna buy ffvii on shop because i have it on my psx so i did them myself but those eyes are uglys i did them paint shop pro and i cant fill them back to skin colour because paint shop pro is piece of sh*t and my little brother delete microsoft paint so.... well you know... I get new programm on net

Bit dim, but still very nice. Good project, i hope you keep it up and finish it. Could you brighten up the screens on your next post, it was pretty hard to see barret (just do it next time your ready to show screens). What modelling software do you use by the way, is this made with all free software (other than animating, i havnt found anything free for that)

Is this game is like, meteor have touch earth and you are into lifestream, trying to stop again sephiroth? anyway this looks great. Can't wait for new screenies and a demo.

Well story goes like this... Cloud cant live anymore without Aeris and he gonna go in lifestream and get aeris in live somehow but shepiroth have other plans he going put yenova souls in the lifestream and those shouls trying destoroy lfestream... I gonna make long game... First you need to adventure in world map long and then you get in lifestream somehow.... i not maked story end..

nice... as you said, Cloud need to walk along a long world map, why not make him go to midgard, because it was there that meteor tryed to destroy the world and lifestream was there, so let's say that a portail openned. (sorry if you don't understand what I means.)

cloud's idle is good if it loops properly it looks very cool. I like the way his head lunges when he attacks its quite subtle The sword should move more though, like a full swing through. Look like you're making good progress

looks excellent, really impressive start

Wishes? Well, all I can really say is dont be afraid to break the mold a bit. We all played and enjoyed ff7, but you dont need to replicate the gameplay exactally. Feel free to add things you like the sound of or borrow ideas from other ff games - like maybe stats dont have to be stuck on static advancment (like in ff7) but you can do stuff to direct the progression of your character (ala ff10 sphere grid) etc.

But keep on with the basics, start off small and then refine it - dont jump right into the biggest hardest and most impressive parts of the engine until you NEED to, you make alot more progress this way

You're lying... This is really your first game!?!?

I'm impressed. I'm very impressed.

Those are great models, and this actually looks like something I'd enjoy playing. Not many people can say their first game was a successful FF VII clone.

Also, as long as you don't sell this or get a cease and desist letter from square enix, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to use the name and characters. Just make sure you use all your own media for the final.

Well when i tried dbpro first time i dosent know anything that code at all but then i just going to programming and i get something like this i was impressed my self too but if i get something from square enix i stop my project at all

JaSrE, far be it for me to call you a fibber, but those models look too good to be true. I'm not saying for certain that you didn't make them - I can't do that without proof. However, there are some things that make me curious:

1. There's not a polygon out of place on the FF models.
2. The smoothing is all broken, this often happens on ripped models.
3. The cyan/red dino thing may as well have been modelled by a completely different person. The teeth are individually modeled and smoothed (high poly) and generally it lacks any and all of the polish in the FF models. I imagine it has double the polys of the FF characters, if not more.
4. The Cloud image in your menu is ripped or a very acurate copy.
5. The kissifish again, isn't by the same person as the FF characters - its interesting, but it's not the same modelling method at all.

Did you make them all by yourself? From scratch? Can I see a work in progress model of those characters? (Or whatever character you're working on next - so I can see your process).

I'm very sorry to sound so cynical - as it looks like your coding is doing great. But the models really are too good to be true. Please - prove me wrong?

Even if they're not your models, and you decided to use them as placeholders, then that's ok. Your cyan/red dino thing, and fish monster are interesting, and the animation is a good start. If the FF characters aren't yours, it would be best to admit it.

Well kissfish is not my made its my friend but i put those animations dino is my first model and i used turpo smooth on it lol...

And here is why those are not ripped

Those eyes are strange and have nurbs are black (going to fix it )

so they are really my make but if somebody is other mind i dont care its okay for me i just going to make this game (OOH and my ripping program dosent work )

i tell how i did those first i put my psx on and then i just use chacters an sample..

Then i made radgolls and then just animating those...

Battle idle is diffrent what in game i just wanna change them

Tinkergirl - I thought that, simply because the dino and fish were of different quality, but I assumed that he had made them very quickly from his imagination as place holders, but spent some time getting the ff characters right and having the original model to go from. You're right though the FF models are close to perfect for poly placement, and look very similar to the square versions, so i could be swayed either way. I'll give him the benifit of the doubt though till I see them in game

I always give people the benefit of the doubt, plus they don't look exactly the same as the square versions (mostly the legs). However the dino and fish are nowhere near the same quality - you need to work on your enemies to get them looking as good, then it won't look suspicious at all.

And even if they did turn out to be ripped/"borrowed" (I'm not saying they are) it looks like you've made a really good start to your first project anyway and that should be commended, many newcomers just post all kinds of crud after their first attempt...

anyway dude, you want any low poly FF models, I am in the progress of making low poly ones just to get into the mojo of low poly modelling again, name any you need, I started on modelling the turks, and am gonna turn one into a tutorial, they are not likely to be animated, but the model will still be there.
