Hi there Uncle Sam.
I got 66 Frames Per Second, with all the graphics settings maxed out.
I'm running :
Windows XP Service Pack 2
Intel Pentium 4 - 3.40 GHz
2G RAM
nVidia GeForce 6800 256MB
I'm sure some of these things were already mentioned, but I'll just
tell you everything so I don't miss out anything
Suggestions :
- Some sort of HUD, showing AMMO and avaliable guns/gun selected.
- A Jump control, space bar would be best
although I'm sure you'll add this.
- The sound of the footsteps needs some tweeking, it sounds like
I'm walking in a hall.
- Remove the sprint key, and instead make a walk key. If you're playing a fast-paced FPS, you'll want to be running, not walking. Unless you're trying to sneak up on somebody (maybe you could make the sound of running louder than the sound of walking to add a 'stealth' factor).
- As already mentioned, the see through tree problem when I shoot the trees.
- Improved menu, please add credits as player need to know who to contact to thank for this game
Maybe also so better menu graphics but that not essential.
- When I press Esc, it quits the game; are you able to make it go back to the menu?
- Maybe add another screen that says "Please wait, the game is loading." when the user clicks play so it doesn't seem like it has frozen.
- The first gun does have a surprizing amount of 'kick', maybe this could be made so that when the player first starts firing the gun moves up quickly; but after they hold down the fire buttong for a while it moves up slower, and then just quickly moves up and down.
- The second gun should re-load as soon as the shot is fired, so the player doesn't have to wait for the gun to re-load when he really needs it to fire.
- As mentioned before, the player just walks straight through the bridge. And maybe the player shouldnĂ˝ start beneath the bridge - I got a little confused when I first loaded up the game (but that could just be me
).
- The hands will be a good addition, and will make the game seem alot more realistic
.
- Lastly, some kick ass music for the menu
I know most of my suggestions are just little things, which probably won't make a huge difference to the overall game play.
I can't wait to be able to test a multiplayer version.
It's great to see what can be achieved with Dark Basic. Keep up the
great work. I've add this post to my favorites so I'll be checking
back as much as I can.
