Could you please make a tutorial on making a model, texturing it, rigging it, and getting it into Dark Basic Pro? If you do it, I know it will rock!

Question: Why do you use Gile[S] instead of the default lightmapper in CShop? I personally really like CShop's lightmapping system.

Megaton, question. 3D World Studio can export a working DBO now. The lightmap is beautiful. But, I loose 20 fps. I thought the whole purpose of a lightmap was NOT to loose frames. Do you know what's up?

BTW, I know I've said it before, but great tutorial. Mainly, it inspired me to start creating levels. And it educated me about backfaces. Superb.

my god dude, read the Damn tutorial, its at the top! You dont read anything at all do you?

EDIT: Because i know you wont look

http://www.vgstudy.com/scifi.htm

at the top of the page look for something like :
What you're going to need for this tutorial

- Cartography Shop 4.1 or Above
- Gile[s]
- GLS exporter for Cshop. Get it here.
- The actual level, .x format. Get it here.
- Optional .CSM file. Get it here.

pay attention and read everyhting before aksing questions. 99% of the time you will ask something thats already been asnwered several times.

Cshop's lightmapper crashes when you try to lightmap anything remotly large.

I've tried 3dws's new lightmapper. It looks nice, but is very limited. Did you check out the new 3DWS IncaPro demos?

I just did, after you mentioned it. I appreciate that. Figures there would be some crazy loading program to make it work right. At least now my levels will look nice. Thanks!

Well, I can't export to Giles yet, so it would seem that I'm stuck for the time being. At least the lightmapper works now. Eventually there will be an exporter...

The lightmap shadows doesnt seem to work well here...
Any solution to this?
It casts shadow on the floor, but not on the wall
The floor lightmap is also a bit screwed...
Check the attatched screenshot.

What format was the level when you loaded it into Gile[s]?
